  • Oregon is an ideal place for backpacking adventures and in this video Andréa and Silas are joined with two friends to spend three days and two nights hiking a loop trail in the Jefferson Wilderness Area of Oregon's Central Cascades. Not everything goes as planned as the group hits a snow pack on day two that causes them to go astray.

Beautiful trip report! I have found apps withdownloaded topo maps with GPS location to be useful for those times when the trail eludes me. How were the bugs? And do you use a Ridgerest under an inflated pad?

@@42wolves Thanks for taking the time to watch our video. We literally missed our fork by about thirty feet. We usually always have a paper topo map on hand but we forgot it at the car 🤦. The bugs were surprisingly minimal. A small camp fire in the evening and morning time was enough to keep them away. I always bring two sleeping pads. I use an inflatable Nemo tensor on top of my foam pad.

    Looks beautiful!
That has happened to me as well...Loosing the trail in the snow and then returning right where I started in the morning!
