I've the coast g20 for years. I got it when I was working at a Valvoline changing oil and loved that it fit in my shirt pocket. Now I work in a psych hospital and use it for room checks for contraband and also to see if people are actually asleep. In pitch Black it's bright enough to where if I shine it on the ceiling if someone is awake they're going to look even if they don't want to but if they're asleep it won't wake them up. Love it. I'll have to check out the g23. My first one finally died after about 5 years of daily use and keeping it in my car the whole time.

I carry an olight S1 or S2 baton. They kept me safe doing security in HOAs with a highly agressive homeless issue. More fights were prevented with a high power strob directed to the face then any threat of my OC spray or asp baton.

I see you like Coast... the Coast HP10R has the largest battery that they make as far as single battery banks go. 4500 mAh zx950 batt. Consider as a flashlight/batt bank combo. Lifetime warranty is great on those lights

For me, one of the most important features I look for in an EDC light is the moonlight function.

One I think you'd like for EDC on a keychain or whatever is the True Utility FireLite. Combines a flashlight and peanut style lighter into one package. Extremely useful and handy for EDC or survival needs. While not extremely bright it's enough for day to day use

I haven't even watched the video yet, just starting, but i saw Coast in thumbnail (folks are sleeping on Coast)...im a Coast fan for sure, i have 4 Coast products and currently saving for solid headlamp and new flashlight. XPH32R(i think) or TPH25R...and PX15R. (I think)...thats the direction im heading

I guess I’m not geared towards survival as much as I am edc. I appreciate AA and AAA batteries being so practical in emergencies but for daily use rechargeable is just so much more cost effective and convenient. Especially with the magnetic charging Olight uses.

I carry a Cree torch and a true utility firelight on my person. My workbag has a headlamp and my backpack has both an omnidirectional light and a Cree. My home has several lights in every room due to our village being without power twice a year. I never carry high end torches i usually have several surplus army lights and a couple of cheap ones. I don't know if you used them but we used a torch with a bend at the top a lot in the Dutch army. We have two at home, one in the bedroom and one in the private vehicle.

I carry a Future Boss 35 by Oveready. The machining is impeccable and programming your light with your phone is pretty damn cool. Sometimes i swap it out for my Mechforce Mectorch gen.2

A phone is for calling people, a flashlight is for illumination. A light on a phone is a nice bonus but not a primary light.

Two things i can never have enough of are sharp objects and lights, i have a light on each of my firearms, i have one on my combat helmet, a couple head lamps and one of my favorites is my surefire wrist light but it was expensive then i have a danforce g1 which is probably the best light i own, you should check it out

Now as edc I have Fenix rc11, but I am looking for a flashlight to mount on my AR platform, but also to carry it around. So something easely removeable from rail with remote switch and 18650 battery. :D olight looks like potentional option. So I will see.

The Olight warrior minis would fit the bill. I carry one every day as a tactical light and as a mini spotlight along with a i3t for general use.

Nice video! I''ve started to get more AA and AAA flashlights these days because of your approach. I do love my rechargeable lights though...I have way too many Olights lol. I agree that Coast is great for their durability and AA battery options. A "duel fuel" option I just bought is the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA LED Flashlight in this coyote tan color. It's pretty nice and compact so maybe check it out sometime. I'm also looking into the Coast - 30326 XP11R 2100 Lumen Flashlight as my next "duel fuel" flashlight - basically the little brother of the main one in your truck. May just end up getting the bigger one that you have though

@@MarineX I carry a Rofis R2 on my belt, it came with a 14500 battery which means that the light can put out 700 lumens which is pretty good, if that battery does die when I'm away from home I can just drop in an AA battery which will provide some light. Any light that takes these two power cells is great in my opinion.

Proprietary batteries and cables for me are a no no, will keep looking....what's the point of a type C cable when you need to use the one supplied and not the one you use for your phone ? Makes no sense at all....come on Coast....make it work with any type C.....and a sled capable of using either 18650 or 14500.....not proprietary batteries that will not be available in a few years.
