I love the longbow so much. Like many new players, I was drawn to Kerillian for her bow mechanics, but eventually I was one over by the handmaiden. They did change his bow in the winds of magic DLC. In my opinion for the worse, although it's still a brilliant weapon. It suffers way more from movement inacurracy now. You really have to stand almost entirely still or the aim is unreaiable at medium to long distance. But I think you are correct about the extra zoom you can use on his ulti. This decreases the accuracy. And yeah the best time to release the shot is still sorta as the zoom approaches max. That is gonna be a huge part of the part 2 of this guide series! But if you want a quick tip or 2 to go right now I need class/hero/weapon specifics. Who are you struggeling to clutch with?
@@ThePartyKnife All of the classes but i love play witch hunter i use ubersrik weapon with critical hit increase attack speed and increase dodge range by 20 for the class and critical hits when i use the ability i play solo most of the time. I don't know if that's enough information.
@@bytaal7592 Try getting the 40% stamina reload whenever you push instead. If you already have enough mobility to get around, the issue seems to be getting stuck and overwhelmed. This issue won't be solved by more dodge distance, assuming you are using a weapon that already has a decent dodge. The 40% stamina recovery is always gonna appear when you need to be able to push the most in the order to make space for your dodge to be usefull. This is even better with rapier as it has 50% push cost like dagger weapons. Also remember that he has no block cost from light attacks to his front. If you also run stamina recovery on the trinket, do a push into jump into dodge and repeat. Always facing the enemies in between if possible. Thanks for watching and hope that was helpfulL! :)
Newer huntsman player here. I've watched your weapon tier guide/ other stuff/ have a few hundred hours played, but I'm still struggling with which weapon to really make use of with Huntsman. Would you suggest just sticking with the bow, overall throughout the difficulties? I swap between Mace/ Executioner sword for melee depending on mood, but I just can't settle on a ranged weapon that feels "right" in most situations. The Longbow feels nice, but in certain boss fights in quick play, we lack Monster damage, and I feel like the bow sometimes isn't very good at that, unless I'm completely misplaying. Could you offer some insight between his ranged weapons? I haven't really played around with blunderbuss or repeater with Huntsman-- Just Handgun/ Longbow
Personally I would go for the spear + longbow in 9/10 games! :) And make sure you have the ultimate talent that allows you to shoot while invis. Also like to grab the headshot giving +25% critical hit chance since reload speed doesn't affect the bow as mentioned in the video. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
It doesn't. It's most likely because when you release it faster the dummy is still staggered from the previous shot. Where as if you held the charged attack it won't be. Hope that makes sense and thank you for watching! :)
Man, I am going to watch all of your guides just help me choose. Should I buy version without dlc? Or version with all dlc. Its on sale on steam. Thank you
Why thank you very much my friend!! I appreciate that a lot!! I'm very likely biased here but I would most certainly get the bundle. But if you have to pick between them, get Winds of Magic --> Back to ubersreik --> Shadows over bogenhafen. Hope that helps andn thanks for watching friend!
As a person who came from fps games, I never liked ranged weapons that don't let me precisely one shot the elites and specials. So, I only use handgun/longbow/crossbow/boltstaff, depending on the character I play.
Not 100% sure what finger rolling is. But part 2 will focus a lot on determining the ''best'' weapons and how to best utilize their attack sequences. This will include both swap and block canceling for a few select weapons for sure. What is fingerolling? Now I'm getting curious :D and thx for watching!
Which are the best properties for kruber longbow? When i use my ult with huntsman should i use light or heavy attacks with the longbow? does it change if im using a potion?
The 2 best set of properties on the bow itself depending on your prefferences are as follows. 1. Crit chance + Power vs Chaos and Scrounger. 2. Power vs Chaos + Power vs Infantry and conservative shooter. -Get minimum of 10% power vs chaos on charm for either. If you get the talent crit% after headshot then deffinetly get the first 1. That way you also have the addeed bennefit of variation. Generating both 1 on headshot from his passive and 1 on crits. When you are shooting armored minions always get to the third and highest dmg charge. Same for specials. How long the charge is will depend on you attack speed. But it always initiates the ZOOM. So release it right as it does that. Use light attack headshots for hordes. While Ulti. You can spam light attacks all over the place for highest dps, but if it's a heavyly armored minion like chaosW/Banner or you are aiming far away still use charged attack to the face. Versus monsters your charge the attack if you can headshot. Otherwise spam light attacks. Only do this in ulti otherwise you will run out of ammo. Hope that helps and stay awesome! :)
Ohh yeah someone corrected me on that on reddit as well but I forgot to post the correction in a pinned commennt! xD Thank you very much for reminding me and taking thhe time to help me beingn accurate!
Hehe they can be tough to curry sometimes. Dunno if you have seen it but I do have a full guide on all the lords (except the new one) if that helps. Although admitedly sometimes you are just on the wrong hero to carry the wrong boss. But I would say the single most important thing you can do to up your winning rate vs lords in QP. Is rather than focusing too hard on beating the boss. Sometimes the best strat is to just take a chill pill, clear trash, and be observant. Anticipate that your team willl wipe. If one man is down then position yourself and be ready for that moment when they both drop so that you are already where you need to be to initiate the rescue. Thing thing is. If you can not die for long enough to have 1 spare ulti, and just survive in circles untill the moment of oppertunity. 9/10 times you can get that crucial first resque and get back into the fight. Hope that helps and thank you for watching!
Another tip to anyone who stumbles across this comment. If you find yourself dying to bosses, change your strategy and ignore any attempt to damage the boss. Focus 100% on survivability, dodging, blocking, etc. Don't even bother trying to attack. Your teammates (either AI bots or human players) will chip the boss down soon enough, and would rather have you alive and surviving than attempting to attack and then dying. If you die they will have to stop attacking the boss and attempt to rez you, and then they might die as well. Just focus all your effort on staying alive, that's 99% of how you get through bosses.
for non-ranged Krugers, a Handgun to snipe Specials and elites is better than Repeaters if you have decent aim. Repeater is simply too inaccurate for me to reliably delete specials at range. Shotgun is as anti-horde... just melee, or rely on other careers with superior options. unless you want to make a weird Anti-horde Huntsman for fun.
Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Personally I prefer the crossbow because it's more vercatile and has a higher rate of fire and can thus potentially kill more specials in the same amount of time. The advantage of the handgun is you don't ever need to worry about ''is it a headshot'' or ''is it too far away'' you simply shoot, hit, and the special dies. But it has a very long reload time. So they are each good in their own right!
Hey Knife person, i've been watching your videos for a while and they've trully taught me a lot of new things! I currently have 700 hours into the game and i'm still learning new stuff now and then. Anyways, i require you knowledge, me and my friend have been trying to clear Fortunes of War on legend for about... Forever? We've been trying since the dlc was release pretty much. Yeah, kind of embarassing i know. Me and him sometimes get to the last wave, but most of the time we die to packmasters and such, it's kind of random and i cant really tell whats going wrong, sometimes we find a strategy that works but then it falls apart and we change, or maybe we swap classes cause it worked well on a few runs but then it all crumbles down in the next ones... I would like to know if you have any tips for it, specially about good positions to camp on during waves, or maybe Bot gear and classes (they always burn through all the healing). I would be really thankful, i want to clear it so hard.
Thank you very much man I appreciate that a lot!!! And there are deffinetly a few (way more than a few) things that come to mind. But for sure step 1 HAS to be. 1. 3 x Homo Saphiens :D bot's are not a viable option. If you can only find 2 players. Honestly id execute the bot before starting at the side of the map and maybe ress him at wave 8 or as last resort if everything else is lost. 2. Discord. If you have tried for that long (which there is no shame in, trust me you are not the only one who's felt desperate on this map) then you need to communicate more and better. Even one guy with a mic who's not afraid to talk helps more than you might think. It snsures everyone is on the same page. 3. Specials spawns are something you hunt, not the other way around. After a while you are familiar with many of the spawn times/locations. Call them out ahead of time, and make sure that if you get grabbed by a strangler, you can be daym sure you took 2 others with you rather than flee from the bunch. You only know their location, when they spawn. Use that. Eliminate them ASAP. And call out if you noticed all 6 are dead, so your team is no longer worried about said threat. 4. Strict ressource rules is not a necessity but it can pay off. Lets say you are only gonna win at wave 8, if the conditions are good. Then it's better to decide that no one touches a heal/str/conc pot prior to wave 5, if you die you die, and well ress you next round. You might lose once or twice where you otherwise woulden't have. But the run where you do make it you have all the cards in in your hand, which is what matters. 5. Propper setup. Shade is a good hero, but not at all necessary. Build a team that can last and survive. Handmaiden 100% stamina regen aura for the team is massive! WHC marker dmg and +5% crit from specials to the team is huge. Battle wizard double tp / conflag staff has soooo much crowd control. Crowd Control keeps people alive, and Wave 8 is all about survival. One moment at a time. Even if you are simply just running, the monsters are dealing friendly fire, the specials are dealing friendly fire, maybe sienna has her burning dot on them. Any attack, on any minion, should immideatly be canceled if you feel the slighest worry. Going in circles for 3 minutes is value. In thosse 3 minutes your team had less to deal with and eventually can come to your rescue. Survive long enough and you win. 6. Don't switch it up 2 much. Play your best or second best hero, and play it with the weapon you have been grinding with for the longest and is the most familiar and comfortable with. And know the exact count of how many shots you need to kill the important specials with. 7. Stack up all the barrels, especially the lamp oil. Save em for wave 8! Use them! It's an insane amount of damage when the entire map is filled to the brink with enemies. 8. Don't cross aggro path's. Easiest way to avoid that is communication. Do we circle left around or right around. Who has the boss aggro? Is the guy who has boss aggro ok or does he need you to take it for just a moment? 9. Last thing that comes to mind as a sidenote. I can't stress the importance of understanding when you should and should not engange armored elites. Hypothetically. If you wiped and disablers weren't involved, you were most likely careless and lacked the patience to simple keep the train rolling even if you feel like it's going nowhere. Also if you ever lose more than 3 medium-long runs in a row. Stop. QP a match, get a win. Resume business refreshed and unfrustrated! 10. Aaand Here is a spawnguide for fow legend. www.reddit.com/r/Vermintide/comments/a7nl8e/fortunes_of_war_wave_spawn_guide_all_map_resources/ Good luck m8! I hope some of that was helpfull, and i'm sure you will get it done!
@@ThePartyKnife Thanks! it was helpful, specially the barrel tip, we havent cleared it yet but we get to wave 8 more consitently. You said you've soloed this before in one of your videos right? About that, can you actually kill subwaves past wave 8? or do you just run around the map until it's over?
Love your videos. One thing, it sounds like there is an issue with your mic. it sounds like you are constantly thumping it while you are talking and there is an annoying bass thump every few seconds while you are talking.
Aww thank you very much m8! :) Much appreciated! Both the compliment and the honest feedback! Also I think I recently figured out why. I quite often record it sentence by sentence. And aparently my microphone picks up the sound from my keyboard when I release Ctr+R which is the command I use to initiate the recording. xD
@@ThePartyKnife It also sound like you have a headset mic which in turn doesnt have a pop filter. You want to buy a cheap semi pro mic. I would argue getting a Rode NT-USB. Its quality wise between the Blue Yeti and Blue Yeti Pro, but just as "cheap" as the regular Blue Yeti and comes with both a stand and a pop filter. Something that is extra on the Yeti and overpriced. - I have stopped using headsets with mic and instead use a microphone and a small push to talk scrip that lowers the speaker volume when I talk ingame.
You forgot to mention that bardins shotgun and Saltzpyres cluster-fucker always have one projectile that's 100% accurate. For some reason that's not true for the blunderbuss
I was not aware of this! :) So what you are saying is that when shooting with bardin shotgun. Atlelast 1 of the pellets will always travel in a straight line? Cool tip. Thank you very much for watching and sharing!
Why is BoP so op in your opinion? I get that it's strong. Like, really strong. And I'd like it to be that way. But better then the crossbow? BoP is a comfy weapon. Enough ammo per clip so you don't need to reload mid fight and good ammo overall, barely noticeable aim punch so you can hit even when getting shot by the gunner, hitscan and a pretty good accuracy. But doesn't it fall off when compared to the crossbow? You need to reload mid fight, but it honestly only takes like half a second so it's only a problem when there are multiple high priority targets at once. It's not just pretty accurate, but perfectly accurate. This and the big range before you get dmg drop off can easily kill the stormer from across the map. It has a projectile that does have a travel time and drop off, but both aren't really affecting your ability to hit something unless it's a speedy assassin running from left to right. The overall ammo is worse, but is absolutely overwritten by the last point: It will oneshot. With the right properties for most specials oneshot bodyshot. So even without hitting any headshots you should still be able to get rid of ~17 specials, BoP will only ever get 15. Headshotting makes it only fall further towards crossbow, as the perfect accuracy any only needing one shot allows even me to get ~60% headshots. So I actually pretty much always get more then 30 specials before I need more ammo. BoP needs two shots that are not as accurate, so I'd hardly get close to 30. Not to forget the dmg drop off so no killing the stormer across the map with less then 4 shots. I like the feeling of BoP, but can never convince myself to using it, since it just feels like the weaker weapon on legend and especially cataclysm. :/
The crossbow is the better weapon on higher difficulties but in the same way everyone thinks the axe and falchion is super broken (when really it's just easy to use) most people feel the same way about BoP even though as you mentioned they aren't really better than the crossbow. Appreciate the love put into the comment and thank you very much for both watching and sharing your thoughts! :)

Things like just your takes on weapons and talents are some of the best parts and the most helpful. Most of all though keep making the videos you want to make and I'll keep watching them.
@@joelsharp9117 I very much appreciate that m8! And I will surely have some sort of bardin guide within too long. Because I've almsot made the trailer, which means I have no choice xD
Nice video. Next video should be a weapon review a video for every character incoluding ranged and melee weapons and how good they are in cata
The next video just happens to cotain something very similar to that ! :) Although I've been very carefull about it because telling someone a weapon they love to use is ''not as good' as another weapon seems to be a very touchy subject in the V2 community hehe :D
@@ThePartyKnife it just your opinion and you gotta admit there is weapons in this game that are not good for cata. In my opinion volley crossbows and fire pistols and maybe Swift bow and some are Less useful then others
SO lets do like a tire list video
@@Ahmad-vw3ug The thing is. I try very very hard to keep my ''opinion'' out of my guides as best I can, because I feel guides should operate in the domain of fact as much as possible. And when I feel it necessary with my opinnion I try to make it very clear that what im saying is an opinion. But you will get a tier list my friend, and much more in part 2!
Can you do how to control crowd when all your team is dead. I'm playing on legend every time i stand alone i get hits so i block and Dodge until i heal my team that's my weak spot i can't handle the crowd alone i know there's crowd control weapon i tried to do with it and i still getting hits.
Thanks! Never knew a lot of it
Newer huntsman player here.
@@ThePartyKnife Thanks for the response.
Why does Kerillians long bow charged attacks do more dmg when immediately release compared to holding the arrow for a Bit?
It doesn't. It's most likely because when you release it faster the dummy is still staggered from the previous shot. Where as if you held the charged attack it won't be. Hope that makes sense and thank you for watching! :)
@@ThePartyKnife aaah yes. Completely forgot the stagger applies on that too! Thanks mate
Understandable! Played quite a fair bit of FPS games myself! Anyways hope you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching!
@@ThePartyKnife Love ur content of course, keep them going man.
What about fingerrolling and qq cancelling? Part 2?
Not 100% sure what finger rolling is. But part 2 will focus a lot on determining the ''best'' weapons and how to best utilize their attack sequences. This will include both swap and block canceling for a few select weapons for sure. What is fingerolling? Now I'm getting curious :D and thx for watching!
ThePartyKnife ua-cam.com/video/Jx2CSJGGgMM/v-deo.html basically this explains some advanced mechanics and what I meant by finger rolling
how do you double tap the Brace of Pistols?
Doubleclick Mouse 1 :)
Does the quick reload cancel work on the repeater handgun still or has it been patched? Thanks for the guide!
Shotguns lost the ability to gain ammo on push ;-;
Ohh yeah someone corrected me on that on reddit as well but I forgot to post the correction in a pinned commennt! xD Thank you very much for reminding me and taking thhe time to help me beingn accurate!
Dude, I need help killing lords as of late in Legend, did they ninja buff their HP lately? Oo
Shotgun is as anti-horde... just melee, or rely on other careers with superior options. unless you want to make a weird Anti-horde Huntsman for fun.
is handgun or crossbow better
10. Aaand Here is a spawnguide for fow legend. www.reddit.com/r/Vermintide/comments/a7nl8e/fortunes_of_war_wave_spawn_guide_all_map_resources/
Good luck m8!
-
I have stopped using headsets with mic and instead use a microphone and a small push to talk scrip that lowers the speaker volume when I talk ingame.
@@Lobos222 Appreciate the feedback and I am in fact using a blue yeti mic now! :)
The overall ammo is worse, but is absolutely overwritten by the last point:
It will oneshot.
If yr a new player. Your probably playing elf .. haha😀. I always say . There no shortage of bad elves. I love when a level 20 shade joins my game., I have 60 days played on Xbox. I always say the elf should unlock last .
True story :)
And then theres me, the stubborn asshole wise first pick was the one that blows up if you user her ranged too much. Pyro life, bois
When I was a noob, I spent most of my time on elf, but mainly is because I loved handmaiden, who I still plays as my main, also I have been playing waystalker occasionally. For some reason I never liked shade.
Why is sienna not fun ? Is she bad ?
She is fun for sure! :) Just not a very friendly character for new players due to the overcharge mechanic allowing you too effectively kill yourself if you misplay :)
Bashing with shotgun doesnt give ammo anymore, unfortunately. No more doomguy build.
Yeah that has been fixed unfortunately :(
