Customer service is best I’ve dealt with. I accidentally washed my slim bolt action pen with my jeans and while cleaning it I lost a piece. I reached out to them and within 2-3 days I had the missing piece in the mail with another sticker. 10/10 experience with this company and will always recommend them to anyone in the market for their type of products
I want to point out that their customer service is really great, too! I had a solar driven field watch fail on me, BiD paid for the shipping and before even receiving my watch they sent out a brand new one. so happy bout that!
@@DavidHooverJr that's actually a bit worrying... great warranty service is good and all, I just hope there's no big issue with the field watch that has it breaking every few months
@@Kleiner_Lutz yeah, I thought the same thing when I saw your reply. I really love my watch and all the other stuff I have from BiD, so hopefully I get it back soon. As Taylor said in the video, they use RZE to build the watches and they are supposed to be a high end tough watch.

Not sure if it is a feature you overlooked, or a development in later models, but I have the slim click and you can adjust the length of the internals by turning the clicker. Super easy to adjust without a tool.
Love their design language. I picked up one of the dual side click pens about a year ago and I enjoy the feel. Unfortunately the side click release mechanism is far far far to sensitive and releases if the wind blows to hard. In retrospect I wish I would have gotten the Bolt Action.
One of my favorite pens of all time for edc is the Pen of Greatness from Modern Rogue, it'd be awesome for you to check it out. Its slim and has a ton of versatility!
Man I’m not into pens at all. Afraid I’m going to lose them, but I would love to try out one of big ideas stone washed bolt action. Just looks amazing. Love these videos!
Probably a month ago I spent over $600 on their website. I laughed to myself as I mumbled sarcastically "thanks Taylor Martin". Now I see a few things in this video I don't have, but unfortunately want. So I'll say it to you instead of to myself... thanks a lot Taylor Martin 😅
I am so happy BigIDesign now offered a flipper utility knife. I avoided thier TPT Slide, because I wanted to avoid the "out the front" action. I kind of wish more of the utility blade was encased, which is a problem with the TiRant, and the Arena - Flipout as well. At $175.00, the price is out of my income bracket, but seems reasonable when compared to the Zero Tolerance 450, or Quiet Carry iQ, but these have blades made out of higher end steels. It seems like BigIDesign added the cost of scales, to the cost of a TPT Slide. Which is why the price makes sense, but it is out of my income bracket. [I need to stick to Husky, and Milwaukie; for their utility knives, especially since I rarely use a knife in my day to day life. BigIDesign Utility very cool, but I can't justify it for my use case/ income bracket.
Hey Taylor! Not new to this page and have been a fan for a while, but this is my first comment, would you by chance know if they 3D print these titanium tools with binder jetting, or do they machine them? Which I know is very hard to do
I have the mini bolt action pen in stonewashed ti, the standard bolt action pen in copper, and the edc screwdriver in stonewashed ti. Great material, great build quality, but you will pay for it. 🤑
The clip on both pens I purchased from them became loose and started rattling which was annoying. I eventually figured out how to fix it, but I shouldn't have to fix a $100 dollar pen. My Tactile turn hasn't had any issues and the clip is way thicker.
@Taylor Martin if you have to push on the nib to get the ink to flow then the nib tines are probably too tight or a piece of paper fibre is in it. If you have a feeler gauge take the thinnest and try sliding it between the tines this will do two things, floss the nib removing debris and check the tinea adjustment. The feeler should just grab when removing it. If it feels super tight there are ways to adjust it. I would watch a nib adjustment video, plenty of YTers have done them. But a properly adjusted nib should rest on the paper and lay down a line. Then you will love writing with a fountain pen. Great video! Just a shame my wallet will be empty again soon. 😂
I meant that as a right-handed user, you pull when you write. Lefties are pushing (left to right) when they write. It’s just physics. I didn’t mean I had to bare down on it - just talking about the direction of the pen
@@BestDamnEDC ah, that makes more sense now. Being a lefty myself I write with the paper sideways and my writing goes down the page and from tight to left. Helps to not smear the ink too.

I have a question that I hope someone here could answer - why do almost all of those pocket tools companies do these tools in titanium only? I almost never see cheaper versions of these tools made out of steel. Is there a legitimate reason why these tools have to be titanium or is it just that when they are their profit margin can be higher? And yes, I do know that titanium is expensive and harder to work with, but more affordable options would be really welcome.
Because Ti is light weight. If you want any hope of actually carrying all these pocket toys around with you they need to be as light as possible. Most people end up just leaving this stuff on their dresser after a few days.
