I love these guys.I was born in 1964 they were way before my time but every once in a while on Friday or Saturday nights they would come one the late show and I would sit watch laugh so hard at them and laugh like that today
Same here. I'm in my 50s now so I'm not old enough to remember them but my late dad was born in 1930s. I got his taste for TV and movies. Love The British Carry On Movies plus Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Movies. Very funny physical comedies. They don't make them like they used to. Quoted by my dad 1st and now by me 😲😁
Me too! Films played at weekends in UK. I watched in 1970s as a young kid. Everything for me stopped. I just had to watch L&H. They made me laugh. I was addicted. The Piano and the train journey on the top bunk, and the boat renovation films will always be my favourite. Perfect duo and best friends to the end.
Absolute legends . All these years on and their comedy is just as fresh and funny. Never will be another duo like them. Thanks for the laughs gents. RIP.
My dad putting this film every morning up for me on video tape when I was waiting on the schoolbus to collect me when I was 6 and 7 years old in 1982 and 1983. It became our favorite film. The funniest part I'm my memories whas the long washing lines and the onnormly big pile of wash that Stan climes on, end the long line soldiers who sheasing Stan and olive in the cell tro the secret pas way under the floor board. I loved the guardian face , when he looks in the totally empty cell, and of course the harp bed of stanly. My dad passed away , of cancer , on the 5th September 2023 he was 71 years old. I was with him the moment he died , of euthanasie.i still love my dad so much. This movie is a happy memory of us together laughing on the same things . It was of how he wanted rise me . With humor, and compassion to the fellow humans. Love you dad. I really hope you do Stan laurel, and Oliver hardly greetings in heaven.
My grandfather bought me this tape on VHS back in 1997 on Christmas . It was my first introduction to Laurel and Hardy. All these years later I’ve seen everything these two have done and consider myself a super fan
this was my favourite show as a child. i used to watch it almost everyday, with the family. an unparralelled duo and an unparralelled comedy that modern entertainment will never produce a rival for. what an absolute classic.
Me too. As a child in the UK during the summer This, the old Tarzan and the Pink panthercartoon used to be on every weekday morning, some of earliest and favorite TV memories.
Who are the heros that did this? You have given humanity a great gift. OMG, I just saw Ollies eyes twinkle as he waved his tie…. I never thought I would live long enough to see this. Don’t quit now.
@@CasinoWoyale You have a valid point. But as a life long lover of L&H (I’m 75) I’ve seen much improvement in film clarity and quality of their recorded work. I enjoy the upgraded products as much as the originals.
@@CasinoWoyale No respect? Puritanical much? If the film-makers of the day had access to color film, they most certainly would have used it, so............go watch the black and white version and be happy.
I used to watch this fantastic double act with my dad and I remember this like it was yesterday.... happy memories and a time I wish I could have again...
I grew up watching this movie..an instant classic...love the color restoration..also love the fact that this isn’t the edited version...I still have the vhs copy...
Always the best comedy duo since i was a kid. I still love watching their movies. It is just sad that in this movie Olie died on the plane crash. In real life Olie died too before Stanley.
Thank you for providing a colorized version! finally can watch and understand it. For years I've been trying to watch films that are black and white but it's just been a unrecognizable smattering of glowing shapes before my eyes. Now.. I can see that there are people and they are doing funny things.
I was born in the UK in 1963, i had my 1st viewing of these legends in 1971, 61 now & still laughing at these legends which includes the bald moustached adversary James Finlayson.
Most other comedians age badly in comedy meaning their stuff that was once funny isn't any longer. These two are as fresh and funny now as the day this came out
I used to fall asleep watching this movie on an old VHS tape my parents got me for christmas back in the 80s. The nostalgia is almost overwhelming watching this and remembering how much I laughed and enjoyed it as a kid, heck I still enjoy it now! I love Stan & Ollie. It's funny how dark that whole jumping into the river bit is but really, it's handled so well with so many good jokes. I always loved how Stan apologies to Ollie @16:54, it seemed so silly but so sweet 🤣🤣
STAN LAUREL AND OLIVA NORVAL HARDY WERE GREAT ACTORS IN THIS MOVIE ON UTUBE AND OLIVA NORVAL HARDY DIED FROM A STROKE AT THE AGE OF 65 YEARS OLD AND STAN LAUREL DIED FROM A HEART ATTACK AT THE AGE OF 73 YEARS OLD AND THEY WERE THE FUNNIEST COMEDY TEAM THAT EVER LIVED 😔
This can't be repeated in life , l was the lucky one , born before technology took over the world , and also see technology, these legends will be forget in time, but atlest we are still here to remember them ,
Not the greatest Laurel and Hardy film, being largely a retread of earlier films Hal Roach Studios made with them, but certainly a lot better than their last few films (they found themselves increasingly squeezed by studios who wanted Stan & Ollie, but didn't realise the films were at their best when The Boys were the focus of the story and not just one part of it). The plot of this one seems to be most reminiscent of their earlier film, 'Beau Hunks'. The colourisation is nicely done. :-)
Man, for the first time since my childhood I have watched the whole movie today... Lastly Hardie's death wasn't acceptable...else it was a masterpiece since 1964
You can see their relationship reimagined in so many sitcoms... Rik & Eddie in Bottom, MC Grindah & Beats in People Just Do Nothing (Grindah even has the same fringe as Ollie)
My dad was laughing for hours .... He loved these. I miss listening to him laugh
My Dad also!
Almost 100 years old and still its far, far better than modern day programs.
83 years is not almost 100.
How is it any better than anything besides what your rosy glasses tell you?
