The Thrunite V4 half lumen mode is something most other lights need to look into. Don't get me wrong, brighter is better. But having the longest run time for weeks on end, night time reading in a grid down situation by yourself is a real sanity saver. Even having that kind of longevity for weeks on end, having even minimal visibility, say, in the middle of the ocean at night with no starlight or being lost in a cave is one of the best mental assurances anyone can have. If you can't even see your own hand two feet away, it's a scary thing.
Agreed! Ultralow moonlight modes are definitely a strong point of consideration for most of the lights I buy. A few other brands like ArmyTek, zebralight and even Olight is better than most. The new wizard c2 pro from armytek has 6 months of runtime on its lowest output!
I agree. I could live without a moonlight mode on a duty light, but my general purpose/emergency light has to have a 1 or .5 lumen mode and must tailstand.

Wurkkos FC12 is probably has the best price to performance ratio of all the flashlights in this video because based on the test results of various reviewers Wurkkos FC12 is able to produce more than 30 thousand candelas with the included battery and it also has a moon mode which only emits 0.2 lumens of light.
Hey , you seem to really your flashlights. I'm looking for the most powerful EDC flashlight under ~$50, is the FC12 the one you would recommend? I just can't find a definitive answer

Klarus E2 gets the nod from me. I actually prefer bezel-up carry. Something that is becoming scarce these days. 1600 lumens. But good luck finding a spare proprietary battery if you want one.
Great video! I notice a lot of people hold a light up by their head or chest when doing a "walk on a trail" / outside testing. Personally I hold the light low so even a tight bean can spread across the ground in front of me vertically instead of horizontally. Just an observation/ thought for reviews of tighter beams outside. I love your reviews!
Glad you enjoyed it Brian! I will try experimenting with some lower light holding positions in my future videos! The thought hadn't crossed my mind but it makes a lot of sense.
Good point Brian. When I hold mine high by head it's when I'm searching for a misplaced something, and aiming near straight down. Narrowing my view I feel I like less of chance to pass over what looking for.
Hello, I have a question. I'm now getting to know all the different flashlight options, I didn't imagine there were so many brands, I preferred to buy a North American brand, but when I saw that both Streamlight and Surefire make flashlights that don't seem to innovate as much and aren't extremely modest in terms of lumens and candelas I'm interested in Chinese brands. Like everyone else, I like to buy products that last a long time, in your experience which brands last the longest without showing defects? Which flashlights from which brands have you used for years and have not failed.
Great video as usual... I have a few of these lights you compared... I’m a fan of the Fenix... it’s just a good combination of throw and flood... keep up the great work 👍
Please recommend. I don't like the one-button, many-modes interface. I don't want to click to turn on, click again and again and again for brighter, then off. I want a slider and possibly also an on/off button.
Have you tried pressing (press and hold) the side switch before turning on power button on the fc12? What I've read is that it's lower than a lumen but i just don't have the equipment to test it. It is a bit dimmer than the lowest when ramping normally. I have one btw.. great comparison
Nice review. For me nitecore mh11 is an old model and the spec is lower than other brand. Nitecore new model all using 21700 battery. Their p18 is using 18650 with 1800 lumen and the feature is great. Very good tactical flashlight from nitecore.
Good info. Loved the overview. IMO, on the "Moon" mode, if the output isn't at least 4 lumen, it isn't very useful for much more than reading a comic book under the blanket after mom has told you it's time to go to sleep. 7-10 is probably best for a camp flashlight sort of usage. For me, I would lean towards the Klarus for overall use and maybe the Acebeam as a better area light.
Nice comparison. I like your talk and details on the beam profile with medium modes. I pretty rarely use turbo and high, they both step down in most lights anyway. I don't need it that bright for walking or common tasks so I tend to use anything between 1-200 lumen for most things I do. One thing to note with the Olight metal magnetic switch is if you are in a garage or shop working on anything metal it can get filings and dirt in the switch which is not great. I like any of the rubber switch options. Lots of great flashlights there I can't really choose a winner!
Yikes! Thanks for the heads up on the Olight tail switch, that it disappointing! I guess that's the only way their magnetic charging setup would work. Acebeams metal tail switch seems like it would be more resistant to dirt/dust ect...
Olight is terrible. The charging cable are rubbish, you never know if its fully charged, major issues with magnetic charging ! I own 8 of their lights & i just bought my 1st fenix light for camping (headlight) . Long story short i posted ever olight i own on offer up ! Moving to FENIX
Wow, so many great choices! I was just looking for 5 or 6 of the same flashlights for looking out our home's windows at night and to 100 feet. Let me know if you can suggest any of those in particular
Yeah I would definitely say so! I own about 10 sofirn lights and 4 wurrkos lights and they are some of my most used lights and also the most affordable!
Thank you! Overall ACEBEAM seems to have the best build quality in my opinion. I also own the E70 which is a 21700 light and its great. Klarus and Fenix are close behind.
1st praise - good review, however I dont understand why everyone is bringing out torches with more than 3 modes. Just way too many. Also whats with all the different brightness modes when we can have a stepless dimmer?
Save time/money....buy the BSS V4 and toss the silly strike ring. It blocks a huge amt of spill light and it has a moon light mode which is nice for camping/off grid/reading...
No Stream Lights? 18650 or 2 CR123a's. Stream Light's Pro tac 2L-X is my Fave edc (500 lumens). Ive read a lot about Olight being over advertised and true quality isnt all there. But havnt tested yet. At one point. I jumped ship from Stream Light to Nitecore. Shortly later. Got rid of 90% of my Nitecore's and jumped heavily back into Stream light starting with 2 Protac 5L-X (3,500 lumens). Fantastic for a Security Guard on Night Duty.
i own most of the lights tested here..but my personal fav is the x11gt pro v2....especially when it comes to tactical, robustness and the performance it produces.
If I’m carrying a self defense/tactical flashlight it’s gotta have a switch on top not side switch. Right now I edc a wuben L50 my only knock on it is the bulkiness.
EDC & Emergency prep the SOFIRN SP31 with a recharge 18650 for EDC & cr123a for cold & backup battery . The mode spacing is great and the price is right . GHB , BOB , Just in Case Bag , Junk Drawer , with the cr123a batteries.
Yeah I think its a great GHB / BOB option! Affordable and high performing! Would be great to see the moonlight mode improved to run a bit longer if you need to rely on it indefinitely, but otherwise its does the job!
I tried to buy the Thrunite using your Amazon link but it was broken. I already have several Thrunite flashlights and wanted the BSS V4 for the red filter. I'll keep it in my "weekend" vehicle so it's always handy. Thanks for the comparisons!
Thanks US! I have several lights, but you have helped me think if I was to get another, which one? Probably the best light for my SBR which might be the Olight. Thanks again!
If you have other Olights, then yeah I think it would be a good direction to go for an SBR! My main issue with Olight is the custom battery type and their weird charging setup but if you have other batteries and chargers its fine. Im running a Baldr Pro R (light with green laser) on my Glock 17 and am still undecided between the Acebeam and klarus to be mounted on my rifle lol
How is it that a Nitecore light is not included? Really appreciate you providing chapters! Also, it is great that the translate feature is present in the comments section. Is that something that you as the content provider have to pay for? Not all videos have that and I appreciate the ability to read all the comments for insights from around the world. Subscribed! There is the Nitecore Mh11! Most of the time i do include a nitecore light in my comparisons. You cant leave them out! I believe that the translator is standard... not something creators have to opt in for. Thank you for watching! Let me know if you have any other ideas for comparisons!
I was going to add a supplementary chart, but I'll just add the following: ACEBEAM 1700 LUMENS, $103.00, OLIGHT 1750 Lumens $89.00, FENIX 1700 lumens $80.00, THRUNITE 2523 Lumens $59.00, Wurkkos 2000 lumens $35.00, Sofirn 2000 lumens $35.00, Klarus 3,300 lumens $$89.00, NITECORE 1000 lumens $64.00. Oh, lumen ratings. I suspect that you have take the ratings with a grain of salt. I don't think they can be trusted, but these number are what the manufacturers claim. Now I'm going to back to Amazon to check on a EIGHT THOUSAND LUMEN FLASHLIGHT. (Well, that's what they claim). BUYER BEWARE: Amazon has a 120,000 lumen tactical flashlight for $52.00. I quit.
Surprisingly - no love for Thrunite. The contact points for the batteries is proven to be better than Olight and others. Thrunite should be on the list. Oops, I see you have one Thrunite on the list.
I got the Olight Warrior Mini 2. (sky color) My first rechargeable. I liked the fit 'n finish/ease of charging, etc., so I got three more to give out as gifts. ~ lol, a decent gift cuz who'd in my fam. would spend 90.00 on a small torch.
Yeah thats a great first rechargeable light to start out with! Might be worth grabbing a spare battery and charging cable while you are at it! Thats a great gift, you have a lucky family lol
Depends on a lot of different factors like how often you use them ( typically they are only good for a few hundred cycles) and the length of time they are stored ( 3-5 years would be max reliable life)
As someone already say it there is only one Tactical light there. The Klarus! You can't say tactical and have 2 buttons far from eachother. A good tactical light is the new Fenix TK20R V2.0. Maybe the best!
I believe the Klarus lights are used by various police forces in asia and would be excellent for self defense and also have a very robust strike bezel.
Which is my favorite depends on what I am going to use it for. I have most of those, if not the exact model such as in the case of the Fenix PD35 V3.0, I have a v.2.0. They are all great lights in their own rights. Otherwise I would just own one. Thanks for another great video.
Agreed! I try to pick a well balanced mix of lights for these comparisons so everyone can find something they like! Glad you enjoyed it. Let me know if you have any other ideas for comparisons.
@@UrbanSurvivor No Sir I have no suggestions as you are doing an outstanding job. And that is an excellent group for comparisons. Thanks for the great content, I really enjoy these very useful videos.
Should have had the m2r pro warrior or warrior 3 since it’s a “tactical” light vid. The bezel is nice to have when you need to actually use it as a kubaton.
This video was specifically for 18650 tactical lights and those are both 21700 lights. I am planning to do a 21700 tactical comparison and will most likely include one of those lights though! I reviewed the warrior 3 a few months ago and really like it.
You chose the wrong Sofirn Flashlight. You should have chosen the Sofirn Sp35. It uses a 21700 battery and produces 2000 lumens so it has a longer runtime. It throws over 300 meters. But it doesn't have a small hotspot like the Wurkkos FC12 does. It actually has a great spill making it much better all around flashlight and yet still throws far.Farther than the FC12. And you can use a 18650 battery in it with an adapter sleeve,or just use some thin foam to keep the bettery from rattling. The Sp31v2 is only 1200 lumens with the LH351 5000k. It's rated 100 meters less than the SP35 in throw. And at least you should have used the Sofirn SC31 Pro under $40 with ,if you want to strictly limit this comparison to 18650 flashlights. It also has 2000 lumens but only is rated at 200 meters in throw. But it has a much more floodier beam pattern. If you're trying to see something over 225 meters away, why would you want such a small hotspot like the Wurkkos or Thrunite? The Acebeam has both going on because it floods and throws far. But cmon,it's over $100 bucks! The Sofirn SP35 is under $40 and I bet it's only slightly bigger in diameter. I bet you wouldn't notice it in your pocket. But with the prices of the 21700 batteries coming down,as cheap or cheaper than the high output 18650's,and they have 1000 mahs more than the 18650's, what's the point? 18650 flashlights are becoming obsolete. 21700 is better, and can supply more lumens. Then you can run in the high mode instead of turbo so the head doesn't get unusable from the heat.
Hey your link for the Klarus doesn't get you to the VERSION 2. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Its only coming up with the previous generation with the 2200 lumen output.
You're welcome and thank you so much for watching! I recently published a new version of this video in case you want to see some more options ua-cam.com/video/E4eQaSKmo7I/v-deo.html
Glad you enjoyed it! Working on a 21700 tactical comparison video to release this weekend. Will be a few good options with slightly higher outputs and excellent runtimes.
Nice video definitely subscribing, one thing tho, I can't believe OEMs are still using micro-USB ports in either batteries or ports. Also, just my opinion, but the Klarus with the dual tail switch design is the only tactical light here, instant access to On and strobe is essential. Side switches imo are not ideal for tac use.
I have done a 21700 Comparison - ua-cam.com/video/iSuyfWfxFUE/v-deo.html and a 21700 Thrower Comparison ua-cam.com/video/s28W7kfIEQw/v-deo.html and am working on a 21700 tactical comparison!
Looks like you may have had that FC12 on Eco instead of moonlight in that part of the test. There's no way 1 lumen would be that bright compared to the other supposedly lower moonlight modes (e.g., the PD35's 5 lumens).
consider camera exposure. he likely had to adjust the exposure manually to prevent the camera from overexposing the darker modes so in order to make sure the .5 lumen mode wasnt invisible the exposure was probable calibrated to that light so anything brighter would seem much much brighter with the same settings. the camera doesnt seem to be adjusting automatically to the changing light levels so id suspect this is why. a wider beam angle illuminating more white paper causing it to look super bright from flashback with a high exposure setting on the camera. its really really hard to showcase a lighty source with a camera but i think he did a great job keeping the assessment fair by locking the exposure and iso during his eval walks and book reading demo

Why is it so incredibly hard to find a good pure flood light? I've been looking for one for months and it's all either mixed Beam, head mounted or marketed as "flood" except it had that annoying hot spot. And yes, I hate hot spots in lights. Currently I'm using a no brand cheapo light from a local shop and I have its cap completed removed to get pure flood. But that exposes the wires and stuff so it's not ideal. I am at a point now that I'm thinking of buying some cheap LEDs and making a flood light myself.

Yeah Fenix was very impressive! The beam profile is very similar to the Acebeam p15! Thanks for watching Tank! Got an LEP comparison in the works.
Any difference in color rendering quality?
Subjective, claimed and measured?
The good thing about the fenix and some of the others is the fact that they uses standard cells unlike the olight.
Agreed! I wish they all would use a standard battery type!
Olight is terrible. The charging cable are rubbish, you never know if its fully charged, major issues with magnetic charging ! I own 8 of their lights & i just bought my 1st fenix light for camping (headlight) . Long story short i posted ever olight i own on offer up ! Moving to FENIX
I can second that olights charging cable is garbage I wish they would just use usb c
Wow, so many great choices! I was just looking for 5 or 6 of the same flashlights for looking out our home's windows at night and to 100 feet. Let me know if you can suggest any of those in particular
Are the Workos and Sofirn lights good lights? Reliable? TIA
Yeah I would definitely say so! I own about 10 sofirn lights and 4 wurrkos lights and they are some of my most used lights and also the most affordable!
Great review! Which do you feel has the best build quality?
Nice review. Any of these made in the US?
Really good review, one of the best of it's kind! I really liked how you walked with each flashlight.
OLIGHT WARRIOR MINI 2 FLASHLIGHT - RECALLED HOT HOT HOT!
Is 18650 battery a standard size that any brand would fit?
No Stream Lights? 18650 or 2 CR123a's. Stream Light's Pro tac 2L-X is my Fave edc (500 lumens). Ive read a lot about Olight being over advertised and true quality isnt all there. But havnt tested yet. At one point. I jumped ship from Stream Light to Nitecore. Shortly later. Got rid of 90% of my Nitecore's and jumped heavily back into Stream light starting with 2 Protac 5L-X (3,500 lumens). Fantastic for a Security Guard on Night Duty.
i own most of the lights tested here..but my personal fav is the x11gt pro v2....especially when it comes to tactical, robustness and the performance it produces.
can you list which ones specifically you own?
@@HelluhKwin pd35,mh11,warrior mini 2,p15,sp31 , fc12 n x11gtprov2
@@LevelCyclery great! I’ll probably end up getting the x11gt pro then
Merry Christmas too you ⛄. Great videos , my husband is looking for a new flashlight.
Thank you for letting me know! I updated it and should be working now - amzn.to/36RpAne
I cant believe no Eagtac 😣 most slept on brand IMO
Really like the combination of size, output, and runtimes on the Warrior Mini 2.
Yeah I really like how floody that light is!
I really liked the olight most. I have the s2r baton 2 and it's been a champ
How is it that a Nitecore light is not included?
Really appreciate you providing chapters! Also, it is great that the translate feature is present in the comments section. Is that something that you as the content provider have to pay for? Not all videos have that and I appreciate the ability to read all the comments for insights from around the world.
Subscribed!
Kind regards,
John
There is the Nitecore Mh11! Most of the time i do include a nitecore light in my comparisons. You cant leave them out!
I believe that the translator is standard... not something creators have to opt in for.
Thank you for watching! Let me know if you have any other ideas for comparisons!
Wow great video. 21700 battery time?
I quit.
The strop option, tail switch, starting at the highest settings are the bare minimum options to call a flash light a tactical flash light
Surprisingly - no love for Thrunite. The contact points for the batteries is proven to be better than Olight and others. Thrunite should be on the list.
Oops, I see you have one Thrunite on the list.
I put a Fenix 18650 battery in my Streamlight Protac 2lx and it works but doesn't change modes.
Ya, some of my thrunites dont accept tenergy 18650s. Not enough juice i guess.
I buy a lot of different Klarus lights. soder work on older ones were problematic but appear to be fine now
Lot of good lights. When I see flashlight companies use proprietary charging cables or batteries it dissuades me from buying from them.
What are the tactical flashlights for 21700? P.S. Found a video on your channel! You are master!
my thrunite battery died less than two years.,, how long does the battery last at full use.
Depends on a lot of different factors like how often you use them ( typically they are only good for a few hundred cycles) and the length of time they are stored ( 3-5 years would be max reliable life)
Sir I want to purchase OLight Warrior Mini 2 .. pls send me link to buy this product...
cloud defensive mch 18650 is my choice, a bit of $$ but worth it with the king of light you get.
As someone already say it there is only one Tactical light there. The Klarus! You can't say tactical and have 2 buttons far from eachother. A good tactical light is the new Fenix TK20R V2.0. Maybe the best!
Цікаве порівняння. Дякую за інформативні відео. Дуже подобається дивитися та слухати, ви дуже спокійно та приємно описуєте. Вітання з України)

Klarus XT11GT Pro 2.0 has a PVD Coating bezel, i believe it is stainless steel rather than aluminum
During your Olight Mid Comparison 10:03 something bright flew across. What is that?
probably a firefly
6:46; The numbers listed at the top are a repeat of the FC12. Actual throw is 225m.
Which is the best for self defense to blind someone
Is there anyway you could add prices like you have before it’s a huge help thank joy for the video
I added prices and a few different purchasing options to the description!
Olight Warrior Mini 2 is the best 18650 tactical light for its size.
I love my klarus xt2cr, but my flashlight addiction is starting to itch 😂
@@tims_always_fishing7117 Mode and power buttons both on the tail cap is a poor design especially if wearing gloves.
@brucebelvin2058 it's works for me and my job/applications of use.
hey dude you make nice videos what is the best tactical long range flashlight you can suggest me?
The Sofirn C8G is a pretty nice tactical light and very reasonably priced!
Here is a video comparing it to some other 21700 throwers ua-cam.com/video/s28W7kfIEQw/v-deo.html
No Modlite or Cloud Defensive?
Size, weight, and functions led me to the Warrior Mini 2.
Can they take the Sanyo 3500 battery?
Should have had the m2r pro warrior or warrior 3 since it’s a “tactical” light vid. The bezel is nice to have when you need to actually use it as a kubaton.
This video was specifically for 18650 tactical lights and those are both 21700 lights. I am planning to do a 21700 tactical comparison and will most likely include one of those lights though! I reviewed the warrior 3 a few months ago and really like it.
@@UrbanSurvivor my apologies I could have sworn my m2r pro had 18650 but I was wrong 😂
@@UrbanSurvivor The TK-22 is a nice 21700 flashight from fenix if you want high CD (41K)
Is that waterproof sir thanks?
They each have different ratings for waterproof but all of these should be able to withstand a brief submersion.
Great review I'm not spending 80$ on one flashlight
The Brinyte PT28 should be on this list been using it on duty for 3 years and still running
Hey your link for the Klarus doesn't get you to the VERSION 2. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Its only coming up with the previous generation with the 2200 lumen output.
Thanks for catching this! I updated it to a version on AliExpress that appears to be correct!
Thanks for the comparisons.
You're welcome and thank you so much for watching! I recently published a new version of this video in case you want to see some more options ua-cam.com/video/E4eQaSKmo7I/v-deo.html
outstanding comparison, thanks!
Hi thanks for the fideo, do you know tactical flashlight that can do momentary strobo with bottom tail only?
Yeah if you hold the smaller of the two tail switches down on the Klarus XT11GT PRO V2.0 it will strobe! They make great lights!
Waiting on my fc12 to get here but I think it’s solely a “slim pocket thrower”
SOFRIN IF22A?
Great review . Packed with information. Thanks.
👍
You should do best 21700 flashlights
I have done a 21700 Comparison - ua-cam.com/video/iSuyfWfxFUE/v-deo.html and a 21700 Thrower Comparison ua-cam.com/video/s28W7kfIEQw/v-deo.html and am working on a 21700 tactical comparison!
Vergleichstest: Sehr Gut Präsentation Wer sich mit solchen Fingernägeln ins Bild setzt söllte keine Videos machen.
man i love the looks of the olight mini warririor
En mi opinión la mejor en cuanto a características y prestaciones la Warrior mini 2, es la que ilumina mejor, más campo y buen enfoque difuminado,.
Klarus.. Anytime.. Anyday.. 😉👌
Good reviews Bro! But they are not in the same level competitor. some basic models and some professional models.
I like to show how the budget brands stack up to the more expensive brands to help people see the difference.

Check out my new 14500 comparison video the lumintop fwaa is a great flood light!
Olight baton 3 pro max. Very floody
Would have been great to see an armytek here too.
