This change to in-game purchases doesn't stop the mass buying / selling of items when there's a sale (just delays the items bought on sale to be thrown on the market for a week) so I think it was not valve's intention to stabilize prices or reduce the server load but instead to stop people from abusing currency differences by mass-buying capsules in-game with a weaker currency and instantly selling them on the market for a small profit. Valve is not interested in price fluctuations on the community market but they sure are in people abusing their system on a large scale. It's okay that you don't mention it in the video since you don't want to be part of the speculation on valve's reasoning, but I think a lot of people are missing this simple explanation for the update.

Another great video! Regarding the ending, VAC bans disappear from your profile after 7 years, the effects are still in place but at least nobody can see it anymore.

actually, if you check an account through steamrep or any similar site it would still display. in any other means you are correct

should have mentioned the 2 year old password exploit that valve ignored
supposedly it was finally fixed in the most recent patch by changing the string the invite links use through steam; but for some reason they didn't mention it at all? one would think you'd want to talk about fixing one of the biggest bugs that was ever on the entire platform 🤔
@puppylover but if its gone its only good news for them to say it, right? they most did definitely try to keep it quiet just like with every other major exploit in the past, but they've always said *something* after it was fixed

A few years ago you uploaded the video with the vmf files for all the maps. i, as a starter, just want to do a nuke hide and seek but when i open the nuke file i only see a bit of the map the rest are errors or other weird stuff that i dont understand. can you show me and explain slowly how i can get to the point where i can edit the map and not in 2 seconds like in the video cause i really need a slow explenation cause im not good in english. thank you already

Why when you can use a free account or buy an old account
I still have a VAC ban from waaay back when I was like 13 or something in gold source games. To this day, I have no idea how I got it, although I figure it has something to do with me installing a bunch of mods while not knowing which of them would get me banned. For these situations, I think it's fair to expire VAC bans after more than a decade of having that stamp on my account. But it's also a great way to tilt players in CSGO matches that are certain I'm hacking, because this mark on my profile sends them into a self righteous fit of rage. Even if I have more than 1000 hours in CSGO.
I find it odd that the VAC-mark is public on your profile, because it doesn't really tell you anything useful about whether a person is cheating or not, only that they have, at one point in their life, been VAC banned. People tend to have this essentialist view of cheaters. Like they can't grow past it.
I wonder if I will ever be able to get rid of my Modern Warfare 2 VAC from over 3000 days ago

i have a friend with an account that got a vac ban like 5500 days ago and the vac no longer shows on his account. you have to check it with ban checker for steam extension

I regret none of my tattoos as much as I regret that day of spinbotting with silent aimhacks and bhop scripts on css de_dust 2 40 player servers. They dont show on your profile after 6 years

Vac bans should become more fluid as time goes on. In my opinion, the 5 year mark in addition to continued usage of the account (aka showing that the user cares about the account,) should be enough to start removing the restrictions on said accounts. The plethora of accounts whose sole purpose was cheating don't deserve any portion of the ban to be lifted.

There were issues with matchmaking and inventory servers for the past week or so.
I do wish that they would help to people like me who got their accounts stolen, my alt account got stolen and had the same phone for prime which got my main account banned like 2 years ago. I understand the no compromise policy but with this they have proven that they are willing to loosen things and I would appreciate at least a revist or a case by case basis investigation, while I don't play csgo on my main anymore I would love to be able to do it again.
Why would they do that when they can force you to buy everything all over again. Volvo is above criticism obviously by the cult of gaben.

VAC bans disappear from your profile after 7 years, you still have it, but if you haven't gotten another VAC ban, I believe that it is essentially privated.
Csgos inventory and market has been crashing and not showing up. Opening cases or capsules wouldn’t work for me. I lost like 2 stickers (it’s 25c so meh? Could’ve been a gold for all I know tho)

I remember my og steam account from 2002 got vac banned in 2006 when valve checked for models CRC I had red blue player models at the time and got vaced. cs 1.6 they then stopped banning for custom models not long after,. sucks

The game is free, and will run on almost anything, just don't expect to go pro on a 10 year old office PC but you can still have a bit of fun.

I hope steam takes a softer approach to vac banns, making accounts playable after a set period of time. This will also loosen up items on those accounts which could then be traded again etc.
Volvo cares more about cheaters making new accounts and buying everything again than they do getting genuine players repentant and caring about their original account.

I got a vac ban on cs when i was 13, now as an adult the vac ban is gonna dissappear soon, from the public atleast but this new development from valve allowing pros to play again is interesting and gives my main account a glimmer of hope
Cheaters are killing the hell out of this game. I get very few chances to play and Everytime I do damn cheaters everywhere.

I were waiting an update on adittional anti-cheat measures and such.. I have faced a lot of cheaters recently and i just wanted to depart from the game with that reason... And then they just gave cheaters a second chance... Cs:Go is slowly dying in front of my eyes...
My thoughts exactly. They should focus on making a working anti-cheat instead of sotftening the consequences of the existing one...
