That’s amazing. It’s such a lovely little place and I didn’t even know it was there. I love exploring the Cotswolds. You never know quite what you’ll find.
Hi Steve picked up my 50 to 230 today and as usual just when I was due to go out it started to rain as it always does in Wales. I’m loving my XS10 so far first real tryout was at Cenarth Falls nr Carmarthen on Sunday and the colours looked great in jpeg only Hope you’re keeping well love the videos. Off to a local nature reserve in Cardiff tomorrow so will be able to give a better test as there are kingfishers herons foxes so will be interesting to see how the lens copes
I’m thrilled your lens has arrived and that you’re enjoying it. I have to say, mine goes everywhere with me (and will until I get the 70-300). Do look out for tonight’s video, it’s all about a secret that people don’t talk about in photography much but every film student learns about. I think you might find it useful :)
@@SteveMellorPhotography Thanks Steve first trip with the new lens today and got some nice shots of a kingfisher at Forest Farm nature reserve in Cardiff lens went well just me getting used to using it with the XS10.
There is, it’s whether that difference is acceptable. The 55-200 is a much sharper lens but the 50-230 really holds its own, considering it’s much cheaper. If you’re starting out, it works and it works well and it won’t break the bank.
My Grandfather lived in Willersey, my Father and his family grew up there and I spent many hours there as a young boy. Amazing.

Good Monday Morning from New Zealand, Great Wildlife Photography Video, have a great week
Thank you ever so much 😁 I hope you have a great week!
Good review...always like a practical approach without a lot of pixel peeping. Nice location, too.
Thanks! 👍 Look out for a new one where I'll compare the 3 main zoom lenses in this range. I'm working on that now.

Nice camera and lens combo, Keith...you should have a great time with them!
I change the mode to sport finder when lens isn’t long enough. Having started with a x-trans 1 camera 16.3 mega pixels is fine.
It’s a good thought, actually. Am I right in thinking it’s a 1.24 crop, so you’d end up with a 20mp image on the X-T3/4?
@@SteveMellorPhotography When I change to sport it’s raw changes to M. So it’s a 4492x3328 image being recorded.
Ah, I see: well, that can still expand to a 50mp image using Photoshop’s new enhance. I’ll have to try this myself. Thanks for the tip :)
The duck looks like it’s smiling 🙂
All ducks smile in the Cotswolds 😊
Hi! Do you think the AF id good in good day light?
Yes. Actually, whilst it’s a bit slower than some, it’s still very good
Nice Video
Good reviews…good duration..
Im glad you liked it. Thank you ever so much.
Привет. Смотрю тебя из России. Заказал этот объектив на замену Tamron 70-300, жду когда придет.
Nice video, Like 4 and Bye from Italy :)
Hello there! Really glad you liked it :) thanks for the comment, it’s much appreciated 😁
Hi Steve, so is there not appreciable difference in IQ between 50230 and 55200?
