thanks ed! It's my absolute favorite song. I learned this from the Magpie album "Little Brother's unissued recordings. Vol. 1 'These are what I like'". I consider his rendition on that album to be one of, if not the, greatest piano blues recordings of all time.
Love this angle on the piano - a great blues performed with feeling- my hearing is not good these days and I have a job picking out tunes by ear; but here I can watch the hands play the notes and even if I only remember half ot them I'm half way there!
This is soo good you nailed it! Brother Montgomery had style of his own tremblin blues and vicksburg blues my two favourites. Keep his legacy alive. Thanks
I believe the first time it was recorded was during an interview with Paul Oliver circa 1958. You can hear that by requesting the interview at Paul Oliver’s archives. It appears on a number of his albums afterwards. My favorite is magpie’s “These are what I like” LBM unissued recordings vol. 1
Tremblin' right along with the great sounds, keep the tradition alive & well, Ethan.Gets us through tough times.
I’ve listened to every rendition of “Tremblin’ Blues I can find and this is the best. Ethan has got it down.

When I was first learning blues and boogie piano, I needed that view of the fingers as well. Glad you're getting something out of it!

This is so awesome!
Thanks! Tremblin' blues is an all time favorite.
Nice !
Fantastic!
This is definitely one of my all time favorite tunes. I think the other video I have of it up on youtube is a stronger performance.
@@EthanLeinwand agree, this piano has much more tonal colour appropriate to the piece, Kristians transcripts are great replications too!
Amazing! Does anyone know when Little Brother Montgomery recorded this tune for the first time?

@@EthanLeinwand Great! Thank you so much!
Sounds like it couldve had the static
Wow how many years of training to reach that level ???
Alchimist and playing all these tunes with no music! I must have been born with some genes missing !
