Solo Female Travels to Small Cornish Village - Downderry

- Hi, I'm Josie and I love to travel around in my temporary VW Crafter Conversion. Vanilla, Vanilla Vanlife.
From time to time I like to find new quiet campsites where I can park up then explore surrounding areas. Here I travel to a small Cornish Village called Downderry where I stayed on a campsite 'Trewall Farm Campsite' and it did not disappoint at all. With stunning panoramic beach views as well as farm animals; including sheep and cows. I had a lovely sleep on the night of Summer Solstice 2023. Waking up and exploring the next seaside village of Seaton, Cornwall.

Guinness and chips for the win! You’re properly in my old stomping ground here. I grew up in one of the nearby villages to here in East Cornwall, so used to go to loads of spots around there. Brought back a lot of memories, seeing Downderry and Seatown again. Great video as always 😃

@@ldhsmash2718 Yeah, I am from Pensilva, and went to school at Liskeard. Good times. I’m working up in Bristol these days but the family are still down there, so still head back often.

I like it 🤣I enjoyed how sometimes when you're recording yourself you react like someone who's just noticed themselves on the big screen at a football game or something 😋 That campsite had an absolutely amazing view as well! I note all these places I see on videos down so I have a massive list of places to visit now 😁sucks when you have to return home for work doesn't it!

Recently I thought about a motor home as I like the outdoors and I cycle most days and could combine both.
I’m not a lover of the motor home look or life shinny white fully equipped vehicle.
Your van has really inspired me keeping it simple .
I like time alone and travelling.

That view at 9:27 is amazing to wake up to. We recently stayed at the top of Looe Hill, a bit nearer to Looe, and woke up to that view each day. Walked from there down into Seaton & Downderry with the dogs and back up again. Might give that campsite a try sometime 👍
Grew up there as a kid, grandparents retired in Downderry! Brings back many memories 😅 need to go back and visit

Inn on The Shore. Was there last Friday and had a lovely fish n chips on the beer garden. The local grocery store was closed down!

Lovely pub but I thought staff and food was horrendous inn on the shore great views little cafe on the beach down the hill was great and lovely walk 😉👍🏻

It's amazing how pleasant people are to a pretty young lady I'm a tall chap and look a bit hard sometimes and most people normally greet me with barely concealed aggression and hostility

Just came across this video as I live in Bideford, was a good video, and looked like a fun night out.
i love the fact you have jusr bought a van and fitted it with loose furniture...i suppose it does the job and saves more cash for travelling..well done..market place is a good source of furniture and items..

So was that a seal or a buoy out beyond the boats?
We tend to get a fair number of seals here, especially when kayaking around Downderry, Seaton, Looe, Talland bay etc.
Looe Island is a good spot for kayaking with or without the seals, but it is a treat when it happens.
The course of Seaton river changes over time, especially as a result of stormy weather, so Talland beach can be ever-changing.
(PS: The "Tre" in Cornish place names means farm or homestead, hence there being so many places starting "Tre" - pronounced as in "Tread" or "Trevor". There are some funny sounding ones.)

We have DIY converted the same van as you but a long wheel base because we wanted a toilet and shower. Personally we prefer the holidays in van in the uk than over seas hols. good on ya
Oh wow, good on you. That’s it, some people like a shower some people don’t. I personally stay on campsites so I decided to save the space in my van without having a shower.

I'm on Woodlands view West looe by carpark if you need water. I'm not there yet as still in kent.

Not sure why this video was recommended to me, maybe because I was talking to some friends about vans the other day🤷♂😂 but It's made me want to jump on the mobike and get out somewhere down Cornwall again(I'm in Plymouth btw, so I don't have much of an excuse lol). Just watched a bit of another vid quickly and must say its adorable that your cat likes trips out too!

In the beginning when you were fueling up the van you had 2 different prices on the pump,1 before you opened the door and another after 😂😂😂😂😂😂😮
Hello and welcome, yes that is an observation and it is different numbers due to the number when opening the door would have been the previous person using the pump. Then the moving number was when I was putting diesel in my van! :D
Love Seaton. If you're going to venture down to the sea, I'd recommend footwear of some description. There are loads of weaver fish that live under the surface of the sand and will give you a nasty sting if you step on one. I know loads of people ( including myself ) who its happened to. Its basically like a nasty bee sting.
That bed making lark and sheet on your mattress ! You definitely burnt off those chips 😅

The wonderful well known Tamar Bridge which separates Cornwall from the rest of us. Always on holiday once I cross that bridge. Looe and Liskard are both lovely places They're approximately 10 miles from each other. :)
