I liked Master Kohga. It’s not like he was supposed to be hard, it was a funny case of player misdirection. He wasn’t even a dungeon boss anyway. He’s more of a mini boss.
Give Kohga a break, he's like 120 years old. He's roughly the same age as Impa - and he's a Sheikah like her so it's not like he could potentially live many centuries like Zoras do. He's an old ass man.
Thats what i thought with Morpha. Its almost as if there is a pattern.. Similar it was in the great bay temple in Majoras Mask, just that Gyorg kicked my ass the first time around.
I didn’t play skyward sword until the switch, so I will say, I genuinely loved the game. The people, the story, how they made the land feel like if never been there, the amazing lanayru people and land! But when the imprisoned shows up, it makes me hate the game. It look away all interest in the story, luckily I got over it but man that boss is so annoying.
I hate the controls in both versions as well as various other aspects of Skyward Sword but it was the Imprisoned that made me quit entirely. I was forcing myself to try & beat it back on Wii but after like 5 fails against the obnoxious 2nd encounter with the worst boss in Nintendo history I got rid of my copy.
@@zada2423 the fact it returns as a boss in Hyrule Warriors almost ruined 2 games....it's less annoying in HW but still isn't remotely fun or interesting to encounter.
I like Master Kohga, he is underappreciated boss, and the Yigas themselves are not threatening once you witness how they talk and act. As for The Imprisoned I agree his fight is tedious but I actually liked his aesthetic.
@@Metzelteddy Ok yeah, so yeah, despite being so easy, the atmosphere and build up, as well as the appearance made him more of a visual masterpiece than a boss
Master kohga is a good boss he has a unique personality makes you use your shika slate abilities and it extremely tanky (compared to most other bosses in the game)
You didn't even mention the worst part about Morpha: you can just stand in the corners of the room and be completely safe. Morpha's tentacles aren't long enough to reach you.
I don’t consider the imprisoned to be a true, traditional boss fight, but yes he is somewhat annoying to fight 3 times in the game. Still a great Zelda title, one of my favorites!
5. And you know what's worse? There's a more powerful Blue Chuchu in the 3rd dungeon. Who has the same electrical abilities as regular Blue Chuchus, AND ITS A MINI-BOSS! This thing was so lame that a more powerful version of that same boss is a mini-boss in a later dungeon. And that dungeon's main boss does the idea of a normal enemy turned giant better than that Chuchu does. 2. A Link Between Worlds fixed it a little bit by saving the damage you dealt to him when you are knocked off. He won't heal at all! But there's a new problem, he looks like a cheeseburger! 1. The 3rd and final Imprisoned fight especially awful as he now has the ability to fly, so he can just float to the top. One wrong shot from the Groosinator, and it's over!
I was just about to say that! The water level in Minish Cap was already annoying, but having to deal with that electric blob was a pain. And making that worm look like a cheeseburger was definitely a odd design choice.
When I got to the 3rd imprisoned fight once I got to the top I missed its head but I JUST made it back up and finished it off. You can imagine how fast my heart was racing after that
The moldorm boss can be improved in many ways: How about a supercharge aimed at you that if you dodged it successfully and he crashes into a wall, he gets stunned and you can damage the boss. Of course you going to have walls on some edges of the arena to make this possible. How about him occasionally launching small particle projectiles around the room that stuns link?
How is armagohma bad? Think about all those people with arachnophobia and they get to smash the life out of a giant one. Yes they have to get over the fact it’s a giant spider but it’s just. So. Satisfying.
its really unnerving how a good chunk of these are water bosses also i would put demise in here as well but not for being a bad boss only because of the fact that you have to do diagonal sword slashes which are unnecessarily hard to do
I loved Skyward Sword but I wish two bosses were removed (not counting the imprisoned) then being tentalus, and the second ghirahim fight in the fire sanctuary, where granted it does build his character it makes us lose the possibility of an awesome boss like koloktos or like my fav boss fight moldarach
You were talking about the cheese method for the imprisoned...lol. Getting on the things head and hammering down the stake is way faster and easier than hitting the toes
To be fair, the battle with Kohga is SUPPOSED to be a joke. The Yiga Clan has been built up as this terrifying force that attack Link whenever he least expected and there are guards (some inside of the clan that can ONE HIT KILL Link that constantly praise Kohga as this powerful individual that is worthy of following under Ganon). Then when you get to him, turns out he is all talk and no show (though his skills aren't to be trifled with). It was meant to have the player (and Link) see this big bad supposed right hand to Ganon be someone that ends up being so weak that even a moblin could take out
I think what made Tantalus an even bigger letdown is that we had pretty decent bosses in the first 3 dungeons, followed by one of the best bosses in the series. It was hard for Tentalus to come right after Koloktos…
I know I've made this comment before on a similar YT video, but IMHO, one of the WORST Zelda bosses is Smog, the 5th dungeon boss from Oracle of Ages. It is a giant poison cloud monster that splits itself up into multiple parts that rotate around anything that has a side to attach itself to (whether it's the wall or the strategically placed bricks in the room); forcing you to use the dungeon item, the Cane of Somalia, to create 1 brick at a time to force it back together again to deal damage. Oh, and it shoots out poison clouds and lighting bolts for you to dodge while doing so.
Oracle of Ages definitely has problems in the boss department. Head Thwomp. Eyesoar and Plasmarine are pretty lame too. Smog is just another block puzzle. A block puzzle that attacks you while you try to solve it.
I feel like I have only seen the worst bosses in Zelda on this channel, I think it's time we go over the best bosses in every Zelda game and ranking the best bosses just so we can finally have a balance
Dishonorable Mentions: *Barba - The Legend of Zelda 2 -His fire shots are fired at inconsistent intervals and knock you back if they connect. And if you fall into the lava pits, that's it. Link is dead. *Gyorg - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask -The Great Bay Temple was already tedious enough, and it's boss was even more so. *Big Dodongo - The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure -All you have to do is feed it a level 2 bomb. Except there's a problem. This is a co-op game. So while one player is laying down bombs, what are the other players doing? NOTHING! You can beat this boss without any help from the other players. *Calamity Ganon Phase 2 - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild -All he does is fire off an easily avoidable screw-you laser and there isn't even a timer to put you in peril.
Honestly Master Kohga's difficulty level seems intentional. He comes across as a guy who quit practicing bc he thought no one could touch him, then when he actually fights, he gets obliterated. I feel like he may have been intentionally easy as part of his character.
I like Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Ganondorf is one of the newcomer characters in Super Smash Bros Melee along with Bowser, Dr. Mario, Falco, Ice Climbers, Marth, Mewtwo, Mr. Game & Watch, Peach, Pichu, Roy, Young Link and Zelda/Sheik
*sigh* The imprisoned was a good boss. You clearly haven’t even tried to defeat him, if you think he wasn’t intimidating or hard to beat. I really don’t think that all Zelda bosses should be the same kind of scariness or use the same kind of strategies used to defeat them, and you’re really narrowing down the possibilities of what the bosses could even be. At least you didn’t put Ghirahim in here. That would be a sin.
I think it was really challenging, I was a preteen when the game came out for the Wii and I had so many rage quits and cried so much after trying and trying🤣but i liked it, I even thought he looked kinda cute.
I don’t even think Master Kohga counts as a boss - he’s more like a mini-boss, with the main bosses being the x-blight ganons, which each give you a champion skill as the completion reward.
Kohga does not deserve to be on this list. He's supposed to be a joke, that's his entire purpose. He absolutely succeeds in being the silly, fun encounter he's supposed to be.
Personally I think links awakening had the worst bosses, they were so underwhelming and died super quick. I actually like armogohma, it’s easy but that doesn’t make it bad, Argorok is even easier and that doesn’t make him bad
They just can't seem to get the water dungeon bosses right. Need them to be more like Gyorg (gives you a mask that makes fighting in water more fun) or Koloktos (no water in the room). Head Thwomp in the Wing Dungeon of Oracle of Ages makes me dread it. Because in keeping with one of the themes of the dungeon, the boss is a dice block. It rolls whenever you throw a bomb into its top, but only one side of the 'dice' actually does damage. The rest trigger long counterattacks, and as a result even with good timing this fight lasts forever. Imagine a boss where only every 4th hit actually does damage! Or more, if you're unlucky! That said, it would be interesting to have a full-on casino dungeon in a Zelda game: 'Champagne flutes and dinner suits that keep your focus away from the cheating hands, tell me...'
Moldorm should have occupied 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If they want to keep cramming him in, they deserve to lose points for each. I cannot believe anyone ever fought him and said "wow, they're going to love this!" in play testing.
And to think, the Imprisoned is literally the trapped form of the game's final boss. You never would've expected to see this awful creature turn into such a magnificent beauty of a final boss. The only thing that's even remotely appealing about the Imprisoned is how laughable its death is. I can't explain how funny it is listening to others describe him as an avocado, and how he gets crushed into guacamole..😂
NAW THE GREEN CHUCHU IS SO CREATIVE! That a small useless enemy could become "the boss" simply because you're small! It's also just the first dungeon boss. NAHH it's good.
Putting Master Kohga on this list is kind of ridiculous. He's supposed to be a pushover. That's the whole point of his character - all bark and no bite. And this actually has a payoff in TOTK where he presents a much more enjoyable challenge.
The only reason I am not 100%ing SS is because I already defeated the imprisoned 5 TIMES (3 story, 2 for the hylian shield). Ain't no way in hell I am fighting that thing 3-6 times more just for 2 heart pieces
The imprisoned sucks so much. Like ss is my favourite but man, even once with the imprisoned would’ve been too much. It’s not even that it’s hard, it’s just BAD
I think Tentalus is underappreciated. Pretty much everything about the fight is great besides its design. I don't think it deserves to be one of the worst just because it looks like Mike Wazowski
