A very big thank you for making these old films available to us! We watch them and re-watch them with Pleasure!
Pre Ollie, Stan was still amazing. March, 2023.
Same funny mannerisms he used later on, and some scenes I can read his lips. Still funny to this day.
This must be the longest intro ever before the two geniuses show up.
Apologies.......I meant one genius.
It's. Very good. Thanks
I was saying, DAMN, look at that! Starting at 16:52, he's crying just like his "little fella" character in the future ...
Wow, Stan Laurel before he paired up with Oliver Hardy!
I like watching them separately before they teamed up. They worked with Charley Chase and Harry Langdon. They were funny then. But when they teamed up a pair made in heaven. Great stuff. Rip. U great stars.
Agreed on all points. They each did some great work with Larry Semon too.
Agreed!
I love it, thank you for sharing.
8:53...”your evening weed sir.”😳🤔
I love the sets back then!! The countess’ home is magnificent!! Her attenders were all male!! 😁
Nothing funny!
Skid marks on Stan Lauren's boxers are clearly visible at minute 19:57 of the video. Oh dear!
What’s the name of the tune starting at 4:14? Thank you in advance (-:
Does anybody know the piano song that's played around 4:25
Esta divertida está película a pesar que Oliver no está en la película
amazing.
20:16 What in the world is that huge statue?
Knowledgeable acquaintances inform me it is from the Circus Maximus set in Ben Hur (1925). Best guess is that it appears to be on top of another part of the set, adjacent to a small commercial building - gas station, burger joint, tamale shack? Quite a landmark!
@@KennethJDeVries I would love to know the story behind that! I found the statue in stills of Ben Hur 1925 but why and how it ended up on what looks like a burger stand is a mystery to me! Perhaps this was filmed near the MGM lot?
I watched a colorized version of this film and it looks like the collesium in the background. I’m thinking this was filmed next to the MGM lot where Ben Hur was filmed the same year.
It's so funny...!
♥
8:03 so clever
wonder what street the filmed at the police chase
***** As it's a Roach movie it would have been filmed in Culver City, but the actual street is a tough one. The motorcycle cop is Edgar Dearing.
+PAMAROSHOUSE I was wondering the same thing, wonder what it looks like today almost 90 years later !!
@ PAM - Washington Boulevard, Culver City.
@@mrsbrownandhercat Thank you for posting. Looks lovely. I bet it's all built up now.
