Butterbean , a Legend indeed . I really liked to watch him fighting . The fat guy who's also strong , quick with his powerful punches too . He never was a world champ but , in my opinion , he was at the same best top Heavyweight Boxers level during his Era .
Silva didn’t look happy at the end, he knew he didn’t truly win and thus couldn’t celebrate. This shows he’s a good character, I bet the two went for a drink afterwards.
The big guy was obviously taught by a much smaller, lighter person. His moves are all wrong for his size. He takes no advantage of his arm or leg reach. His short tentative steps, and easy loss of balance show that his leg strength is not up to handling his body.
I saw three swings where butterbean missed by a butt hair or else it would have been nap time for giant. You could see the look on his face after butter being connected the first time
this fight got more interesting once i found out kicks were involved. a big, tall individual who liked to make use of his longest limbs, but butterbean started to gain some momentum as soon as hr started doing a good job of pressing into this giant after taking a leg kick. it showed the giant man that there could be reprecussions and id like to say that butterbean had a little more sway for most of the fight, but the big guy up he was against mayve started to get more fluent towards the end again.
Opinion of a former boxer: The giant didn't use his height to his advantage & he could've kept Butterbean away with sharp jabs, fast & consistent -- which he doesn't do. Obviously, he never trained for that though he got one good jab in & he should've realized this was the way to go. In the 3rd round -- at 10:38 the Giant lands a good straight on Butterbean's face. At 11:07 another crisp punch. Montana depends too much on his leg sweeps and he has no legs. Though consistent sweeps may take a toll. They're skinny legs & not muscular. Butterbean thought he could bully his way into this guy but he's no Rocky Marciano & the Giant is strong too. deflects punches & shoves Butterbean away. Butterbean has heavy bombs but he has to get in close to deliver them but he's too wild. If the Giant has Butterbean's face on his chest as Butterbean wails away Marciano or Tyson style -- his long arms would've been ineffective. This never happened. This wasn't one of Butterbean's better fights. He missed a lot. Butterbean never took any risk in this fight and never gets in close. The Giant won because he was good at tying up Butterbean's charges by pushing Butterbean's head, shoving him away. The Giant must've landed good shots since it's Butterbean's left eye that was swollen. Look between rounds when they apply pressure on Butterbean's eyes & forehead. In the last round, Butterbean seems to dance a moment -- that's to get the blood circulating in his legs. He's obviously losing footwork from the kicks. They were both cautious but this fight showed clumsiness, ineffective boxing & it was un-impressive. But, it was entertaining. What's with both fighters breathing hard when it's only a 3 round fight? Do they do any training? Conditioning? Do they have any stamina? If this was a 12-rounder it would've been one boring fight.
