If palpatine feared it, you know it’s bad
Yeah, from what I remember of the Krytos virus-- and the Death Troopers zombie virus-- it had to be *really* lethal if even Palps avoided it like the plague... so to speak. : )
I fear no man... But that thing *the anti-human virus* ... It scares me!
not bad. but terrifyingly devastating.
There so many things he “feared” so it’s like oh he is a wuss and the you look at the things and then you don’t want to go to sleep at night because how horrific it is
*Eck talks about Ships*
Me: Eh
*Eck talks about Star Wars Bio Weapons*
Me: 👀 *click*
Same but when he talks about bio weapons in any ubiverse
Depending on the type of bio weapon, I think they could single-handley make any Star Wars movie Rated R
Yeah better than kk giving us the movie we didn't want
Rahkghoul plague/ Muur Talisman is all I want at this point.
BLACKWING Virus is basically Dead Space level horror.
Mgnall mgnall level horror
@@JeanLucCaptainCould you imagine if the Galactic Empire accidentally discovered a Black/Red Marker
Palpatine's last words while falling down a reactor shaft: *DON'T LET ANYONE USE THAT BIOWEAPOOOOOOOOOON VADEEEEEER!*
An important plot point: Krytos does not affect humans, making it look like the humans didn't care and were hoarding the cure.
A virus killing anything within minutes would be horrible at transmitting it further, thus killing the very purpose it was made for. That's what makes this pandemic so severe is because of high transmissibility and low mortality rate. It's the mortality rate that's the 2nd main factor of how dangerous a disease or virus is. It's helpful for the virus to not kill their hosts too quickly, or even at all.
@@papapalps2415 I can give you plenty of examples of diseases that are indeed horrible and kills fast, but they never end up killing that many people because of their high mortality rate. This is one of the things I studied at university, biostatistics which comes with understanding prevelance rates and incidence rates as well as mortality rates. Some examples for this is the early SARS viruses, far higher mortality rates and very nasty viruses, however due to their higher mortality rate was far easier to contain than other viruses. On the other spectrum you have Herpes, which is a globally spread super common virus which many people have without even knowing it. Any virus killing its host fast which lead to a lesser degree of contagion due to the simple statistics of it: it will lead to not meeting as many hosts as it could've otherwise. What you would want for a utterly nasty virus is the following:
1.Long incumbation time, let's say two weeks.
2.Nasty mortality rate after said incumbation time.
Then at least you will have a higher chance of reaching a global degree of infection, but even better to make it seem like a normal cold at first, so maybe add another week or two before the final verdict of said disease or virus comes.
@@papapalps2415 But an even more simple example would be: If you're dying from said weapon within 1 hour, how many people can you meet to infect? If you knew or didn't know you were infected. And then ask yourself the same thing but make it a week or two weeks, or even a month, or years - (Looking at HIV and AIDS). While it might be 'cool' and fun to think of viruses as dangerous if they kill quickly, that's more of a Hollywood myth.
@@papapalps2415 You misunderstand, a high fast leading mortality rate doesn't do anything for the virus but to speed its existential demise, a quick death leads to a quick death for the virus itself. Every successful virus in our history tends to not lead into a quick death. Another example is the spanish flu or yellow fever, or the new delta variant of Covid-19. There are other ways to make said bioweapon more scary, like giving it a sort of activation genome if X thing happen(Science fiction) said virus will fully activate, but in the core of things a quick death from any virus leads to shortened existence for the virus. So you've completely misunderstood what I'm trying to say here. But you can always go out on pubmed or google scholar if you want to dive into the topic further!
@@papapalps2415 From a philosophical standpoint you have the perspective of the population, and then you have the individual perspective. And the high mortality rate would surely affect the individial thinking, much like the fear of a plane crash, despite the odds being so low of it happening for various reasons. However, from the usual perspective in terms of dangerous to society and on a global level it's common practice to deem and judge the dangers of viruses from a population perspective, and that's where the incidence and mortality rates ( x deaths per 100 000) comes from.
@@papapalps2415 Anyways, the virus that was talked about in the video was killing people minutes after infection, which was my point of it not being a very effective or dangerous virus in terms of population control (aka. used to kill larger populations).
#AskEck At the end of the Zillo beast ark in the Clone Wars, Palps asks his head scientist to clone the remains of the beast. Do you know if we ever found out what happened to that and why he did it? This is something that I have been wondering for years now, ever since I saw that episode.
As far as we know, there's nothing that's been seen or written about the Zillo Beast since that time. Which is a real shame.
I wanna say there was recent comic in which Kylo Ren killed one
I thought I heard somewhere that they used it to develop the armor for the At-Ats or something.
According to some mobile game, the separatists stole it and released 10 of them on corusant.
Of course this is not cannon.
Well a year later the Bad Batch show has your answer.
Having just re-read the X wing Book The Krytos Trap a few weeks ago, it's nice to see some of the X wing book events get referenced here. Love the X wing novels!
Disney has said Rouge Squadron won't be based o based on Legends X-WING novels, shame cause they had a lot of dogfights and the Imp infighting after Palpy died MUCH better V the Aftermath trilogy
So it's like the T Virus from Resident Evil, it causes cellular necrosis on an extreme scale but without the whole "flesh eating zombie" part.
Just imagine a game like that called Star War resident evil sounds kind of interesting.
#AskEck: If the Jedi Council had managed to kill Palpatine in a coup, how would the Galaxy have reacted? I can't imagine there is any way they'd be able to avoid serious reprecussions even without O66.
The light sabers could prove it. Plus Palps had a guy with him that also know who he was. So if the jedi find that out, they could use him to prove their reason for killing him. Plus Anakin knew aswell.
@@CoolMyron If you ask 100 senators why a Sith is dangerous, you'll probably get 17 who have an answer. To most of them it would just seem like the Jedi killed a rival religious figure. Also a lot of the Senate liked Palpatine.
....Its going to be messy is the truth.
@@krspaceT1 I would have to imagine senators would be more educated on the history of the republic than that. The sith's historical importance is way too much for nobody to know about them, even a millenia later. They're hardly a jedi specific problem.
@@krspaceT1 I just don't see how that's possible. I understand the general public but senators should definitely know their history. It's a little hard to forget the thousands of times the Jedi had to stop that Sith from killing everyone.
@@CoolMyron Palpatine did a masterful job of having the senate be loyal to him. The only way the Jedi could keep the senate in check, is by immediately enacting martial law and shutting the senate down entirely while also removing all military power away from each senate member. All of these are something the Jedi would never do so I just don’t know why they even bother in trying except that Palpatine was a Sith and they must kill him. Order 66 would still be a thing by default at that point and Palpatine gets the last laugh anyway.
Huh, I was thinking you'd cover the virus seen in Death Troopers. You know, the one that's pretty much a zombie virus straight out of Resident Evil.
The black wing virus
@@Warryn_Zale Ah, thank you.

Thanks to a fitful night's sleep, I originally read this as "The Disturbing BOWIE WEAPON..." and thought David Bowie had somehow appeared in the Star Wars Universe and I never knew about it.

Where can I search for the music's playing in the background ?

Love to see new chillwave fans. Makes me happy.
@@Ixe2077 I'm really new to this type of music genre and it's very much better than the weird crap I have to endure listening from others in my location.
The symptoms of the krytos virus sounds like what happened last time I try to listen to a lil pump album.
😂
Good point on how a virus that kills within minutes would really fail to infect a lot of people. You'd have to have them all gathered together and even then, anyone who's out of contact from the time the virus is introduced till they all die horribly is going to be (physically) fine. Though they may be rather shook up after their bathroom break when they return.
Really? And I thought Palpatine fears nothing or no one
He's cocky and arrogant but not stupid. If anything could ruin his plans it could concern him.
@@SuperGamefreak18 dang
@@SuperGamefreak18 Exactly. Similarly to this virus, Palpatine was concerned by the Vong. Some even say that hE mAdE tHe DeAtH sTaR tO fIgHt ThE vOnG

Ah another star wars zombie virus
WMDs exist for a reason but even Palps is over here thinking this thing is too much.

I find it funny that Palpatine was afraid to release this virus but was completely A-OK with Project Blackwing
Thanks I’ve been getting back into Star Wars
I wasn't scared! I was tactically hesitant.

#AskEch Hey Ech I gotta ask. What if instead of a Zilo Beast rampaging across Coruscant, it was Ghirdorah from King of the Monsters? How much damage could he do before they stopped him, if they're able to stop him at all given his durability and regeneration ability?
Why not Godzilla on Coruscant?
@@aboynamedsue1933 unfortunately I'm not sure Godzilla could move around as well as Ghirdorah or the zilo beast. He can't fly and he weighs a lot more than the zilo beast. One wrong step and he's going down several levels. Sure he could stay in the wider open areas but thats a little boring.
@@good7bad13 true true but imagine Godzilla attacking the jedi temple thatd be awsome asf
@@aboynamedsue1933 oh yeah it would be epic to see Jedi running on his back slashing his skin as he blasts the temple and topples the towers.
@@papapalps2415 I do agree on the long term scale but the short term won't be as cut and dry, particularly if we consider what he did to DC. Even if it takes an hour or so longer than the zilo beast, his effect on local weather patterns could cause untold devastation to the Senate building and if he clamps down on a power grid he could possibly vaporize a Venator that gets too close. I'm sure that he'd eventually be killed but I'm pretty sure if followed the zilo beasts trail and mission of going after Palpatine, I doubt that even Lord Sidious could survive three mouthfulls of lightning.
Can you do a video about Carter that healing thing? I kind of want to know a lot more about that too
It was called the peepeepoopoo weapon rated top bio weapons in fiction
Now I'm scared
Thanks
I never knew there was a disturbing weapon that palpatine even fear that's awesome
#AskEck What are some underrated, obscure legends comics or novels that you know? I wanna start getting into the lesser known, stranger parts of Star Wars EU lore as I find it really interesting. Love your content!
This is the kind of star wars lore we need
I wonder for the thumbnail for this video, I wonder where they got the blurred background image from?
Actually that blurred out image I believe is from the face melt scene from the Fly 2
I belive it is actually.
@@korkronwarlord That scene is one of the most horrifying and graphic scenes in horror films...
#AskEck What was the purpose of the Airborne Troopers? They had a really unique and cool helmet, but sadly had very little screentime.
Wow Emperor's Plague, Krytos, Project Blackwing...Palpatine certainly loved bioweapons.
Just in time
Oh this is neat.
Could you do a whole video on the history of alpha red
I’m assuming there must’ve been some bio weapons that were being developed by the separatists for use against the clones but what were they?
4:25 look at that droid go, he wasn't doing too good at the start of the match but then he broke the guard and landed some choice uppercuts
#askEck: Got an idea for a Bad Batch video: analyzing the military hardware that appears in weird places (such as the Pantoran police using Geonosian bikes, or Rafa Martez' DC-17 blaster) and why.
so basically Krytos is NURGLES BLESSING!
I've got a scenario that I would value your insight on. If the Tyranids from WH40K invaded the Star Wars Galaxy, do you believe their 'Shadow in the Warp' effect could sever Jedi/Sith from the Force within a certain radius of their fleet?
Neat
Do a video over blackwing, the death troopers audio book is so great
The Crytos Virus was something that could have become a apocalyptic scenario for the galaxy because it could have mutated to affect everyone and became much less deadly but more virulent.
When there's bioweapon involving huge genetically modified living weapon with tendrils then it may be Star Wars: Evil
Not even oni would go this far.
MONA LISA: Am I a joke to you
All you really have to do to make people interested in your video is say Palpatine feared it ; Great video man👍
What about the blue shadow virus from TCW?
I thought your name was eckhart slaughter untill I actually read the channel name 🤣
Fascinating....🤔🤔🤔
#AskEck Now that the relationship between Boba and Omega has been established, do you think that they will meet in the first season of the Bad Batch? Will Boba try to recruit Omega with the help of Fennec Shand? Or will they never meet at all?
Blue shadow virus
I find it weird that we denote "Human" and "Alien" in star wars... Like, the galaxy is more or less a singular political entity with varying levels of local autonomy. The only thing "Alien" should be non galacticly native species.
Yeah, alot of stuff switched to three categories, Human, near human, and non humans.
Most non humans in KOTOR great you as a "fellow sentient".
Humans are the dominant spieces and thus the standard.
As it should be.
@@revantobias8567 The Emperor of Mankind approves of this message.
#AskEck I haven't seen anybody talking about this but that cloned Kaminoan that landed on Fennec Shand seemed to be huge. Possibly some sort of Kaminoan supersoldier? Anything you've seen that might explain that?
Maybe it was a normal sized Kaminoan but my friend and I agree that man seemed to be set to Wumbo.
Some things are even too dark for Palpatine.
Hardly, he just had self preservation instincts and knew that bioweapons tend to evolve and adapt outside their initial design.
The LAST thing he wanted was a galaxy of corpses to rule.

What would you think if the KOTOR remake ends up being intergrated into the current Canon?
I wouldn't mind it as I personally enjoy both Canon and Legends
I would have something end all aspect of humans before I could witness a potential human space empire with our current mindset.
So Palpatine basically made a Flood virus and if Halo has taught us anything. Even if you destroy the coordinates someone will eventually stumble across it and let it loose
Now imagine if they know about the grey goo scenario.

#askeck what would to make the sequel trilogy more interesting ?
The life eater virus?
No, that's utterly indiscriminate. It's if the krytos virus was also a nanite swarm capable of spreading without delivery vectors, and effected everything alive, not just one category of species.
I'd love a zombie plague. Would be lotsa fun.
The Antihuman League was in a way a Antihero group. They of course where wrong doers , but they had legit reasons considering what the Empire did to non-humans to the point they had a very good reason. Then the Rebels come around , and it's still more near the same .
Hmmmm…..
They aren’t “aliens”; they’re non-humans. 😄
Thus Alien. Filthy Xenos...
Empire did nothing wrong
Bruh, even Palps himself knows that he’s done plenty of bad stuff as Emperor.
The real argument is whether or not the Empire’s wrongdoings like galaxy-wide Genocide are crimes that the New Republic can forgive after the Empire’s surrender to the New Republic.
Also, the only Galactic Empire I would pledge my life & loyalty to is the Fel Dynasty’s Galactic Empire, under Emperor Jagged & Roan Fel.
So has Sheev ever actually “feared” anything? It’s seems like he is just cautious and all like: “No we probably shouldn’t do that.” Instead of “OHH, I JUST SHIT MY PANTS!” cause I’m here wondering if anything actually made him “shit his pants.”
Well… Death I guess.
He experimented with pretty much anything and everything (I specifically remember the Blackwing virus for example as a failed Sith attempt at immortality that only created zombies)
@@spookyghostwriter3110 Yeah, but I was hoping for something a little more interesting, like something that outclassed him so much in power or capability that he was genuinely scared of it, that was actually a threat to him (ie not Abeloth or some other being that could influence but never directly interfere).
@@papapalps2415 Yeah, that makes sense, Anakin was no threat to him as a boy and Sheev's hole shtick was manipulation so no problem for him, but Luke was kind of a wild card. You know what? That's probably what Palpatine feared, wild cards, anything he couldn't "see" and couldn't control. (By "see" I mean understand or be hyper aware of)
@@papapalps2415 Agreed
#askeck if the galaxy’s supply of stygium crystals was exhausted by the Battle of Endor, what powered the cloak on the Anakin Solo?

Nebula class vs. Pellaeon class
Majestic class vs. Bothan Assault Cruiser
FOTR’s Mandator II portrayal vs. Subjugator

I mean, Stygium Crystals aren't the only source of cloaking tech, just the most efficient one. The cloaking device used by Thrawn in Legends didn't use stygium crystals, for instance.
Also, I wonder if artificial stygium crystals could be grown?
Also talking about bioweapons may not be a good thing for the algo.
Ah yes, my ex.
