I always thought Guiding Light missed a great opportunity with Denice Pence. Yes, she was adorable as Katie, and her friendship with Hilary (Marsha Clark) was fabulous. But, my goodness, she was stunningly beautiful, and still is today. I thought she could have been a knockout leading lady, lots of guys falling at her feet. Any storyline that portrayed Katie as being chubby, or not desirable to men were ludicrous to me seeing how gorgeous she was. I have recently found some of the vintage clips and episodes from the 1980s here on UA-cam and I have been loving them. Thanks for doing this latest get together, and for all the fine work done by these beloved actors and actresses on Guiding Light, so lovely to see you all again. Stay safe and healthy!

Elvira, I'm sorry that you were unable to be a bigger part of this reunion. You were wonderful as Hope and were amazing opposite of Chris as Alan. I'm so thankful and happy that you were a part of this. You have brought back some wonderful memories from my childhood, and watching the show with m grandmother.
I grew up with guiding light. It was titled "Die Springfield Story" in Germany. In my view the period between 1979 and 1983 represented "the golden years". It is wonderful to see all these great actors again who brought so much happiness in so many lives all over the world. Thank you for that♡

Jane Elliott was brilliant as Carrie. I loved her and Jerry together. Ross was a great character and Jerry, you made so many people happy by playing him.
I just loved the multi personality Carrie as well. Unfortunately there isnt much video out there of this character available on UA-cam.
Whatever happened to Janet Grey, who played Eve and was involved in this storyline?
C J Good question. I know she got divorced from Ben McFarren. I liked Eves and Jackie Marler (Cindy Picket) interaction on GL.

Watched GL from 1976-2002. My favorite years where when these 4 actors where on GL. The late 70s early 80s where great. Thanks for coming on.
The Bauer BBQ was always great to watch. It was a time to see the characters relax and unwind.

I wish Elvera Roussel had been reunited with Alan Spaulding on The Island. It's so nice to see Jerry Ver Dorn. He's living proof that there is "Life After Soaps". In The UK alot of Actors/Actresses leave the Business and are just as happy. Sean Wilson who played Nurse Martin Platt on Coronation Street from 1985-2005 is now a Chef.

I began watching Guiding Light in 1978 and stayed with it till its end in 2009. I absolutely loved this soap and As The World Turns!! I would love them to get Sofia Landon and Janet Gray to appear on the Locher Room!

I loved these characters. Too sweet that someone came up to Elvera and told her that Alan Spaulding was cheating on her. Her response was very sweet to the fan.

Denise, you started on the show when I started watching with my grandmother and sister. My sister's name is Katie, and we talked very excitedly about this interview. We remember you fondly. Your character, also the character of Hillary and Floyd are some of our first favorites.

So good to see Hope and Katie on here!!!!! I was a kid at my babysitters and I was the only kid she would let watch the “stories” bc I knew more about what was going on than she did!!!!!! Hahahahaha... I’m serious true story.

She was a Cedars nurse, her brother was Floyd. Floyd has a child with Nola. Katie, her character was in many story lines.

@@stylinsue535 She was brought on in 1976/77 to replace Fran Myers (Peggy Thorpe) behind the nurses' station. She came in after Fran Myers (Peggy) and Lynne Adams (Leslie) had left the show. Lynn Deerfield was replaced by Maureen Garrett; and Lenore Kasdorf and Janey Grey were brought on as the Stapleton sisters (Sudie Bond played their mother). It was a total shift in leading ladies on the show at the time. Katie later became friends with Hillary Kincaid (Linda McCullough, Marsha Clark).

I loved Katie. I always wanted her to have more love interests. She should have been on longer.
Quint and Nola were 1 of my all time favorite couples on the show.
They should have brought Hope back along with Alan Michael .
I been watching alot of old clips on youtube I love Katie and her friendship with Hillary, I thought it would be cool if Jim Reardon and Katie got together and had a little girl named Hillary. I love Quint and nola together they were awesome together, Blake and Ross were awesome sad we didnt see them get interact their grown kids, I so wanted Hope to come back see her tangle with Alan again, and be there for alan michael and lucy

These are wonderful. So much of these shows remind me of my mom, and then of my daughter as she grew up watching with me until the end. The fact we get to really see it was as we imagined, that the cast was close and really friends is really nice.
So cool another good one, well EXCEPT for the AD's.....GL sort of lost me in the 90's with all of the re-casts, but loved the 80's GL..Thanks for the old timers!!

Cat Harbin Totally agree with these choices Cat. I don't know if you saw the reunion this afternoon, I think Alan said that he tried to get Lisa and Tom for this one but were unavailable if I heard him correctly. But yes, hopefully he can get them at a later date. Along with Denise, John, Marsha Clark., and Kristin. Maybe even Kevin Bacon. Love for all these people to talk about their time on the show and what was it like working together.
I'd love to see all these! Lenore just did an interview on spotify and they mentioned these GL reunions. Sounded like she'd be interested.

Alan, your in luck. The Cradle Will Fall is on UA-cam. Type in the title and it's the first thing that comes up. Even though I knew who the characters from GL were It was still strange seeing them this way. I remember watching this originally in August 1983. I thought it was very strange to say the least.

I'm hoping Alan starts to let the actors actually talk. I notice in this one he cut Denise Parker off a lot, which really got annoying after the fourth or fifth time. I'd rather hear her thoughts on watching Peter Simon replace Mart Hulswit than about Jerry's chemistry with someone on a different show.

One played Hope Bauer, who was Alan Michael Spauldings mom. She was partnered with Alan Spaulding. The other woman played Katie Parker, she was a nurse at Cedars. Her brother Floyd was the father of Nolas oldest child.
