    it would be nice to understand the why not just throw numbers letters and symbols I don't want someone to tell me it's because its on the test I want someone to tell me you can mix this element and this element to make this compound or this reaction or this solution I want someone to explain to me the why.

    thank you so much for this video! I'm doing my preliminary high school chem here in Aus, and this video has been so helpful to not only revise electron configuration (which took me a while to get my head around before), but also because I struggled understanding the links between each of the parts of an element 'square'. I was never right top of my science classes, but this vid was the first of yours I've seen- and safe to say ill likely be back! Thank you for helping so many people understand this concept

    So! The atomic mass is composed of (protons+neutrons)? The atomic # is (protons or electrons)? Can the atomic mass be composed of electrons+neutrons?

    • @BrainSTEM
      @BrainSTEM  6 років тому +1

      no, the electrons are so small that they are not considered to have any mass (the flow of electrons is electricity and we don't really think of electricity as having mass)

    Why is it that in your second example, on the second orbital you put 10 electrons instead of 8? You said the second orbital could only hold 8 and when you add up all the elctrons it sums up to 19 not 17. 17 being the number of electrons. Am i dumb?
