I have 200 acres mostly big open oaks red and whites ,,in taking 2000 trees off now all over 18 inches leaving all under that messurement ,,leaving tops in place opening the canopy creatung more bedding in strategic spots and letting sunlight to the ground ,,i know ut will be good and promote regeneration and better canopy and production of acorns ..im praying its a total sucess , this year will tell

I think you’ll see a difference. Especially in the areas you have more debris on the ground.
