Blues Guitarist and Singer, Francis Hillman "Scrapper" Blackwell (February 21, 1903 - October 7, 1962), who has a fascinating life story, probably did this tune the most justice, a classic blues song originally written (1923) by James "Jimmie" Cox (July 28, 1882 - March 3, 1925), over two decades before Eric Clapton was born! 🎸 🎹 - j q t - ua-cam.com/video/626pNZB8xXE/v-deo.html
Nice. Got better as it went. The start was a bit of a shred fest but it levelled out into some really cool piano blues. Vocals were good too. Of course you know of Oscar Peterson, Check him out for bluesy intros and rock on. Very cool, Bravo.. I play it on guitar, beautiful progression..
Thank you very much! I use only small cell phone mic - "Rode Videomic Me", it's the small black thing above my iPad. I use a long USB C cabel and it is connected to my Pixel 6 phone :)
Your playing is great! But do yourself a favor---forget Eric Clapton! Go listen to Bessie Smith. She brought that song to life for the first time, and 95 years later she's still it. The phrasing in her singing is what taught generations of singers.
@@jaycorwin1625 I know many versions...including Bessie's :) And you Are right, it's great :)I chose Clapton for the title because it's probably the most famous version and it can attract more viewers :)
@@ondrakrizmusic I can understand that. Most people who aren't as familiar with the old old old stuff would still know Eric Clapton. I sure enjoyed your playing though, and that's as someone who had a lot of training on the piano in classical music. If you're not performing regularly in bars and cabarets you ought to be because you've really got it.
@@ondrakrizmusic That's a beautiful country, and you're more than welcome. It's even nicer to hear that someone from that far away has such a great ear for very traditional American music.
one of the most beautiful musical compositions in history. And beautifully performed
Really nicely done 👍👍
Nice job man.
So good!!!!!!
Nice rendition, but I wish people would stop giving credit for the song to Clapton, was written and performed by Jimmy Cox in 1923.
And popularized by Bessie Smith.
This is so good!!! I have a feeling your channel will blow up at some point!
WOW!!!! You are so talented !!!!!!! Amazing piano technique… &Impressed by your singing too… wow just wow
Really great. Thank you very much for this beautiful interpretation.
Composed in 1923 by James Cox, recorded by Bessie Smith.

It´s not a Clapton Song!!
Clapton didn't write it but he did sing it
@@mrt4786 tons of people has covered this song. Me too. I don´t give credit to Clapton
