I'm overseas Chinese in Indonesia. You speak Eng fluently. My friends said that even the native speakers make mistakes so focus more on how to use the correct words according to the context.
I don't speak Chinese daily so I'm not fluent. Sometimes I feel ashamed of myself because of this but then I keep reminding myself not to give up as I've come this far doing my best. I know I'm bad at the langguage but I never avoid the chance to have a conversation in Chinese.
I believe your efforts will bring you results in the near future.

I can only imagine how hard it is for you to learn new sounds and adjust to a new set of grammatical rules. I have a degree in English, but what really has helped me learning was diving in the culture, speaking with natives and taking some time to learn the actual rules of the language. Some things you will only achieve by trial and error, you can't let it get you down. Remember this. Everytime you get something right, be proud because you did it! Everytime you make a mistake, stay humble and take it as a lesson. 🧡 I'd be glad to help you with anything you need anytime.

Im an American. Im going to visit taiwan soon, and I want to visit the mainland eventually.
I just want to say im very happy your learning english, I would like to recommend a few english books that i liked:
    The grapes of wrath
    The pearl
    To kill a mockingbird
Anyways, please do not let the racism affect you, there are many americans who are friendly to chinese people, especially in certain places like California and New york.
Also, even if you are writing things down to be spoken, you still speak well with great pronounciation.

You are an amazing human being. Your English is just fine. It is as good as mine and I was born and raised in an English country. Don't get discouraged. Please ignore the negative comments. Unfortunately, there will always be people like that in this world. I have been following what is going on in your country for some time now. The Government corruption is overwhelming. Hello Chia Lin,
I am from India so you see I am not a native speaker. But I can confidently speak fluent and correct English. I have been learning English when I was a kid it is mandatory in school, workplaces everywhere. I took English classes to help me with the curriculum and also speak fluently. I would like to give you some tips.
    1. My teacher told me and this really really helps which everyone misses out. READ BOOKS (FICTIONAL, NON FICTIONAL)I can't stress more on this fact, to increase vocabulary you HAVE to READ Books. If you don't you won't actually notice how same words are being used differently in a sentence. You will come across different words mark them and make a separate notebook where you write the meaning maybe in your language or in simple English. Please follow this tip.
But don't start with difficult books if you want I can give you lists of books you should start as a beginner.
    2. I remember there were many exercises in our books where a word was given and we needed to make sentences ensuring that word is there in the sentence. Once you find difficult words you note them in your notebook and try making sentences in your own with that word.
    3. If your reading is not good, make sure you read out loudly any paragraphs or essays in English, while reading record yourself and compare the progress each day.
    4. Try interacting with people who knows English. Internet is a good facility for connecting with people all over the world. Just ignore the negative ones. Those who really want you to do better will never laugh at you.
    5. Every week pick a particular day and write an essay on any topic on your own. Trust me this helps. Now after a week you read that same essay again you will find some errors in your own writing.
    6. Always know English is a beautiful language. Don't take stress What I feel after learning English is that it must sound good to your ears. When you speak wrong English your ears and brain will itself understand something is wrong, for that you can always listen to English videos.
    7. Don't try to do the accent first. Focus on grammar, vocabulary and speaking.
I hope these tips will definitely help you. I am eager to know your progress and I will definitely help you if you need any! Thankyou for reading this far!
    P. S. This is an edit. Please use a dictionary not any mere app not even Google to find word meanings. It will ruin your focus and might make you distracted! Dictionaries are very good as while looking for one word you will come across with synonyms, and maybe some more new words. Use Oxford's English Dictionary it's very good!

@@ChiaLin-speakEnglish Some books you can start with:-
      1. Heidi (Johanna Spyri)
      2. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(Mark Twain)
      3. Little Women (Louisa May Alcott)
      4. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd(Agatha Christie)
(This book is a part of a detective series of Hercule Poirot if you like this one you can read other Hercule Poirot books)
      5. Charlie and the Chocolate factory (Roald Dahl)
These are very few. English literature is vast and so is it's beauty. Don't think that they are children's books so you can't read them . The storyline is for kids but as a beginner you should try. Feel free to take up book suggestions! Thankyou you read the comment. I am so touched 🥰😍

I would say it is something that comes with time, I am not a native English speaker so I've been where you are. Well my tip is just to consume as much English content as you can, just find youtubers that post content that you like and maybe try reading books if you feel confident! Well if you like comics I would recomend apps like webtoon, I think reading English comics is a good start if you want to read because they also have images and the dialogues are smaller so they're easier to read. Also about the racism, man these people are so stupid! You're just posting your inofensive videos and they're pissed? Wth!!! I hope your channel grows and good luck learning English :]

Even though you've prepared what you said beforehead, I believe you have a very good pronunciation. This might sound absurd but Gabriel Wyner who's a polyglot and a language expert always insists on working on pronunciation as a fundamental aspect at the beginning of your learning journey, and in your case you already have a good one. You should appreciate what you have, and concerning those who would laugh at you, their behavior merely reflects their inmaturity. When I started learning English 4 years ago ppl bullied me from time to time, though I didn't care about them bcs they barely could speak proper standard Arabic (our mother tongue), and here I am today with 4 foreign languages along with my native tongue, Arabic. You could do it too. 加油.

I am from the U.S.. I have been watching your vidoes. I think you english is very amazing. I understand how hard it is to learn and speak in any other languages then your own home country. I have been trying to learn many languages such as Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese and French. Though because the U.S. mainly speaks English. Practicing out and about daily life I don't get use the languages I am learning. Though i have to agree interacting with people to learn English and Chinese is a really good way to learn then just with books, or auto or videos. I would love to learn Chinese to speak properly. Though i know mistakes are a given and fear can be a pain. But I plan to travel next year. And honestly as I tell myself but also to the children I work with and have. Never let fear take you down and mistakes brush off and learn from. Dont beat yourself up for it. Keep moving forward and keep your head up and keep smiling another day will present and you always try again. And to any one who laugh and puts you do. Turn the cheek because negative comments or actions are not worth time. So I hope this message put a smile on your face. Keep moving forward keep smiling. Don't worry you have people that support you and have faith in you. Your awesome. Keep up the good work 😊

I have learned up to HSK 4 in Mandarin. I am a country boy from a small town and I started studying Chinese because it's so interesting to me. Reading and writing are what I started with and it has helped me so much with my current studies. There will always be people who say foolish things about others. Ignore them because they are completely irrelevant. Do not give them any recognition when they say bad things about you because that gives them more reason to continue being this way and "feeds the fire" so to speak. 別擔心, 你的英語很快會更好啊. 加油!

Advices: watch movies in english with english subtitles, listen to english music and try to learn the lyrics yourself, find youtubers that create content that you like to watch and listen to the way they speak or the slang they use and try to memorize it and translate it for yourself so you know what it means. Also, most importantly, become friends with someone who is a native english speaker, or who speaks english very good. That way, you will be able to learn English through conversation easily, but of course, try to have a conversation with someone through texting as well.
P.S. don't be afraid to make mistakes even when people laugh, nobody was born with knowledge.

I can give lots of tips but I will give this one now: work on the rhythm of English. How to do this?...get a UA-cam video clip of one of the great actors ( eg Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud) playing a scene & just concentrate on the beautiful manly rhythm of theatrical English without worrying about the words..work on that rhythm, then try to apply it when you speak..you will sound more confident ...good luck my dear friend in cross-cultural studies...

    Advices and personal experience:
English is my first language, but when my parents tried to make me bilingual it made me forget 70% of my English. It was hard regaining my skills. It took me a solid 4 years, comparing to the 1 year that it took to master the language that made me forgot English. It was embarrassing and hard, but I found reading to be an incredible way to improve your vocab and understanding of sentence structure. It also washes off oddities/habits in your speech that comes along with having (let's say--) Chinese or whatever language you have as your first language. Make sure you read something you are interested in, though, like I love high fantasy so that's the route I go for, but if you are more into biography or news articles, read them instead to make your learning experience more enjoyable. It will be very hard at first, but you will definitely improve over time. And once you reach the level where you can interpret English definitions on your own, abandon your mandarin titled English dictionaries. My experience with languages is that there are never a perfect translation between them, and the definitions you see in mandarin can be biased. Also remember always to use dictionaries whenever you see a word you don't understand/recognize/can't pronounce! Online ones are fine by the way.
Second method is to watch dubbed TV shows, or English-speaking shows/movies that have both English and Chinese subtitles playing on the same time. It shows you what they say in their original language, while also having a mandarin translation underneath to help you understand. You do need to account for how accurate those translations are though... so take it with a grain of salt. Movies and shows are wonderful for learning colloquialism, and it's entertaining!
Lastly but very important, immerse yourself in an English speaking environment. I know this isn't very accessible unless you came from a family of immigrants or always grew up in the west like me, but you can only sponge up and utilize so little knowledge when you live in China without the need to use English on a daily basis. After all, just be patient and believe in yourself! Even if the English you speak in your videos are pre-scripted (aka. you made a script beforehand), the fact that they sound natural to us is incredible. What I usually see with mandarin speakers is that even though their grammar could be perfect, the sentence still makes no sense because they speak English as though they are speaking in mandarin, but with you, that problem is almost non-existent.
(ALSO PLEASE DON'T USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE, IT SUCKS.) I edited my comment so hopefully it will be more straight forward.

Problem with people like you learning English, you don't pay enough attention to phonetics, to how individual words are correctly pronounced and especially how words are pronounced in sequence, how words are linked, connected one to another so sentences have a natural flow to them. You're pronouncing sentences in a very staccato fashion, each word individually and it's quite hard to listen and understand. Thankfully youtube is a treasure trove of knowledge and anyone can learn proper English pronounciation.
