What's amazing about Doug is that you can tell he is genuinely kind. At any given time he's ready to call a truce, have a shot with his hecklers and talk it out.
I would say Stanhope is my top spot with Big Jay Oakerson coming in 2nd. They both are masters of their style. Gritty and hilarious. They make people think of all the dumb shit they do. Exactly what being a comedian should be all about. Digging up Mother is a damn good book if you haven’t checked it out yet.
Doug is so damn good he makes almost every other comedian look like absolute trash. He forgets more points of reference than most comics know. I wouldn’t advise being “that guy/girl” at his show.

And for the audience, thanks to the guy in the sweater for letting Doug off the leash. I can’t imagine taking that dressing down a foot away from the man. I’d definitely cry.😂
I love the course, abrasive music! Course and abrasive is kinda the theme and that's why I love stanhope. As the video shows, whatever happens someone is gonna bitch about it. The important part is to never apologize. It just encourages the weak.

There's not even a handful of comics alive today that I'd put up on his level of overall intelligence (Louis CK & Jim Norton being 2 of them).
