Wish people knew wtf a VPN did before trying to push its "sponsored ads" on others just to make a quick buck. That's sad AF... A VPN has to encrypt and decrypt traffic which adds to delay of packet transfers. Just because the game says you have lower ping when on the VPN. Doesn't make it so. The game determines PING based on your "location" and connection to the game server. But if you are using a VPN, it believes your location is closer to their servers then you get "lower" ping. However, that is a false reading in game of your PING to the SERVER. Your packets still have to go from your location, to the VPN hub then to the server host... While also performing the decryption and encryption of packets. You are also adding another hop that packets have to go through before getting to the game server. Just because the VPN server is closer to your game server host, doesn't mean a better or more stable connection... Also to top it off most VPN providers actually often lowers your up and down speeds depending on the quality and location of the VPN server hubs... People need to read up on how a vpn works and stop pushing this falsehood on others. It may work for a very small select few people which all depends on your quality of internet and your location odes being used. However for majority of people. A VPN will actually worsen your traffic. Not make it better.
Andro Bourne yes exactly, but thats the reason why many vpn gives trials to let people test it. some game may work better then others , some just doesn’t work or made it worse. as from my personal experience, ive used exit lag to play Albion online, no good. then later i tried battleping with AAU here and it works wonders. and by working, i mean u really feel the responsiveness with/without vpn.

I work in IT. I'm failing to see how a VPN could possibly make your connection better unless they prioritize traffic from certain region s of the world. There many exceptions to this rule for more reasons than it's worth to get into. However as a generalization it's simply wrong.

The only caveat would be if it does something to your local system to slow down other task and prioritize the games traffic flow from your system. At the point though it's not technically a VPN, it's just an application that's prioritizing a type of traffic no different than what a router can do to prioritize either devices or things going across certain ports. *edit* Someone above me mentioned it prioritizing packets going to game servers. So yea if that's happening then it's just providing QoS enhancements to the game. I suppose to the layman saying it's a VPN that helps ping is probably the best way to describe it as it Can be a VPN and it definitely does seem to improve ping regardless of location.

With regards to VPN's, it is physically impossible to lower your ping with a VPN. By using a VPN you are literally adding in another hop for your connection. Please stop perpetuating this false information. You can lower your ping by changing the way your connection travels but you don't need a VPN for this. Other than this misinformation it was a good video.
That's literally what exitlag as a vpn does. Changes the routing of your connection. You can SAY it doesn't work all you like, but its literally been tested and proven that it works and does lower peoples ping. People can LITERALLY feel the ping difference when using VPN's like Exitlag, NoPing, and others. So its not false information :)
Technically it stabalise and try to minmize the range, not lower it. So many people who have clue how networking works assume vpns magically lower ping by a huge margin. Saying "lower" isn't wrong but it's misleading
Its technically not possible to lower ur ping via a vpn. Stabalising it, sure. But for most people with decent internet it will literally just increase ping
Lmfao you’re an idiot, I get 90 ping when playing LoL without a VPN but if I connect to a Chicago server it goes down to 61-65. This applies to WoW as well, for East serves I get 70-80 without VPN but if I use one it goes down to 50ish. And trust me it does work, movement and things like cast times are smoother as they should be.
One of the big problems is 30+ you hit the pvp zones for your quests so you either need a massive party/raid to do the quests or wait for the one hour of peace to do as many of the quests as you can

You want to be able to claim as much land as possible and that’s easiest at max level so you want to get there as fast as possible to do the grinding needed before land opens up once land is open and your main is all settled make and alt and experience the story it’s alrightish

I dont think you know what a VPN is... Anyone that knows how to google will tell you that a VPN DESTROYS your ping, its only useful to bypass IP Blocked services (different country Netflix/YT/Hulu/streaming video, browse the internet without being followed...etc a lotta shit that adds a heck of a lot of latency to your internet connection, thus more lag.
You know what I really wish somebody would have told me when I started? I wish somebody would have told me to install the glyph launcher on a different drive from Windows. Also to install the game in a subfolder of the glyph folder. Had I known that I wouldn't have spent three days continually re-downloading the game after it said that there was a Error with no explanation on how to fix it.

Vpns helps with stablizing your ping by selecting the shortest route for your network to send data over to the server. You can always just get exitlag for a free 3 days trial to try and see does it help. Sometimes it doesn't do anything because you are basically already on the best route
Kinda sad, all the character reservation dates were in the middle of the day when I couldn't get on and I'm pretty sure my server is gonna be full and I wont be able to play with my guild :(

I live in Australia and I am currently playing this game with Exitlag, without it I get 300 ping, with it, I get 46 ping. So yeah it works.

I'd strongly recommend doing mount sidequest. Going on a mount is so much faster than 9n yoyr legs.
Wish I could even launch the game without "The Server is busy, try again." And having to restart the whole game.

pc settings are different for everyone...everyone has different settings depending on their potato pc
If you pick battle pet, mount later, will it scale to your level? On pts my mount was falling behind in levels and I couldnt equip good armor on it.
If it hasn't changed from years ago the mounts and pets get exp when they are following you
