@@LDSystemsVideos if it's true that the horizontal coverage is 120 degrees it's important how far are tge speaker from walls and even more important how far are the speakers if you want to use 2 column. If you place 2 column at the side of dj boot with 120 degrees spread it's 100% sure you will have combfiltering in 60% of the room..... Do you agree maybe a single column can sound better?

We just A B'd the 2 systems you mentioned today and came home with the 2 x 11's...... And our minds are blown! I went to Thomann with the intention of buying 2 x 28 g3, but tried them all, but the 11g3 won the day for us.

Ahhhh. STILL no USB connection, and phantom power on the up coming G3 mix!! So frustrating! These are essential I think so it’s still a no from me I’m afraid. These weren’t on the G2 but I was hoping the G3 would get there. You have rightly added the effects that weren’t on the G2, but still fall short for me. Hopefully a G4 will include USB and phantom power. The wait continues 🤦♂️
Dissapointing.. I was hoping for that on the upcoming MIX version too. I have the EV Evolve M30 with mixer and phantom but recently sold it. I really don't like BOSE but I might have to go with it since its the only option. I have the LD MIX 62A G3 and love it as my monitor/outs at my shows.

Hello! Thanks for this video! I'm thinking about buying one of those. I play solo concerts (piano/singing/drum loops) in bars, restaurants, but also outside weddings (200 people max). I don't have any sonorisation system for the moment and looking for the most versatile option. My question : should i get two Maui 11 G3 or just one Maui 28 G3 (two 28 G3 would be too expansive for the moment, but maybe add an other one later to have a stereo sound). Is there a sound quality difference between the two models? I don't necessary need a lot of bass or big power. My priority is to have a nice clear sound to fully reflect the sound of my piano and my voice. Thanks a lot!!
Hello Thomas, the biggest difference between the two systems is in the bass response and the overall performance. In your situation, I would recommend going for 2 MAUI 11 G3s as you will then be more flexible and can also fall back on just one MAUI for smaller events. The number of people you can cover with sound always depends on the conditions on site, which is why it is very difficult to make a firm statement. But with 2 MAUI 11 G3 you should be able to cover a number of people in a closed room as you have described. The best thing to do, of course, is to test the setup. Perhaps you have the option of ordering all 3 and then sending one back.
I love our Maui 28 g1's so much. They are gigged so hard every weekend and have been for pushed for years without any issues whatsoever. I can only imaging how the G3's are. I love the sound of LD systems. Everything I've ever heard of there's sounds amazing
Great Video. I am a fan of Maui systems ever since I met them. Now, I have a question... I want to update my current PA system (not maui) into a Maui one. My setup allows me to play for 300 people outdoors with club levels of volume. And it has 2 pairs of subs and 2 pairs of full range speakers. I love being able to take a single 15" or 12" full range speaker for a small gig, send 2 separate stereo systems for 2 mid sized gigs or take it all into one big gig. And that is the objective. I was thinking about a combination using a maui 44 and a smaller maui 11 or maui 28. But I dont know how different they actually perform (specially in the subwoofer). Subs are very important to me, I have a pair of 600 watt 18" subs and a pair of 1200 watt dual 18" subs currently, a pair of 15" full range speakers and a pair of 12" full range speakers. And I use my subs up to their safe limit almost always. So... any advice? Versatility and foorpring is key here. That is why I am switching to a more compact and user friendly system. I wanna be able to rent a single column array for a small musician presentation in a coffe shop or take it all and set up a mobile club system outside under a huge tarp if needed

I have taken delivery of 2x maui 28g3s today. I will be using both in a small bar that love loud music. How close can I set these up together as my space is about 6 feet by 6 feet. Just worried about any phase distortion issues.
Hi Robert, it is not possible to answer this question as there are many factors that can affect the quality of the sound, such as the size/format of the location, the height of the roof... Just try to keep the speakers as far apart as possible to avoid phase problems.
@@didjelodj6667 We would recommend using 2 x MAUI 28 G3 so you can have a larger sound dispersion and two sound sources that can work at lower volumes instead of one that has to be very loud to fill the room. Regarding the distance between your systems, if you maintain at least 6 feet of space between both columns you'll be fine. Hope this helps!
For some reason, my G3 11's do not seem to be working properly. I own 2 systems, and I connect the 1st speaker via Bluetooth. Then i ran a cable from the thru on that system to the 2nd system and into the input. But nothing. It worked before and now it does not work. So I don't understand what could have happened. When I go direct via XLR to each stack, they work fine. But for some reason, I cannot daisychain the stacks where bluetooth is the primary source on the 1st system. Any idea? I've also tried switching the speakers and same result, nothing. It seems like there is no signal coming out of the system that is connected via Bluetooth. I even tried the sub out option to the other sub, and also nothing. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hello there, This should not be an error because the Bluetooth signal is not sent to the Thru-Outs. We are therefore very surprised that it has worked for you before. Was it definitely just a Bluetooth signal or did you have other signals at the input of the first MAUI?

This is usually always a matter of taste and there are a lot of different mixer. But we can give you the tip that from the second quarter of this year our MAUI will be released with an integrated mixer. maybe this is a good option for you. ;)
Baptiste or any LD systems person will never answer that question because they work for a brand and have to sell you that brand. Now, their recomendation is gonna be top notch since they sell top notch stuff in LD systems (believe me, I used almost any brand you can imagine when it comes to Audio and they are up there everywhere except for some microphones). Now, as a second option outside of LD systems, you just need to follow some simple rules to make a good purchase. You want a reputable brand. You want a good series of products (not good enough, actually a bit over the monimum spec you need). You want new stuff or you want to actually know the stuff you buy is reliable, has been treated nicely, it has maintenance, it is clean, has no problems and can be returned if it fails on you short after purchase (know the seller personally). And If you dont know what specs you need, go to several places, ask, explain your needs, explain what is your reference and ask for 3 to 5 recomended products that fit your needs (a cheap one, a middle of the road price, a no price objections option and some in between). Ask to other people in the industry (people working with mixers for a living or as profesionals in their hobbie). Telk them someone recomended you x,y,z mixers and listen. Some options will get consistent feedback of "you don't need so much" and some wil get the "you want to go above that if you want good results". Now you can set a refference and go for something in the middle based on research, seller recomendations, profesional feedback, personal taste and budget. A brand that never lets me down for the price is behringer, but there is better stuff than that if you pay a little more. Like LD systems for example. Or you can go for the top notch stuff of any reputable brand (including behringer, LD, QSC, Yamaha, Midas, Etc) and pay for being sure even without knowing the stuff.

If you ask us: You should buy both :) On a more serious note: A stereo setup does have some advantages and can give you more flexibility. Depends on what you intend to do with your speakers.
There are many factors to consider when adjusting the volume. An exact specification for the Unity Gain is unfortunately not available. The basic setting when using a mixer would be 50%./ middle.
I just ordered the 28 for my small band. Apart from excellent reviews the main reason is the lack of a mixer. Love the pure simplicity. Keep it simple, but good :-)
No, this model is designed for people who only need a PA system. If you want the MAUI G3 with this type of input, the MIX version will be released next year.

Unfortunately no, the follower subwoofer needs to be set up to cardioid on, and this is an LD specific DSP setting that you will only find in the MAUI series (MAUI 44 G2, MAUI 11 G3 and MAUI 28 G3).

It always depends on the size of the room, the shape of the location, the weather conditions, the type of materials around the sound system… But under the best conditions we can say that the MAUI 28 G3 with 2060 W peak can work well for around 100-200 people. :D

Hi, I'm a DJ and I own a pair of Ld maui 28 g3 and I can tell you that apart from the parties I go to with the system, I also use it at home in the living room (25 square meters) and it sounds incredibly clean, crystal sound, I don't have to turn the volume very loud, of course, because everything around starts to shake, but this can also be adjusted from the system/mixer settings, if you are going to parties with the ld system, I recommend that for more than 50 people on the dance floor, you add SEPARATE a subwoofer (not necessarily an ld one, I added a subwoofer from another company, 15 inches)) especially if you play songs with heavy bass frequencies, Hip-hop, techno in order not to force the subwoofers from the maui 28g3 ld system and avoid the yellow warning light appearing too often, and if you go to parties with the system, please don't have too many tall people like Baptiste in front of the sistem on the dance floor, because the sound intensity will get lost (low mids especially)!This man is as big as a mountain and this system seems small when he stands in front of him!

Taille et configuration du lieu, type de musique, public, niveau de pression sonore souhaité… C’est certainement possible avec un système mais nous recommandons que tu testes le système au préalable pour te faire une idée précise du rendement.

Hi Lambert, sorry for the late reply here and thank you for your interest and feedback. There are many differences between MAUI 28 G2 and MAUI 28 G3. When we look specifically at the column: New, larger speakers with 3.5". There are less (12 iso 16) but those 12 larger speakers offer a larger membrane surface. Hence move more air. MAUI G2 = 16 x 3" = 355.12 sq. in. MAUI G3 = 12 x 3.5" = 362.46 sq. in. The column of the G3 uses improved components for even more durability and sound quality. Plus we added the complete new cardioid column design which is a huge plus for many reasons (see video or landing page for details). The MAUI 28 G3 has been acoustically designed to be a real fullrange column speaker, without the typical low-mid gap that you can experience with almost any other speaker out there. We highly recommend that you take the time to listen to both systems side by side so you can get an accurate picture of how different they are and which system appeals to you best. The G2s are great and we are very proud of what we achieved with these speakers but of course our engineering team is constantly trying to push to the next level with each update, so we consider the G3 to be the better sounding speaker. Yes of course. You can use the thru output to connect any active system to a MAUI G3. So you can connect another system via XLR.
In theory this would be possible. We‘ll get back to you on that. It would mean replacing the complete amp unity. This is not a simple upgrade.

No, the MAUI G3 MIX will be released this year. Unfortunately, there have been unforeseen problems with components, which is why the release of our MAUI G3 Mix has been delayed until the end of the year.

there are currently no plans to realize a Maui 44 G3 in the near future. It will certainly take another 2-3 years until the Maui 44 G2 gets its successor
Can you tell me. Which mixer? produces good sound. I want to buy 2 speakers. But I haven't found a good mixer for the g3 yet
This is usually always a matter of taste and there are a lot of different mixer. But we can give you the tip that from the second quarter of this year our MAUI will be released with an integrated mixer. maybe this is a good option for you. ;)
Baptiste or any LD systems person will never answer that question because they work for a brand and have to sell you that brand. Now, their recomendation is gonna be top notch since they sell top notch stuff in LD systems (believe me, I used almost any brand you can imagine when it comes to Audio and they are up there everywhere except for some microphones).
Now, as a second option outside of LD systems, you just need to follow some simple rules to make a good purchase.
You want a reputable brand.
You want a good series of products (not good enough, actually a bit over the monimum spec you need).
You want new stuff or you want to actually know the stuff you buy is reliable, has been treated nicely, it has maintenance, it is clean, has no problems and can be returned if it fails on you short after purchase (know the seller personally).
And If you dont know what specs you need, go to several places, ask, explain your needs, explain what is your reference and ask for 3 to 5 recomended products that fit your needs (a cheap one, a middle of the road price, a no price objections option and some in between).
Ask to other people in the industry (people working with mixers for a living or as profesionals in their hobbie). Telk them someone recomended you x,y,z mixers and listen. Some options will get consistent feedback of "you don't need so much" and some wil get the "you want to go above that if you want good results". Now you can set a refference and go for something in the middle based on research, seller recomendations, profesional feedback, personal taste and budget.
A brand that never lets me down for the price is behringer, but there is better stuff than that if you pay a little more. Like LD systems for example. Or you can go for the top notch stuff of any reputable brand (including behringer, LD, QSC, Yamaha, Midas, Etc) and pay for being sure even without knowing the stuff.

On a more serious note: A stereo setup does have some advantages and can give you more flexibility. Depends on what you intend to do with your speakers.
Please get a newer canadian distributor I want to buy this system and the 44 g2 and can’t buy them anywhere in Canada

There are many factors to consider when adjusting the volume.
An exact specification for the Unity Gain is unfortunately not available.
The basic setting when using a mixer would be 50%./ middle.
I just ordered the 28 for my small band. Apart from excellent reviews the main reason is the lack of a mixer. Love the pure simplicity. Keep it simple, but good :-)

No, this model is designed for people who only need a PA system. If you want the MAUI G3 with this type of input, the MIX version will be released next year.

Hi, the MAUI 28 G3 will not have a wall mount accessory. Since the launch of MAUI 28 G2 we also released the MAUI i1 which is designed for fixed installation on walls.

Hi, the MAUI 44 G2 is here to stay! No G3 coming in the next 3 years at least! The smaller ones (MAUI 28 and 11) just got updated based on MAUI 44 G2. All good, go for it!

No, this is not possible.
Can I use follower mode and get cardioid effect with a sub from another manufacturer?
Unfortunately no, the follower subwoofer needs to be set up to cardioid on, and this is an LD specific DSP setting that you will only find in the MAUI series (MAUI 44 G2, MAUI 11 G3 and MAUI 28 G3).

Hi SILENCE Deejay, this is not an easy question to answer. It always depends on the size of the room, the shape of the location, the weather conditions, the type of materials around the sound system…
But under the best conditions we can say that the MAUI 28 G3 with 2060 W peak can work well for around 100-200 people. :D

You have the option of connecting a second subwoofer via the Sub Out. With the MAUI 28 G3, you can provide sound for around 250-300 people. However, this is only a guideline that always depends on the location and the conditions there.

Hi Mitch, sorry for the late reply, it all depends on how big your home is and how loud you like to listen to your music / movies etc. MAUI 28 G3 was not made for home use, it was designed as a sound system for musicians and DJs who want to cover audiences of up to 300 people. But: a lot of people use our MAUI systems at home because they simply love the way it sounds. So, it's pretty much up to you :)

Hi, I'm a DJ and I own a pair of Ld maui 28 g3 and I can tell you that apart from the parties I go to with the system, I also use it at home in the living room (25 square meters) and it sounds incredibly clean, crystal sound, I don't have to turn the volume very loud, of course, because everything around starts to shake, but this can also be adjusted from the system/mixer settings, if you are going to parties with the ld system, I recommend that for more than 50 people on the dance floor, you add SEPARATE a subwoofer (not necessarily an ld one, I added a subwoofer from another company, 15 inches)) especially if you play songs with heavy bass frequencies, Hip-hop, techno in order not to force the subwoofers from the maui 28g3 ld system and avoid the yellow warning light appearing too often, and if you go to parties with the system, please don't have too many tall people like Baptiste in front of the sistem on the dance floor, because the sound intensity will get lost (low mids especially)!This man is as big as a mountain and this system seems small when he stands in front of him!

Hi Eric, no, two systems can be connected via XLR with the THRU output for instance. But MAUI G3 doesn‘t feature TrueWirelessStereo like on the MAUI 44 G2.

No, the MAUI 44 G2 has different columns. The tops of M44G2 have 4 tweeters and are filtered differently.

Bonjour Samuel, le nombre de personnes que tu pourras “sonoriser” un système dépend de nombreux facteurs. Taille et configuration du lieu, type de musique, public, niveau de pression sonore souhaité… C’est certainement possible avec un système mais nous recommandons que tu testes le système au préalable pour te faire une idée précise du rendement.
bonjour samuel. vous y jouez facilement, si vous ne voulez pas subir de dommages auditifs de la part des invités, c'est toujours suffisant. il y a une semaine, j'avais environ 140 personnes, je pensais avoir besoin de 2 Maui 11 G3, pas du volume mais d'après la vérification de la qualité sonore, 1 maui 11 g3 était suffisant et je n'ai même pas conduit à fond, j'avais encore plus de 30% de réserve. tant pis pour votre question. 1 maui 28 g3 suffirait. pour une fête que vous besoin de 2, mais pas pour un mariage.

It seems that the only difference between the two systems is only at the bass level !
It seems that the G2 offers more mids...
Question: Except the bass, is the G3 really better than the G2
Hi Lambert, sorry for the late reply here and thank you for your interest and feedback.
There are many differences between MAUI 28 G2 and MAUI 28 G3.
When we look specifically at the column:
New, larger speakers with 3.5". There are less (12 iso 16) but those 12 larger speakers offer a larger membrane surface. Hence move more air.
MAUI G2 = 16 x 3" = 355.12 sq. in.
MAUI G3 = 12 x 3.5" = 362.46 sq. in.
The column of the G3 uses improved components for even more durability and sound quality. Plus we added the complete new cardioid column design which is a huge plus for many reasons (see video or landing page for details).
The MAUI 28 G3 has been acoustically designed to be a real fullrange column speaker, without the typical low-mid gap that you can experience with almost any other speaker out there.
We highly recommend that you take the time to listen to both systems side by side so you can get an accurate picture of how different they are and which system appeals to you best. The G2s are great and we are very proud of what we achieved with these speakers but of course our engineering team is constantly trying to push to the next level with each update, so we consider the G3 to be the better sounding speaker.
