What a blast from the past with Pamela Creighton and Chris Bickerton. BTW, I always thought his surname was Pickerton with a P until I saw his obituary.

This is why I subscribe to your channel! Love to hear radio ephemera like this. And a nice bit of library music too - Quite Contrary by Syd Dale.

They don't make them like that anymore! (Which is probably good) I produced a few of these in the late 80s - they didn't sound quite as dated as this! Great to hear both Chris and Pam again.

I love old World Service - these days it is like sound only BBC News channel. I remember World Radio Club, Victor Sylvester (late on Monday nights), their own version of Twenty Questions ("Animal Vegetable and Mineral") I believe that "The Men From The Ministry" was first broadcast on WS and repeated on the Home or Light about a fortnight later. Also, a lot of Home Service/R4 shows were run on WS a couple of weeks after their original transmission, so if you missed an episode of, say, Brain of Britain, you could hear it on WS two or three weeks later.

Here's a forty odd year old plea! Back in the 70s, I would listen to the shared 30mins English/30mins German frequency 1080kHz. I LOVED the theme tune to "The World Today", but nobody seems to remember it at all. Does anyone have it? Better yet, does anyone know the name? I'm guessing it's a KPM/De Wolfe/Bruton Production Music theme, and so there's a chance I can locate it in fine super 60s split channel stereo.
Anybody out there that can help me with this? Thank you!!

I agree it was a great theme. It's called Roving Report 1 and can be found on the DeWolfe library website.
