I mispoke in the video . This is not a sealed transmission. Had my facts mixed up its the filter that is not serviceable but the fluid can be drained and refilled .
Thank you so much for this excellent detailed presentation in a way that was easy to understand. It's like I was right there with you looking over your shoulder. It made my task of replacing the axle assembly on my 2004 Quest so much easier because it literally took the mystery and the potential pitfalls I'd run into out of the job, sort'a along the line of reasoning that to be forewarned is to forearmed. Thanks again, and congrats for creating this oh so helpful guide of yours.
I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment , thank you very much.
Best video explanation ever. I knew absolutely nothing to start. And this video is so detailed but not aggravating step by step. Great job thank you
You're very welcome!
Thank you for showing where you place the jack and supports. First video I've seen that shows that.
Thank you for the great feedback and thanks for watching.
Great video. Thank you for showing everything step-by-step. Great job.
Thank you for the excellent feedback, much appreciated.
thank you sir! you helped immensely with my stuck cv!.
14:34 to 17:00ish removing the bracket itself was key.
then pb blaster and a mallet and stone chisel to separate the bracket and the old axle.
not a fun job on a car in salty snowy east coast state.
Thank you for the great feedback and thanks for watching
This is the best video of mechanic work and explanation
Thank you so very much.
Very very great vid. Straight to point and detailed what to expect in real time.
Thank you very much.
Used your video to replace my gf's Quest passenger cv axle (torn boot). Great video and step by step instruction. Living in CA I was able to remove the CV axle without removing the bracket. Nevertheless, and great how to. 3 hr job for me as I move pretty slow and deliberate with new projects. Thanks!!!! Also had to use a piece of pipe with the breaker bar to break the axle nut loose. Correctly torqued it upon reassemble.
Thank you for the feedback , much appreciated.
Where do you live in CA, I have same problem with my 2007 quest. Need to change the passenger side CV axle
Honest n good teaching video. Thank u sir.
Much appreciated . Thank you for watching.
Nice work. Compared to many other gearhead videos yours is high quality. Camera work showing bolts was impressive. If you can, try editing software that will allow you to draw in arrows to "point" at what you are talking about. Very good job with your video Sir, thank you.
Thank you for the great feedback and the helpful information I appreciate it. Thanks for watching
@@s33therfan No problem. I had do this repair and your video was a huge help on my '06. Been turning wrenches since '99. Havent paid a shop for a thing since then. Guys like us manning up, thats what it's all about.
Thank you very much, the most helpful tip for me was how to know if the trans is a 4 or 5 speed, again thanks very good video.
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching
NIcely done sir! I can't believe that you got it out by just banging on that flange. haha Nice break for you. Thanks!
Yes , I was pretty proud of myself . Everything seemed to work out smoothly and I managed to keep from breaking anything ha . Thanks again
Great video. I appreciate the detail and step by step instruction. Now how much would you charge to change mine? :)
thanks dude for a very detailed message
Thanks for watching
I don't think that missing bolt backed off...probably being harder to get to last teck that worked on it just left it out.
Great job on the video.
Sounds about right , Thank you for the great feedback and thanks for watching.
Great video. You showed great temperament in not get frustrated when it didn't come out. I'm having the same issue with my 2010 Nissan Maxima but I've only located 2 of the bracket bolts that's mounted to the engine. Plus it's very cold now so working outside is very hard. Where online can I find a 3 feet extension and your swivel head? By any chance, do you know how many bolts hold that cv axle bracket that's mounted on my 2010 Nissan Maxima? I think with patience I can find it. Watching your video has given me the confidence that I can complete my car project this week. Thank you.
It looks like there are atleast 5 bolts going through yours and possibly an altetnator or pwr steering pump sitting on it. Here is a link below so you can get a better image of the bracket , and a link for the extenison. Thank you for the feedback.

@@s33therfan Thanks but there's no way I'm going to take that bracket out when you said another part sits on it. I might have to heat up the bracket to separate the cv axle from it or take it to a repair shop. If you have any suggestions to separate without removing please let me know, thanks.
I would recommend one of these tools , but other than spray lubricant and trying to hammer it out , I can't think of another method. This slide tool gives a lot of force with the hammer action.

Make more videos you are good at showing everything
Thank you very much for the kind words and thanks for watching.
Thank you, very helpful
Thank you for the feedback and thanks for watching
This was very helpful, thank you so much, just need the name of the sensor you broke as I broke it as well 🥶
Hello, I also broken it, do you not de name of the sensor ?
It looks like the knock sensor
Google it for our specific vehicle and it should look very similar imma say it is the knock sensor because of the 1 prong plug
Excellent video
Well detailed instructions
Thanks friend
🙂👍🍻🍻🍻
Thank you very much for the great feedback and thanks for watching
Thanks for the Video. I will be doing this project soon on my 2008 Nissan Quest same passenger side. I see that you did not remove the tie rod end and underarm control ball from steering knuckle. I see some of the videos removing them, I am not worried about underarm but wondering on tie rod as the steering knuckle with bearing hug may put some weight on & may cause any damage to it. Appreciate it!
This is how I always remove mine . Thanks for watching.
s33therfan Ok. How is it holding up far? Any issues with the broken sensor? Thanks again for the video. It helps a lot for DIY starters like me.
The sensor was actually fine , it only bent the plugs over slightly and they straightened back out no problem. Thanks again.
Nice video, thanks for sharing. Would 04 Quest driver's side similar and do I need to remove the ball joint?
Yes , it will be the same procedure except you will have to pop the cv out with a crow bar/pry bar , because it is held by a clip . Thanks for the question.
@@s33therfan much appreciated, thanks a million.
Thanks for the tips .
Thank you very much for watching.
Looks easy enough. I just need a few more tools I guess.
Great job, thanks.
Thank you for the great feedback, it is much appreciated.
Do you have a video on doing the driver side of a Nissan quest
I must not be reading the manual correctly.
2006 Service Manual - FAX (front axle) have 125 ft-lb of torque on 32mm Axle nut.
Its Newton-meter. N-m(kg-m, ft-lb) = 125(13,, 92). 92 ft-lb is correct.
Awesome thanks a lot bud.
Thank you very much for the great feedback , it is much appreciated.
Did you lose transmission fluid ??
Can u just replace the boot w/o replacing the entire axle?
You can just replace the boots. When I have priced the boots they usually were not a lot cheaper than the entire cv axle , that is one of the draw backs. The other in this case was the cv axle itself was in bad condition . Bad to the point of causing vibrations. So in summary if its just cracked and the cv axle is fine then replacing the boot may be a good option. Usually they come with new axle grease etc. Great question and thank you for watching
Did you have to get the front end aligned afterwards
I did not. Having an alignment is always best after working on or replacing front end parts. There was no uneven tire wear or issues in my case .
hi! Great video! Can I buy cv axle in Amazon?

Thank you very much for watching.
thanks Bro!!!!
Would this cause the van to not drive forward or reverse when put in gear if the part is broken?
If its separated or severed it could. You could observe this by looking safely on either the passenger or drivers to see if its spinning freely . This applys all the output to the broken axle . It could also be an issue with the transmission as well . If the axles are fine I would start by checking the level of trans fluid . Hope this helps out and thank you for watching.
I need help what’s the name of the sensor? I also I broken it I need to replace
I think that is the knock sensor
But that axle is not tripod
how to know if it is a 4 or 5 speed
I know I had the same question and I believe I found the number stamped on the transmission . There may be an easier way and someone else can chime in . Thanks for watching.

Impossible for 7th gen Maxima. I have a 14' Maxima. I've lossen all the bolts (4 total) holding the housing and it can not be remove because of the tight spacing. The only thing left to try is a slide hammer.
