1) Dope reviee CT, as always. 2) I very much love the aesthetic upgrade to look far more in line line with the 44 G2’s. 3) Very happy to see the UI is more consistent across the Maui line with the intro of these updates.
Hey Terry just before you showed the back I was sayin I don't need mixer at the back ,and drinks fallin by drunk party goers won't be problem I love it
I have the G3s and think they can cover up to 175 depending on the room. With the ability to adjust the volume and bass on the back, it has never been an issue of not enough volume but too much volume were we are told to bring the music or sub down.
I have had Bose, Maui, Ev, My Choice is the EV 30 & 50 rugged and workhorses my opinion Clevelandterry Rocks I really appreciate your quality reviews being a professional musician and dj
Forget bose, hf is very weak, ev lack of mid low frequency and sound pretty thin. LD has all frequency make it sound natural like wooden speakers. Make a smart choice and listen to yourself
What are your thoughts on running a pair of these with a lightweight 18" sub like a Mackie Thump for events where you want more bass for when you wanna use column speakers instead of regular PA boxes?
The good thing about the 44's is that you can take just one for parties with up to 100 people in smaller rooms and comfortably take on larger (200+) guests with two in medium size rooms. I still run two 28 G1's and have yet to make the decision to go for the 28 G3 or 44 g2. With two 28 G1's i can handle about 100 guests in a small room, and i wonder how much of a difference actually the G3's make?
Dude I played a party the other night with 500 people in a huge room I used one of those speakers and it filled the room filled the dance floor with sound
Dope review. I like the sound on these. Are you familiar with Audios wireless loudspeakers? They are a startup that could probably benefit from a review. Keep up the good work. You're helping a lot of novices like myself. Thanks.
Evox j8mix is cheaper, adjustable pole is way more versatile, change the height in a second, turn the top without touch the sub, or placing the sub facing a corner and have the top in the centre of the room. 23 kg, smaller/discrete top, and the main benefit, it's a pure array, no crossover, better uniformity in long distances... I assume that They put an horn tweeter to reach long distances, but If 3-4 people stand in front of the array, the sound will be attenuated by a lot because most of the drivers are at human height. Db technologies es 802 is way lighter, and you can buy 2 of them for the price of 1 maui
I like the simple, no frills approach to this review, like a Tech Thursday extension. However Cleveland, from the way you use the term "Cardioid mode". It seems like you do not fully understand what that alignment is meant to do. Increased bass output in the forward plane is just a small side effect of its true purpose. If increased bass output is what you desire its best to just leave the additional subwoofer in normal mode. For example, the addition of a subwoofer in a normal configuration will add 6dB of additional output, while cardioid mode will only add 2-3dB at best. Cardioid mode's true purpose is actually to significantly attenuate the bass output behind the subwoofers, usually by 7-15 dB in most configurations. For DJs, especially those who like to put their subs in front of their booth; under the table they mix on; or have a wall close behind them, this removes a lot of the excessive bass that they would otherwise be subjected to. Some DJs and live bands like that excessive bass, but to most its overbearing and also makes monitoring difficult for live performers. So, enter cardioid mode. But don't take my word for it. Do some research and fact checking please. Thank you for doing this review. Viewers with an objective mind should find it very informative and useful!
I have taken delivery of 2x maui 28g3s today. I will be using both in a small bar that love loud music. How close can I set these up together as my space is about 6 feet by 6 feet. Just worried about any phase distortion issues
@@ferrier3have you still got the 28g3’s ? I’m in the UK too and looking at real world uk 🇬🇧 reviews as we know our rooms and crowds are usually smaller than the us. Cheers
No eq. whatsoever, even via an app? Also you didn't address the obvious: how do they compare (loudness) to the classic line-array trio: EV50, JBL PRX One, Bose L16? I found "quality" is not as important as "loudness" on a wedding dancefloor.
That lack of EQ or a mixer was an intentional choice because of how many DJ’s & musicians run external mixers for more control, so no point in adding a mixer if it’ll never be used. Same thing with a lot of RCF units. I LOVE my ART912A’s because it’s super simple to just plug in & go, no need to EQ or adjust since I do that on my external mixer anyway.
@@AllenFern24 i was hoping that there would still be a basic eq. via the app. I agree I would never use a built-in mixer, i only need one input (I don’t even need a stereo input). Yet having a basic eq. and/or feedback suppression DSP saved my ass on multiple occasions. If the 28G3 is louder than the EV50/PRX-1, I’ll still grab a pair even without built-in equalizer.
I do NOT understand why you would pay so much money for this kind of sound in general, 127db is pretty weak for this money! A 15" Sub 615 DB Tech at500$ and a 10" Top RCF 910a for 500$ it's about the same money or less and you have a much better sound and louder!

Yeah but only one looks dumb
In Cardioid Mode the Arrays should be able switch direction. Makes no sense for highs to face backwards. I would love to hear these vs. EV Evolve 50s.
Where do your 32s fit now if this is your go-to?
How is the bass compared to the RCF J8's?
How does it sound if compared with
JBL Prx 1
EV evolve 50
HK Polar 12
FBT cs 1000
RCF EVOX 8?
In summary, compared to the rest of the world 😝 but you forgot db technologies es 802
I think I am going to go with these 28s although I wish I could afford the 900.
hey dude. have you heard the evolve 50? if so, how would you compare these? loudness? definition? throw?

what is cardiode mode? Thanks for the demo.

How would you compare a stereo set of these in cardioid mode to the 44g2 in regular mode?

I’m wondering the same, I wish he’d reply, also called NLFX Pro and Ben Stowe recommends them over the 50’s. They are not available to order yet.

So vs ev50 do these sound better ? These throw 1030watts rms 127db when ev50 is 1000watts total .

Anyone know if and how to pair 2 of these together via Bluetooth?
