★ 🇨🇭 Sissach - Läufelfingen - Olten: Cab ride on the original line between Basel & Olten

- Опубліковано 10 вер 2019
- Today we're travelling with a special passenger train used for training train personell.
For this purpose we're taking the old route between Basel and olten, which in my opinion is much more attractive than the tunnel between Tecknau & Olten. This route is still used by a regional train, even though only 20% of the operating costs are covered by ticket sales.
The change over to a bus service has been in consideration for more than 30 years, however a recent vote fell in favour of the train.
The line is also used during maintenance works in the base tunnel.
The line was originally double tracked as can be seen in tunnels and on bridges. The Hauenstein Scheiteltunnel was the first tunnel through a mountain in Switzerland.
Hope you enjoy!

Another great cab ride! I hope they don't ever replace the train service with a bus!

Thanks for showing the train we're riding on.
This is a Swiss train ride I've never made, many thanks for taking us with you.
It's really good to see the less familiar routes. Thanks for this excellent video.
My pleasure
Herzlichen Dank für diese wunderbare Mitfahrt auf einer alten Strecke! Auch der Zug, mit dem wir mitgefahren sind, wurde

Lovely route through the mountains.
Beautiful country , was 1 week in hotel Grischuna Filisur Graubunden for traveling with the RhB .
Schön, schön. Vielen dank.
An observation - Your train arrived in Olten yard 1 minute before it passed through Trimbach. Check the station clocks! You ought have shown the train you were waiting for at Läufelfingen coming out of the tunnel, then cut to your departure. Ah woe, another missed opportunity (lol).
Schöne Mitfahrt durch die Schweiz! Weiter so!!!!
schöne Fahrt, danke
Petite ligne que je connais bien, puisque pas loin de l’Alsace.
Point de départ de nombreuses randonnées.
Merci pour ces belles vidéo.
Congratulations!

Ja Super!
Thank You for these wonderful scenic travel views You are uploading (because some of us may never see those countries). Just asking a question. Is it possible for You to keep/fix a camera behind the train so that we can have a different perception (especially uphill journey)? Maybe when You are moving with the engine alone. Thanks.
We were at 450 m altitude at 10:50, and 559 m at 18:23. Climbed 100 m in eight minutes.
its get job at Station i am ready very new my one of favorite mountain in Switzerland either smallest farm have valleys on train passing on looking my eyes be front of super views to feeling very be happy back next Winter season .Thank you bye see your Switzerland .
New beautiful and interesting video from lorirocks777. Hurrah. Meow.
Ah yes, we usually turn off left at Sissach don't we, by that shed where they keep the old rolling stock.
These lines are so much nicer than the modern mania for high speed lines that dive off into tunnels at every opportunity!
Totally agree. I'm glad they still exist. Another example is Mellingen - Baden Oberstadt - Wettingen.
Not one Trash nothing. No wrapper nothing. Total clean floor and ground.
Nice scenic Branch Line. Nice Country Side
Adorei !!
The perfect way to travel through such a beautiful countryside amd that too by train. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the train for a second or two. Funny that the train seemed to have terminated in the freight yard instead of the Olten station towards the end. It seems to me that the train ran empty throughout the entire journey.
Yes, it did. It was just for training purposes. Thanks!

Parking space on right with no barrier/edging to stop a car from accidentally going over the edge.
Select a forward gear instead of reverse and ouch.
美しい!(beautiful!)
Thanks :-)
la linea di dove so nato...........
quanti ricordi
Ist diese Aufnahme anlässlich einer Zugpersonalprüfung entstanden?
Nice to see the greens and flowering trees of late spring. Have seen this route used as a bye-pass when Tecknau/Olten tunnel being maintained. Can I assume only passenger trains would be sent over this route and freights would be sent round by Brugg.
Most freights are sent via Brugg anyway as this is the main national route for freigts. And in case the Hauenstein base tunnel is closed, the old track is used for passenger trains first and foremost as it's capacity is rather limited (single track with only one possible crossing spot in Läufelfingen) and the ramps rather steep. That being said, it's not entirely impossible for freights to be send over the old Hauenstein track, it happens ocasionally.
11:46 I was just wondering if the train fit the platform
Gibt es Passagiere in wie Suberau klein Station.
Assistir Iorirocks777 em: 14/04/2022, ás 19:20 minutos, quarta-Feira, estado de Pernambuco- Brasil.
Was the train headed for a masquerade? I could see the reflection of the red mask in the right hand corner.
Did you change cameras? I've been having clarity issues when the train in motion. It looks like an old video game with a slower loading speed. I Just wanted to know, otherwise I still like your videos keep up the good work
At 1080p? I haven't changed cameras.
Sorry I'm not sure of the resolution I'm watching in. I guess it's just sluggish on my end thanks
Awesome , you obviously get an alarm when you pass each signal , I assume you then acknowledge that by pressing a corresponding button ? Does the train come to a stop if you don't ? Thanks, Richard.
Everything correct. The alarm indicates a restriction.
@@lorirocks777 Thanks ! Keep up the good work :-)
27:36 😱 EW1
10:55 There was a second track on the left, wasn't there?
18:28 And second track on the right.
Yes
@@lorirocks777 Why it was removed?
@@Terepin64 After the construction of the base tunnel, the old Hauenstein track lost more and more importance and was built back in 1938 from double track to single track. Only in Läufelfingen is still a passing place (Wikipedia )
To save maintenance costs
I have only one thing to say hehe
Deutschland uber alles lol
