If they weren't going to put anything in that compartment, then I think they should've made that circle piece on the side a strong connection point, that way you can add things like floodlights and bubble turrets, because that's where they connect in-universe

(sniffles and adjusts glasses) well aktuwally they are mounted to the same hardpoints as the bubble turrets from early models, they just have long linkages to push them forward actually given further examination they are indeed mounted on those dark gray harpoints further forward, but in my defense the bubble turrets can be seen mounted there too, in at least the second battle of geonosis
I was already super excited for this set seeing the rendered pics, but with this i like it even more. Am actually thinking of getting 2 of this set honestly. These shock troopers will also go super well with the purple ones from the fighter tank. The fox figure and the helmet holes dont bother me at all. Now if we also get a new version of the red ship from the very opening of phantom menace id die happy creating a little coruscant guard fleet. Edit: The ahsoka shuttle would go nice with this gunship too
I’m glad that you of all people got this set early because it made me find your channel. Definitely my favorite LEGO Star Wars reviewer at the moment. You have a great style and you don’t endlessly whine about minor things like so many others do. You acknowledge flaws without harping on them. The editing and flow is also great and it’s obvious you put more effort in than most in the space.
It’s awesome you got this so early, this set is definitely better than I expected. I love the new sizing. I’m definitely gonna get it day one. Hopefully I can get another too and color swap it. And I’m glad the helmet prints aren’t all wacky. I honestly don’t mind the helmet holes anymore. I think legos finally figuring out the printing on those helmets. Great review!
The only 3 things that would make this set better for me would be the correct printing on Fox's chest, more shock troopers, and and an actual waist cape for fox. Besides those 3 the gunship is awesome.

I just found your channel and I have to say, from all the other reviewers I watch it’s great to see someone who’s so positive and pushing small inaccuracies to the side when all the others are so negative because of those small inaccuracies
from this video the only nitpick i have would be that he doesnt show any reference images to the source material, feel like when he was pointing out the issues with Fox he could have show an image or 2 of him in the show for people who didnt watch it or havent rewatched it in awhile

The thing I don't understand is why Lego can't have both the physical kama and the printed one at the sametime. You can use the physical one when you don't want Fox (or any other clone with a kama) to sit, but you can take it off when you want him to sit, but still have alittle visual of the kama

It’s. A shit set you shouldn’t want it. And you should have more self respect to want something better. You are paying YOUR MONEY for a premium product. Them fucking up the basic things is unacceptable and you should be more angry about it. Nothing changes if we do nothing about it. The fox is BAD and the gunship is inaccurate period.. first of all there should be bubble turrets, secondly, the doors should slip from the middle not one big door, and it should be a darker red. Also there should be NO helmet holes there literally aren’t even range finder in this set
I definitely think it looks a lot better than the renders made it out to be, However, my big gripe is definitely the troop bay door and how it doesn't open up accurately, It's an easy fix most likely, but still rather annoying.
Man, thanks so much for this review letting us get to see the physical product. I just absolutely love those minifigures despite some errors. Don’t mind the Gunship being smaller, I think it has a good scale with the clones. Awesome!
I’m so excited to get this set! The gunship being my favourite ship in universe, CG’s being my favourite legion and this being my first of both I just can’t stress how excited I am to get his for my birthday!

No disrespect, but i disagree, going for Fox was the right call as much more usage from both kids and clone wars fans given he appears and does much more than Thorn ever did, plus this most likely was the only opportunity that LEGO could've given us Fox as they most likely would never make another fugitive Ahsoka set and definitely not a Fives' death set. It seems LEGO's plan was to make a general use CG gunship with minifigs that would get much more usage other than super specific niche scenes, like Thorn or Rush Clovis, Thorn would most likely just be used in a Scipio landing pad diorama and like nothing else, and I don't think there's much demand for padme's ex.
I think the fact you have to buy things to fix commander fox is the problem. It's not all authentic lego to people who care about that. And for paying 140 for it, it should at least have no printing problems. I still plan on getting it, but it is a problem that should be addressed
One thing I would have liked to have scene would be young Tarkin. I can’t really think of a better set for him to come along in than a coruscant guard set since he’s pretty much always flanked with coruscant guards in the clone wars

Nah the gunship itself is really mediocre imo. It’s too small, too expensive, the doors look really goofy not opening in 2 and then wing cannons look awful

The thing I dislike the most is actually the side profile right above the cockpits. The angle of the ship is steeper above the cockpits when it should keep the same angle going all the way up to the top. Still looks good overall though
I found you for the first time today. Your comments are exactly my feelings on the mini figures and the gunship. I have plans to replace the stud shooters with domes as well. And make a little weapons storage rack or some interior design in the spaces that are open.
This ship doesn’t really need the clone Pilot since the regular Shock troopers Pilot the coruscant gunship. We see that in the Mandalorian and in other material
There arent any Turrent Bubbles on the front or sides, i understand they added the stud shooters for playability however I don't like it without the Turrent bubbles

The set is just rock solid. Nothing has the tendency to fall off. It's a great play set. Which is its intended use. If you want a display set that is in the adult sphere go for the UCS. I love how robust it is. And for my display purposes having ordered multiple of the 2024 battle packs. I know where the shock troopers are going.
Personally I don’t get why people mind the helmet holes and the reasons as to why people say they are bad is that the holes are not where their supposed to be but that just sounds like ocd to me
Fox is disappointing, and it's sad Lego can just keep making important figures with cut corners. The Shock Troopers look SO GOOD and I think those guys sold me on getting this set. The gunship actually looks decent sized. The box art makes it seem tiny.
Great review! Thankfully, the brittle dark red problem has been resolved by my understanding, but at the same time, Lego has been struggling with making the color consistent. Sometimes dark red parts have an either lighter or darker hue to them.
Do you know if the dark red on the gunship will be the same as the dark red on the fighter tank, obi-wan starfighter, etc? I was a bit confused when he mentioned the color hasnt shown up since those sets are from last year
I really enjoy the bit of downscaling going on, I had the 2nd gen gunship as a kid, still do, and it really is WAY too massive to put into any kind of playscale diorama compared to the figures

Is it possible to move the two cockpits one stud to the front? I really don't like, how it is moved more to the back, so it has small flat area in the front and really small gap (inacurate) between second cockpit and engines/rocket tubes

Honestky, i like the set. But it could have been so much better with little side builds (as often seen with a Turbo-Tank) they could have added Clovis (from the CW) or something like a Shock Trooper Communications Officer together with a small radio satelite etc.

For the wingtip turrets: remove the grey 4x4 plates, replace with 4x4 turntable bases, now the turrets rotate. More play value! (I like the stud shooters.)
I'm glad to see a new minifig scale LAAT, but I kinda hate the color, the lack of pilots and the lack of turrets or any build to put in the meaningless storage.. this one feels like a miss in my book
I appreciate the vansire at the beginning, i will be buying this on day 1 but or the moment im figuring out how this was made so i can make a modified version
so about the wing turrets its seen in the banking clan ark with rush clovice that the coruscant guard gunships the one this is based on does not feature the wing ball turrets instead they feature turrets more angled and flat which is an awesome detail they included into this design of the gunship

Prints instead of stickers would be number one for me

Honestky, i like the set. But it could have been so much better with little side builds (as often seen with a Turbo-Tank) they could have added Clovis (from the CW) or something like a Shock Trooper Communications Officer together with a small radio satelite etc.

For the wingtip turrets: remove the grey 4x4 plates, replace with 4x4 turntable bases, now the turrets rotate. More play value! (I like the stud shooters.)

I'm glad to see a new minifig scale LAAT, but I kinda hate the color, the lack of pilots and the lack of turrets or any build to put in the meaningless storage.. this one feels like a miss in my book

so about the wing turrets its seen in the banking clan ark with rush clovice that the coruscant guard gunships the one this is based on does not feature the wing ball turrets instead they feature turrets more angled and flat which is an awesome detail they included into this design of the gunship
