The answer to #10 is pretty much what you said. It has to do with those weapons attacks having changed their damage profile to 2H Hammer light attack. 2H Hammer light attack is one of the only things (besides explosive barrel from what I can tell) that has a higher super armour modifier than regular armour modifier. The armoury mod only shows armour damage not super armour which is why you got confused. You can view the damage profiles (and more) in the breakpoint calculator spreadsheet and going to view -> hidden sheets -> attacks/damage profiles/armour modifiers to reference the numbers. The damage profile of 2H Hammer light attacks is blunt_smiter_2h_hammer_H if you want to skip some legwork. From looking at an older sheet, it seems that 2H Hammer light attack always had this property of higher super armour damage.
But.... but.... but.... IT HAS TO MAKE MORE SENSE THAN THAT!!!! XD How da fuq am I supposed to assume I can figure stuff out when it makes no sense haha 😂 Anyways much appreciated my friend and thank you very much for watching! :)
Knife, I've come here to say that you're the best channel for learning the mechanics of Vermintide. I'm new to the game and was struggling quite a bit to actually understand the mechanics behind attacks and whatnot, but the more I watch your vids, the greater understanding I have (as expected lol). Thanks for the hard work!
@@ThePartyKnife Since j_sat is gone I only watch you and ChocoB, your guides are very useful, I'm waiting for dmg evading guide, as I struggle with it most on Legend(maybe my bad reflexes and fps is at fault too). :) You next video about Breaking points sounds great, I always want to try some fun weapon combos like brettonian weapons for GK but everyone recommends Xsword... Never known how to set properties to reach breakpoints. I know the idea behind it, but don't know what works for what weapon and talents. ^^ You can also mention positioning, what is better - stick to the open areas or in the tight corners/bottlenecks. Edit: Oh forgot to mention, I admire your english skills, as it's not your native language(mine too), but you operate it with such ease, keep up the good work mate! :))
number 8 is properly known among players as "dragging", and is in almost every game with a melee system. it's because the hitbox of the attack is tied to where you are looking, so you can spin to the side to "drag" the hitbox over a wider area while it's active, some players also use it to hit easier headshots with certain attacks, aiming over the target and dragging the attack down so its first contact is with the highest point of the enemy's hitbox, the head for most enemies
also dragging has no impact on "slam" effects like flamesword, dagger and shield bashes, which create an aoe on the first target hit to deal their stagger, so you can drag the attack itself, but the slam that actually does most of the work only appears in the one area with a fixed aoe
Fantastic video again, these Top 10 tips videos are some of the most interesting videos you have ever made! Of course it wouldn't be Vermintide if there wasn't a few things to add :P - Regarding attacks that ignore shields there are also: 9:27 - Kruber's Sword & Shield + Brettonian S&S push attacks - Sienna's charged Conflag and charged Fireball staff attacks - Any melee attack while invisible (Shade, Huntsman, RV, HM) - Any attack from behind the enemy - (Pyromancer's Burning Skull and Waystalker's Trushot volley also go through shields) - (Bombs and barrels as well I guess but technically not melee mechanics) - Regarding damage over time effects - Push attack on Sienna's Fire Sword also applies the burn dot 12:57 - Sienna's Bolt Staff cannot apply a dot in any way :( 12:45 - Regarding weapon specials 1:31 - It is also nice to note that Saltzpyre's Rapier pistol shot can be used while holding block and does not cause your block to drop. This makes it very good at dealing with beserkers. So much hidden stuff in this game and these videos are a great source of knowledge presented in a good way. They are entertaining as well so keep at it if you can! P.S. One small UA-cam question, when you mention that you discuss something in a previous video e.g. 3:21 maybe you could add annotations with links to the videos that pop up on the screen at this time. This way people could easily follow links and discover your other great videos. If not an annotation, maybe even a quick pop-up edit in the video showing the thumbnail and title of the video you are referring to. Gotta keep spreading the content. Peace out my man and see you around. Saint P.
Much appreciate the comment and corrections m8 and you are right about most of those things but I do have a few correction to your corrections hehe! :D - Kruber's Sword & Shield + Brettonian S&S push attacks - 100% true I had just forgotten about this one being a new weapon :P - Sienna's charged Conflag and charged Fireball staff attacks - Would have been a worthy inclusion but they don't in fact ''ignore'' shields. Rather, they are capable of staggering through them in a single attack, allowing for dmg to go through. But the damage will be less on a shielded minion than an unshielded minion. - Any melee attack while invisible (Shade, Huntsman, RV, HM) - Should have probably mentioned this one so a great inclusion that I just didn't think about mentioning! :) - Any attack from behind the enemy - True. Although the angle in which this is the case is extremely narrow, and it's very hard to utilize to any effect without an IB taunt. Still could and should have mentioned it though, so nice inclusion. - Ulties and explosives - True and you kinda gave the reason yourself! :P - Push attack on Sienna's Fire Sword also applies the burn dot - Also true, although one of the most useless attacks in the game which Is probably why It didn't occur to me despite the fact that it's one of my most usedw weapons haha xD - Sienna's Bolt Staff cannot apply a dot. - Yeah a few people mentioned this and honestly I think that was just negligence on my part when voice recording... :P - It is also nice to note that Saltzpyre's Rapier pistol shot can be used while holding block and does not cause your block to drop. This makes it very good at dealing with beserkers. - Was saving that for the defensive video haha!
Absolute must see! I find Vermintides' documentation of weapon statistics and mechanics really lacking. Don't know if most players do not care, I find it mandatory to understand how things work, otherwise I could just swing different weapon skins. So thanks for the explanation!
The camera cleave I actually tried on my own very early in my Vermintide career, thanks to prior experience in Mordhau and Chivalry with delaying and dragging attacks in exactly the same way to bait enemies. Also it's pretty weird why you don't have ten times more subscribers by now. I found some other channels, but it's either just flexing the skills, or guy talking out of his ass about builds. Like, do this because I say so and it's good cause I use it.. You're the only person who actually provides facts and explanations.
Thank you for making good information video.😁👍 I have another information about this theme. Similar as Automatic Heavies section, dual hammer has automatic light attack after push attack. Push attack (stab) -> Light attack (overhead). In Armory mode, this light attack (overhead) is displayed as 4th light attack (L4). However, just with spamming dual hammer's light attacks, player never can't use L4. Because dual hammer's L4 is sequence attack after Push attack.
That is correct! I in fact mentioned that in my slayer mastery guide but admitedly I had forgotten all about it when making this video haha xD Thank you so very much for putting this valid addition in the comment section and thank you for watching friend!
14:53 the heavy attack used to be not accessible until you finished the followup just like glaive. then fatshark changed it so you can chain just the poke. this was pretty early days, maybe even beta
I was trying to figure out why you, one of the best vermintide 2 youtuber don't have more views and subs. I think it's because your videos are too technical for the average player. you should do a summary of your video without the math and stuff at the start of the video for noobs and the rest of the video would be for the pros. hope you get the recognition you deserve soon.
Aww thank you so much man! :) You are the real MvP though! As soon as I see your name on the comment I already know it's going to be something extremely nice! or ''comment'' for the algorithm! :D And I very much appreciate them both haha 😂
I'm a noob watching these videos and I can say yeah I need a bit of help with which things to focus on mastering first. Need some 101 courses to accompany your PhD in Vermintide courses :P
#7 - to be fair to most people, it's not like Fat Shark did a very good job communicating how to even use the beam staff. There's no sound or any animation visuals indicating that the beam-sniping burst attack was even a thing. Like why not add a little explosion, or send a little spark through the beam to communicate that there's a separate attack you could activate when doing that?
hey! Do you have a guide somewhere that explains stagger strength, stagger resist, pushing, stagger level and so forth? Id like to find out how to calculate stagger(level) in mixed hordes with different attacks / pushes.
*9. Mass Modifiers:* the formula that you used had me slightly confused at fist, so just for clarification, it's: DMGCleaveMultiplier * (1 + Buffs) / (Mass / MassMultiplier) = DMGCleaveMultiplier * (1 + Buffs) * (MassMultiplier/Mass) = DMGCleaveMultiplier * (1 + Buffs) * MassMultiplier / Mass You just missed the parentheses, but I added the second two equations in case someone isn't fully aware about how inverses work.
Question: For the ranged attacks specifically, that ignore shields, do you still have to hit headshots? Because you did and for me that would kind of negate the fact that they "ignore" shields. Either I did it wrong (not charging up enough) or my Siennas attacks did just not penetrate through a Shieldvermin except for the times I actually hit a headshot. Same goes for my Bardin Handgun.
Yes and no :) The dmg bonus as it states ''on first hit'' is not part of the cleave calculation. It works more like smiter and only affects the dmg output of target 1. I was considering using the Slayer but you know... Height difference in the camera. xD Anyways thanks for watching m8!
number 2 you forgot the Kruber’s spear. It works kindda similar to the great hammer. It can damage multiple armored enemies with crits but also damage 1 target hit and stagger anything on its cleave path.
There should be a key bind for ''Inspect Hero''. Mine is on X but I'm not 100% certain if that is also the default bind. Assuming that is what you were referring too I hoe that helps !:)
Yeah the reason you got confused about Tank modifier on Chaos Warriors is cus you think about "Armour Cleave Weapons" which is incorrect, the correct thing to think about is able to cleave through *Cleave Resistant Units* attribute, yes they are mostly Armoured (SV, Bestigor, Chaos Warrior, Wargors) but also Maulers which are not Armoured, but they are all classed as *Cleave Resistant,* the ability to cleave through these resistant units is simply a yes/no function on a weapons Attack and the reason Tank is 1000% is to make sure that attack can cleave through everything else but *Super Armour,* those being Chaos Warriors and Wargors. Oh and for those who don't know, it's not the Mass Modifier itself that determines the ability to cleave through these units, they are completely separate independent functions but usually the modifiers are applied for those attacks that are able to cleave through them. Another example to think about is Great Hammer vs Dual Hammers. The Great Hammer heavies and the Dual Hammers Cleaving heavy Attacks have the exact same Damage/Stagger Cleave Values AND both have Tank Modifier, yet you'll notice the great hammer CAN cleave through every cleave resistant Unit (besides Super Armour) and yet the Dual hammers can not cleave through any of them as the Dual Hammers do not have the "yes" in the able to cleave through Cleave Resistant units "check box".
Haha no problemo my friend the pleasure was all mine! :) I'm not a snowflake gamer (anymore xD) and I would never be mad about playing with someone trying their best even if they were failing. And just to be clear I'm not saying that you did fail ... :D
