Bas is one of the GOATS in MMA that never gets brought up in the conversation. Look at his record and look at the competition he fought, yet always over looked.
@@coreyprince3608 I'm not really sure, it just happens that I wanna check his yt channel this year and then boom it was gone. I'm still subscribed tho, he renamed his yt channel and privated all his videos.
If they get too close the throwaway strike hits them. If they dont stop you, it allows you to wind up for an even better strike. Its also somewhat of a feint. Thats some advanced shit right there!!!
Facts. I'm muy thai and only did jujitsu because I was getting messed up on the ground. I do these 'throw-aways' all the time. But once in awhile...when I set up a solid clinch, those 'throw-aways' land pretty solid 😉
Love this. I think it’s important to be playful and always remember how easy it can be to set up strikes. This was a great reminder and you(and bas) gave some great pointers
Shane its only a matter of time before your channel blows up!! Would love to see you commentating in the ufc one day! You have the knowledge, the charisma and the passion
Wauww just realised that ive been watching shane and this channel for more than 8 years😂. His old old vids with ant were sick back in the day. And your fight stories. You should bring those back man really
It's awesome to have channel that's not all just about BJJ. I'm not planning on becoming an MMA fighter, and just care about stuff I could use in the street. I've survived being jumped in the street by first and foremost hockey brawl experience, krav training, Judo training/throws without the commitment/RISK of bjj single- or double-leg takedowns, and my brain. No interest in 69ing dudes in the street and getting kicked by the other 2-4 guys (survived..actually, "won" several 3 vs me and one 5 vs me). Btw, kicks in the street DO work when done right esp low kicks but I have won a 2vsMe using a roundhouse head kick. Not impossible, though I only used when knew couldn't snag it. This channel is the BEST for striking strategy so far that I've seen. Great energy too.
I do this on combat games all the time, sometimes if they expect it to miss then miss 2 and do a devastating blow, or miss, parry their counter, then devastating blow, or fake rush, stop and block then quickly devastating blow 💀
Bas Rutten is one of the few martial artists that is a legit fighter, the guy worked security and had fights every night of his life. Decided he was good at it and folded countless amounts of professional fighters from around the world. Mad respect for big bad Bas, absolute legend.
I'm absolutely impressed with all your videos so far. You're somewhat unassuming. Which makes you incredibly dangerous It's nice to see a nice guy with all the skills .
Rutten's kicks were lethal weapons

The first time you get a good one to the liver is a moment that owns a corner of your nightmares forever. There’s nothing quite like it.

damn... I miss Kwonkicker
@@JMRVRGS where'd he go?
@@levity90 I don't know if it's true but some says he is injured (permanently? I'm not sure) and can no longer train or do martial arts.

I took classes from Bas in Hollywood at Legends MMA. Dude was soooo cool in person. Loved that era, man.

Beautiful Technique 🎉
Very nice advice

This is why sometimes old boxing legends would "Roll their hands". To mix the speed up and fuck with your opponents rhythm perception.
