Amazing up beating orchestration, mildly peppy according to the very late 20s dance trends, signaling the Only moto of that year… THE CRAZY YEARS ARE OVER… Unfortunately for good… thank you for sharing
What a delightful medley of favorite tunes. I wonder if Hugh Laurie took inspiration from this vocal when he sang a similar, charming rendition of “Talking Picture” on the TV series “Jeeves and Wooster.”
Fine…Jack Payne is always good listening…a request, Andy-Payne recorded a song, “The Star and the Rose” (1936, I think)…if you have that recording, could you kindly post it? Thank you for your continuing wonderful posts of yesteryear’s top pop music.
Always love more Jack Payne! Thanks for the upload!
A splendid Henderson-DeSylva-Brown score expertly rendered by the reliable Payne orch!

Yes I think most British renditions are in this mode and Jack does it very well. So does Hugh for that matter!

Sorry Spencer, I've just had a look and I haven't got it I'm afraid.
Roy Fox did a version of the Star and the Rose too, equally good. A lovely bittersweet song.
