This is more of an issue for us and people outside Japan ( regarding credit cards). Japan has their own which is jcb and amex, but it's just not as wide spread for people outside of Japan.
Monopoly only in the west, they know they cant win with asia, hell asian countries barely use Visa and Mastercard, they have JCB as their main credit cards and Japan itself has around 8 or more online payment options that dont rely on those american based credit cards. Kinda sad JCB does not use this opportunity to expand from asia to the west as this would make a lot of people almost instantly swap for them over that woke crap.

I got into anime during the pandemic because it felt like the last bastion of unfiltered raw entertainment. I could watch fantasy shows again that were actually fun, and creative. I could watch trashy shows, I could watch acclaimed shows. It was all there and it felt so refreshing to have a source of media free from the mainstream corporate sanitization of most modern western content. Now the fun police are here to ruin that too, even when it’s not even their own culture? That’s so fucked up on so many levels.

Japan have their own credit payment processors called JCB, which is why they're willing to drop VISA and Masters. Japan sites stilk have a local market that pays via JCB but cutting off VISA and Masters does hurt international buyers. Gonna have to check out JCB global if you can get your hands on a card.

It all depends on how much money they have. The recent Song backtracking on PSN for Helldivers 2 happened because players really threatened their profits. But in Japan they have 6 or 7 options to pay none of them being the credit cards, i think what will happen faster than those pages deciding to disappear is showing the middle finger and just going back to Japan only. Also no Japan does not really use Visa or Mastercard, in Japan the most common methods to pay online are Convenience Store/Net Banking, Paidy, Pay Pay, FamiPay, D Payment, Line Pay, Web Money and au Kantan Kessai, the order here is random, i dont know which ones are most used from those, but from what i heard they barely use Visa or Mastercards.

This anime has a symbol that resembles the Nazi symbol, but the symbol was originally used for peace and prosperity, and now WW2 gave it a new meaning, so they ended up blurring it. I live in Japan now. Those censorship was applied to western users, and VISA/Master Card payment only. Usual contents are still available. The effect that I could noticed was purchases cannot be made with credit card. Must be done using other local payments such as bank transfer, convenience store, or Japanese Cashless applications.
You may not be interested in politics, but politics are interested in you, especially when "the personal is political" is a popular slogan on the left. I look at anime and manga as a creative Renaissance, after American media became stale. However, similar forces that ruined American media now have global reach.

I said this in a previous video and I'll say it again. Please go on either Nerdrotic or Critical Drinker. They are two very popular UA-camrs that review and talk about pop culture. They mainly cover Hollywood movies and TV, along with some comics and video games. They both have weekly shows where they have on multiple other UA-camrs to discuss and react to news. Unlike manly UA-camrs, and similar to yourself, they are not fake. They are both authentic and genuine in their personalities. And like you, they are angry about the agenda being forced into entertainment. I would recommend reaching out to both of them. They might have you on one of their shows to talk about what's going on in anime. They both will have on sports guys on their shows to talk about the decay going on in sports, even though neither of them are that into sports. They could help you reach a wider audience and let people know the threat to anime.

I got into anime during the pandemic because it felt like the last bastion of unfiltered raw entertainment. I could watch fantasy shows again that were actually fun, and creative. I could watch trashy shows, I could watch acclaimed shows. It was all there and it felt so refreshing to have a source of media free from the mainstream corporate sanitization of most modern western content. Now the fun police are here to ruin that too, even when it’s not even their own culture? That’s so fucked up on so many levels.

Japan have their own credit payment processors called JCB, which is why they're willing to drop VISA and Masters. Japan sites stilk have a local market that pays via JCB but cutting off VISA and Masters does hurt international buyers. Gonna have to check out JCB global if you can get your hands on a card.

anime was already enjoyed by many all over the world even before anime got official releases globally and those were the days when anime was made by Japanese for Japanese then shared to the world. DLSITE a page selling hentai games, manga, doujins, animataions and other releated stuff said they cant accept Visa and Mastercards anymore, and in terms of western countries the only way to purchase games on their side right now is by purchasing point cards on a different page and than purchasing products on their page. But in Japan they have 6 or 7 options to pay none of them being the credit cards, i think what will happen faster than those pages deciding to disappear is showing the middle finger and just going back to Japan only.
Also no Japan does not really use Visa or Mastercard, in Japan the most common methods to pay online are Convenience Store/Net Banking, Paidy, Pay Pay, FamiPay, D Payment, Line Pay, Web Money and au Kantan Kessai, the order here is random, i dont know which ones are most used from those, but from what i heard they barely use Visa or Mastercards.

@@otozm92 DLSITE is also looking into other methods of letting people in the west purchase games and other content from their page. For now the point cards are great cause those credit card companies cant deny that, as those are just simple point cards.
@@otozm92 by buying points for dlsite you still give money to those credit card companies, as you still use you card to buy points, I do hope dlsite staff find an alternative that will don't require to use those cards so they lose this. Though the fact is, Japan should push back cause those are clear acts of aggression against them, as those rules don't apply to American based companies, and those companies still can sell animated and drawn pron without any problems
This is just an attack on artistic freedom and expression. It’s a shame that they’re this deathly afraid of anime/manga and Japanese media in general. They’re part of the reason why we have people like Ken Akamatsu fighting for artistic freedom and expression to begin with.

It feels like every channel that I liked at one point is turning into a political buzzword farming channel. The reason I watch anime and youtubers like you is to escape from all that toxicity, so I appreciate you acknowledging that you also don't care to be a part of that. Also after finishing the video I saw that you mention how you like to avoid that as well. I don't mind you talking about this type of stuff, I actually enjoy it because it keeps me up to date. I feel like a broken record but I called this out more than 10 years ago when they started doing this to political dissidents, than again when they started doing it to adult games, than when they started doing to more main stream political commentators, now were in the anime era. Banks shouldn't be able to deny customers. If they are doing something illegal the police should do something not the banks.

We the older fans learned about anime and manga through different means (if you know what I mean). Because back then still today Japanese companies don't give a shit how to actually promote their staff to the entire world, Americans did it for them. Now that Americans for one more time turn everything into dust with their "woke" hands, we will take our hats we will sing yohoho and watch the actual Japanese stuff uncensored from the source.
It's time for a parallel economy. If this keeps up, companies are gonna start taking alternative methods of digital payment.

Tokyo revengers has been affected by this. This anime has a symbol that resembles the Nazi symbol, but the symbol was originally used for peace and prosperity, and now WW2 gave it a new meaning, so they ended up blurring it. I don't have a problem with censorship when it is in minor details that don't affect the story and the characters, I have an issue with censorship that does the exact opposite. It is basically getting to the point of where censorship is so bad that I have to say that people who want the egregious and strict amount of censorship, should just follow China's ideals, because there, censorship is unbelievable.

Paraphrasing, they basically want to control which companies can get paid and which not throught acoording to DEI criteria by controlling the credit card companies, among other examples

I live in Japan now. Those censorship was applied to western users, and VISA/Master Card payment only. Usual contents are still available.
The effect that I could noticed was purchases cannot be made with credit card. Must be done using other local payments such as bank transfer, convenience store, or Japanese Cashless applications.

I said this in a previous video and I'll say it again. Please go on either Nerdrotic or Critical Drinker. They are two very popular UA-camrs that review and talk about pop culture. They mainly cover Hollywood movies and TV, along with some comics and video games. They both have weekly shows where they have on multiple other UA-camrs to discuss and react to news. Unlike manly UA-camrs, and similar to yourself, they are not fake. They are both authentic and genuine in their personalities. And like you, they are angry about the agenda being forced into entertainment. I would recommend reaching out to both of them. They might have you on one of their shows to talk about what's going on in anime. They both will have on sports guys on their shows to talk about the decay going on in sports, even though neither of them are that into sports. They could help you reach a wider audience and let people know the threat to anime.
It really needs to be illegal for credit card companies and banks to hold any sort of political/ideological position.
