We also have deer, foxes, scores of wildboars, river otters, american bigmouth fish on the lake, lots of wild birds . The foxes ate all of our chickens, ducks, and geese . We planted pecan trees, canadian suggar maple, pistacio, one Lebanon cedar . We are are enjoying so much your vides. ❤🇺🇸🇵🇹👏
Thanks! And yeah, Todd did a great job with the uplighting. We'll probably be adjusting or adding a few more lights here and there too. Can't wait for all the blooms too!
Another great video. Thanks for taking us along. Wally served as the inside project manager for the tree cuttings. I bet things are lighter and brighter in the house now. Can't wait to see the growth of what you planted.
Lovely video, always keep your property clean and beautiful with lovely flowers and see beautiful of nature's and lovely deers around your house! Awesome video! You're funny 😁!😉👌👍🤟🌷🌲🏡🦌🦋🐕❤️
Noticed the deer walking around. They love to eat hydrangeas, at least the ones here in the Italian alps do. They'll also eat any herbs and vegetables you may plant. And a lot of herbaceous perennials. I keep my woodland areas open to them, but 2000 square metres I keep fenced for the fruit, vegetables ad flower gardens. (we also have wild boar, which are phenomenally destructive. Hope you don't have them around the house!)
Luckily no boars (that we know of). But yep, we've witnessed the deer having a few meals on the hydrangeas already. We're hoping it's temporary until they find other spring plants in the woods. Time will tell.
Hey guys, love that view! I used to live in a forested area, be careful of deer ticks! Feeding birds is OK, if there is snow on the ground, but, I wouldn’t otherwise, too much poop on the deck, car, house, etc. Also, bird feeders will draw squirrels and raccoons, they are cute for awhile, but will become a nuisance and you will wish you never made that mistake. Hydrangeas make a nice flowering bush all summer into fall if you select the right species…Wisteria has a deep root system that may help with erosion on those steep banks, but you will need to keep trimmed back…good luck😊
Dogwoods, redbuds, crepe myrtles and bearded irises would really add that pop of color that you're looking for.... just a suggestion, enjoying your videos thanks for sharing boys!
Thank you Neil! Since we made this video, we’ve been admiring a couple white Dogwoods that started blooming. They are gorgeous😍 we also planted some irises 🤗 can’t wait to share what comes up this summer!
So Bulbs should be planted in fall (oct - Dec) so the bulbs can go through a good freeze underground. Even if snow, they love a good freeze before spring. Now north GA is located in planting zones 7a and 7b. You can plant them later in February if you miss the fall period as long as there will be some good cold weather coming. So planting your bulbs as late as the first week of April should be OK because you guys will be getting some very cold weather coming and that is good for bulbs. You may get smaller blooms though for the first year. But I think you guys should be good. So if a freeze comes, they will be good, actually. The time you dont want to plant bulbs is in mid spring, late spring, or summer or very early fall - will likely cause rot. The clearing of your trees gives you a great view! I LVOE your landscaping layout plan - it will be so gorgeous. So for any flowers you are planting that are seeds, be careful with a freeze. normally you want to plant in doors first for the delicate ones. But I think the ones you have there should be fine because they are hearty flowers. I see a beautiful purple Iris bloomed. Iris are very early bloomers, like Tulips. Some of the first to come out after the Daffodils - which come after the Snow Drops (I think). Your flower garden will be beautiful. The raised garden bed of veggies and herbs will be awesome. And yes - you are planting a Salad Bar!! I love it. You guys should coin that one. Right now I am on my back porch and I have a finch building her nest in my gutter on top of my house. She builds there very year. And mama Robin builds her nest on my front porch on top of the post on the inside of the porch for protection. She has like 4 batches of babies per year. I also have a few Mocking Birds building in my rose bushes. And last year, I actually had a Hummingbird build a tiny soft white nest on top of one of the flood lights. I put out a Hummingbird feeder every year and get gorgeous Hummingbirds. Too early right now. Wait until early summer when there will be no more cold spells. I NEVER buy the red juice in the store - causes cancer in them. I make my own juice - 1 Cup of regular granulated sugar and 4 Cups of plain tap water. Soft boil the water and sugar for just 2 minutes. Let come to room temp and pour in a feeder. I put it on a tall pole with a curve to hang the feeder on so I can enjoy!!! And want to know how to keep ants away???? On the bottom of the pole about a foot up from the bottom, put grease. Works like a charm. Blessings and hugs to you guys, Luana
@@toddandrob I hope I did not sound negative at all and I put alot of senseless info in there LOL, but I think all will be great and you guys will have a paradise of flowering trees, plants, and blooms. Gorgeous
Not at all. We both were talking about your recommendations earlier and saying how thoughtful your response was! We're all for the suggestions as it's all a work in progress. Keep the advice coming!
You guys are funny!😅 You need to check, but I think you're in zone 6 or 7...I think we're in zone 3 or 4 here in Montana, & you're farther south than us...Hey! Cool to see all the way around the house!
Stumbled across your channel and already subbed, beautiful place you both have. Not sure where your at in North Georgia but it would be interesting to see if we’re neighbors, my husband and I bought a 700 sqft cabin in Mineral Bluff Ga just above Blue Ridge a year ago the 22nd of this month. We have been slowly renovating it since we bought it and go every weekend as we are only an hour and a half away, we live in Milton. Happy days to you both and I will be following your progress. ❤
Glad you found our channel! And good to hear of another cabin remodeler too. We're in the NE part of the state, but had looked all around Blue Ridge/Ellijay/Mineral Bluff. That area is so beautiful. Cheers to y'all!
We certainly want to plant some more varieties! We currently have a TON of Catawba Rhododendrons and a couple Pacific Rhododendrons and Western Labrador Tea Rhododendrons🤗 The blooms are going to be next level and can’t wait to share!😜

Thanks! ♥️
You both got a beautiful home 🏡🥰👍
Aw, thanks!!
Such a peaceful place. Glad you guys get to enjoy nature and we kinda do too by watching your channel ❤
Absolutely! We could spend all day outside if we could. Especially before the humidity sets in later this year.
hey guys, what a beautiful property. was fascinated by the tree trimmers and how they worked. Looking forward to see how "your garden grows".
Thanks! And yeah, we were amazed at how swiftly they worked and did such a great job! We'll keep showing the progress of the garden and landscaping.
Oh Deer, well rest in peace bulbs! lol
Right?!😆 we shall see.
I went to UGA and always wanted to retire to the N Ga Mountains, but now my PTSD has me kinda trapped. Thank you for having this channel
Glad you are enjoying the channel. We hope that you can still visit the mountains from time to time.
Your garden sounds like an all-you-can-eat salad bar for deer :)
Definitely will be. But, hopefully we'll be able to deter them!
Your place is looking fantastic!
Appreciate it, Chris! It's coming along!
another great video. I love following along!
Thank you!👍
Great improvements and so much work! I love the uplighting on your trees! The flowers are going to be so beautiful and a wonderful burst of color!

See yall have olenty if wood for a WOOD BURNING STOVE. Please get one. Youll Love it
So great. We should do a Q&A with the family that would be funny.
That definitely would be humorous!
You are a very fun couple. Greetings.
Thank you! 😃

Definitely so! The views just keep getting better. And Wally wears a lot of hats around here, that's for sure! Ha

Guys should add some pots with flowers on d pouch
We actually just added 10 pots with a ton of annuals, among other plants. It really livened up the porch. We'll show them in the next video.

Greetings from northwest Georgia. Love your videos.
We appreciate it!
Don't forget to update us on who else besides birds shows up to visit the feeders...
For sure! We’ve caught the giant raccoon but not on camera… wonk wonk. Is it crazy we kinda want to see one of the bears stop over?!🫣🥴🤠😆

Northeast
@@toddandrob We had a cabin in Clayton and sold it a couple of years ago.
Todd seems to be having an off day. Not so friendly. 😕
Hi Nan! Its Todd here🤗 I certainly don’t mean to come across as unfriendly. 😕I’ve got nothing but love ☺️, and the best intentions🙏🏻☺️❤️
