Maxlvledc is a channel dedicated to exploring the tools we carry every day. Got a standard click for Christmas, a month ago click mechanism kept snagging, I emailed customer service and within a few weeks they mailed me a new mechanism, other than that I've tried at least 5 different refills and they all worked, their pens are truly next level in build quality, well worth the money
I love my BID pen. The sprung tip collet is an underrated feature. no discernible tip wiggle with most refills
I got myself the slim bolt action. It's still adjustable, but the only drawback is you need a specific tool to do so which they provide. Makes it a little less than ideal if you want to swap out multiple pen inserts often. That said I prefer the look of the slim a bit more. Plus I don't change my inserts unless they run out which isn't too often, so as long as I'm not switching brands then I don't have to worry about readjusting the pen. Big Idea is definitely one of my favorite EDC pen makers.

I've been dying to get my hands on one of those pens the price is just too steep!
I prefer the fisher space pen refills in my bigidesign pens, but the standard bullet pen refill is too short too. There's one version of it that comes with some kind adapter to it, not sure what it's called, and with that it works just fine
The Pilot is basically as good already
Solution for pen wiggle: If your pen wiggles at the rubber rings, and the beginning of the tip ( this could be because you are using a longer refil, at least I do) I suggest you putting some basic cello tape around the rubber rings. Nothing fancy, just some tape. This fixes the pen wiggle, and it's a much more substainable solution than shoving the extra rubber rings you get down the tip...trust me. Also, it doesn't make any crinkling sound, like I though it would. Remember, the wiggle migth be the ink cartridge inside.
TO SUM UP: Pen wiggles, put cello tape around the end of the barrel, migth take two layers. It's going to be difficult to screw in, but that's good. I hope I helped.

The Ti Clicky and the Ti Arto are great pens. I use a gel ink called Schneider Gelion 39.
Got the zirconium with Damascus clip I love it! Dual side click that is.

Does the DLC coating scratch ? i have the Ti Arto Machined Raw .. and that one i would not recommend it scratches like crazy just looking at it haha.. still it looks ok bought it in 2016 joined the Kickstart.. I'm a lefty, so smudge resistance is important. Parker Gel in a Right Choice Painting Co clicky pen is my desk pen, it's awesome. EDC is a G2 mini (in a Techliner super shorty).
My hesitation with the BID pens is the diameter. Love the concept, but don't like fatter pens. 3/8" (9.5mm) is perfect for me.
I have the original bolt action and I agree it is thick. I joined their kickstarter for their Slim Bold Action in raw Ti. The Kickstarter is closed but you much check out this model
You gotta imagine that the short inserts would work with an extension rod of correct diameter.

So just a little cylinder to put behind the short refills to hit the click mechanism and push the refill forward would allow those short cartridges to work right?

Can the dual side pen fit D1 refills? I'm aware that the mini dual side does but I was wondering if the normal dual side pen can fit.

Some of the refills can be cut down to size if needed like your third refill package. I have had to do this wiith uni-ball 207 gel refills to get them fitting in the slim bolt action version.
