Great information, not just for new hunters, it's also a good refresher video 👍👍 Make sure you have clearance to draw the bow once you're in the setup. Bumping a tree limb when you draw the bow with deer in the area will get you busted almost every time.
Once I'm in my tree I range points to remember rough distance points so I don't need to use it infront of a deer pretty easy I think I've shot 2 deer past 35 yards in 20 years you gotta be patient still quite and the best scent eliminator is playing the wind also a big tip learn to draw straight across the chest and shoot sitting down if you practice anything try this I've gotten prolly 30 deer an learned alot over the years hope this helps
You made some good points, but start at the beginning... when you buy a bow don't over bow yourself, you don't need 70 pounds to shoot deer, get a bow you can comfortably pull 30 times and pull it sitting down. Most bow hunting is done in cold weather and its a lot different pulling a bow with a coat than a t-shirt. Practice every night even if it's only 5 arrows, but remember your 1st shot is what counts so really concentrate on your form and make the 1st arrow you shoot perfect. And yes don't fall for all the hype and BS you see on hunting shows. You don't need rattling horns, scents, carbon clothes or the big buck 2000 grunt call. In fact on public it's usually best to sit there quietly. I do use scent killer but I don't rely on it but every bit helps. Hopefully you have a friend or someone from work to guide you and help you keep from making so many mistakes. And leave your phone on silent and in your pocket !!! Many deer ain't even seen because the hunter was playing games on his phone 😂 Buy the best clothes you can afford, especially boots bibs and coat. You can't hunt if your freezing to death your just thinking about the warm truck. Just a few tips but as you know there's so much more. Good luck to all...
Just out of curiosity why not make a dope card around your blind/stand for quick reference without ranging? Say the water is 45m and the rock pile is 15m
I'm still new I got my first deer "doe" 2 weeks ago I've got a huge mature buck on my property and I'm only comfortable with a 20yrd shot but I'm not confident getting that close to him I don't have a blind or a stand. I see him every night...should I try to take him or wait 30days for rifle season? I don't want to bump him away by trying to take him with my bow please tell me what you would do
I would wait. You’re not going to get that much more confident in your shots before rifle season comes along. Also, don’t sell yourself short on not being able to get close enough. Just make sure you play the wind right and only hunt when the conditions are right.
@@InformedOutdoors okay awesome that's what I thought. Well hopefully you'll hear back from me in 30days with a nice buck on the ground thanks again so much for your help!
Nothing beats getting a trophy deer with a bow it takes more talent and skill at this point in my life I bow huntball season an skip archery alot of times I pass up deer several times a season just waiting on the best one and prolonging my season food for thought
More people are trying it because of all the crap UA-cam content starting to make it look like bass pro fishing or something with all the cool looking gear and sweet camo. Wonder how many thousands of deer get shot and rot in the woods now.
💯 correct on all. Also knowing the caliber of bucks in the area. We all aren’t hunting Iowa lol
Good point!
Sunday is open day and it my first alone bow hunt
Good luck!

You definitely can. I’ve heard of people deliberately placing markers in food plots as yard markers.

Man I hope not but I bet you’re right.
