Probably my favorite boss fight from Twilight Princess was Phantom King Zant. It was basically a combination of being a multi-phase boss fight with a boss rush mechanic where you basically have to use every item in your arsenal to take him down although I will say his sudden change from being a cool, stoic villain to a crazy lunatic was a bit surprising to say the least.
My TP boss ranking is: 12. Diababa 11. Puppet Zelda 10. Armogohma 9. Morpheel 8. Fyrus 7. Stallord 6. Horseback Ganondorf 5. Blizzeta 4. Dark Beast Ganon 3. Argorok 2. Ganondorf 1. Zant TP doesn't have the best bosses, but the best dungeons.
I think it's incredibly stupid that you fight Ganon who then turns into Gandondorf. Oh no, that 2-ton Beast has just turned into a 200lb man, 50 year old man!
OOT final boss was better imo, from the settings to the build up, the atmosphere and up to the final strike it was perfection. If OOT wasn't released in 1998 and didn't have the clunky n64 controls
The final fight with Ganondorf in Twilight Princess just screams epic. The soundtrack, atmosphere, and build up to the fight really makes you feel like youre fighting for the fate of the whole world
I’m really happy to see a lot of the comments saying twilight Princess has some of the best bosses. And I agree. Although TP was my first LOZ game, so I’m pretty biased towards it. But I love that most of the boss battles are against massive creatures. The sense of scale is really cool, yet not overwhelming at all. Some of my other favorites are bongo bongo from OOT. And that creepy thing from OOT that had the hands reaching up out of the ground.
My favorite boss fight has to be zant. Not only is it an awesome boss rush where you use all ur items and he takes u to past boss rooms, but it’s also just so sick and compelling to see how fucked up that man is in the head. It really adds characterization and development to an awesome villain, and I love how wacky he is
I get a kick out of "mimicking" him in the last leg of the battle. Despite how unhinged he is at this point, he'll still hand you your butt if you're not careful.
My favorite has always been the fight with Ganondorf in wind waker. The whole atmosphere is just so cool and nothing is more satisfying that planting your sword in his head.
So glad to see Twinrova on here! They are still one of my all time favorite boss battles - the mechanics, the atmosphere, and the fun banter between them. 🔥❄️ I would have added Wind Waker Ganondorf to this list as well though - it’s so cinematic and well done!
What about the Helmaroc King? I remember defeating him for the 1st time with my childhood best friend & feeling so accomplished. Not only is the fight creative & fun, but has emotional depth. He kidnapped Aryll, then kicked us out of the fortress. But we finally got to rescue her & serve justice
I feel like Demise's fight was great. Especially if you didn't use the lightning XD it was the first boss I ever really struggled with and saw as a fun challenge. Not to mention It was pretty epic XD
I really, really miss the old long dungeons in Breath of the Wild. I know these small ones are cool and stuff, but it's just not the same. The longer you're in the game the longer you take to find one of these and when you find them you solve them in 1-7 minutes. The 4 longer ones were below average to say the least :(. hope they fix that in the sequel.
Same dude, i also miss getting item from them like the Bomb or grappling hook for exemple, so once you unlock that item you gotta go back the previous area to get heart container etc...
@@captainv6422 yeah man these things were just fun and you always were excited for a new item to get from the dungeons. BOTW is a fun game but not a good Zelda game in my opinion but i think that BOTW 2 will be pretty similart to BOTW
Aww, where's Ghirahim? All the fights were fun too! First was basically more sword and shield practice. Second was going all out. Third involved impaling him in the chest. That's awesome, c'mon!
His first fight was fun as hell to me. You are just trying to learn how to use the motion controls and then he straight up grabs your sword and takes it from you. I was shook when that hallened...
Yes, Ghiriham was a great boss fight. He was way funner to fight than watch. I watched Skyward sword on UA-cam first. But, when it was released on the Switch, I played it for myself. The Ghirahim fight was fun, and harder than it looked. Especially your very first times trying. I couldn't even get one hit on him. You have to really precisely fight him. Just spamming the attack button won't work.
I had hope to see Zant because he's my favorite boss. With all the different stages based on the dungeons where you have to use the main item you got from the dungeon and of course his reaction every time he gets hit (Falling down on his head, jumping on water, tries to swim away from you, etc) I laughed through the whole fight 😄
Mothula in Link to the Past - checking your magic level while using the fire rod + avoiding the attacks + moving arena + dodging the spikes. Great boss!! Ghirahim last battle was awesome as well, Volvagia's battle was epic, Helmaroc's King in Wind Waker.
I don't know why Monk Maz Koshia was so hard for me. Me, 2 of my friends (who have both beat Monk Maz Koshia), and my sister all tried and failed then I tried again and succeeded. It was a wild ride.
bellem from hour glass was fantastic! three phase fight where you first fight in a big arena, then chase him down by ship, and finally fight him as he clings and zombifies a friend youve been traveling with all this time in a ship wreck using the hidden power of your fairy companion, it was amazing!
I would really change the monk for demise at number 1, the fight against demise is easy but surely is epic as hell, also, girahin is cool fighting in skyward sword
I think the Leviathan from Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword was cleverly put together because of the fact that the dungeon takes place on a pirate ship. When you finally reach the boss, the ship will be under attack and you have to reach the deck which then will allow you to battle the Leviathan.
The Oracle games need some love. True, there were fights that somewhat mimicked previous releases (the Zelda1-esque bosses and even Mothula come to mind), but a highlight is the Smog battle in d5 of ages. All you need is a sword and the cane of Somaria. The goal is to put the pieces of Smog back together, with some help from the Somaria block to take advantage of the layout, and then swing your sword at a complete Smog. Smog had four phases, each with a different block layout. Shoutouts to Onox and Veran, and yes, even Twinrova themselves in a linked game (their fight has some resemblances to, but is still distinct enough from, the Ocarina fight in the Spirit Temple, thanks mainly to the nature of the mystical seeds you have access to, via either slingshot or seed shooter) but then they end up sacrificing themselves instead of Zelda and the result is mindless Ganon.
I consider that there is no bad Zelda boss, but I'd say the one inside the great deku tree in ocarina of time is spot on as a tutorial boss and literally shows you how to fight bosses
My fav is Stallord. Something about the simplicity yet satisfaction. It’s fun and well done. I have not played breath of the wild yet though. Don’t have a switch sad face
One of the only Zelda 'top' videos I thought was pretty accurate. Usually it's really popular to over hype anything about Majora's Mask, it seems to be the cool game to tell everyone you love and why it's the best game ever. Twilight Princess is usually underrated almost always despite it's amazing bosses battles! You even went Skyward Sword!!! You got it right here.
I like Majora's Mask that is a final boss in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask evolves into Majora's Incarnation and Majora's Incarnation evolves into Majora's Wrath.
i love Ganon from A Link to the Past, he’s a challenging boss that keeps you on your toes, especially Phase 4 when you have to light the torches without falling
That DLC monk in BOTW was a pain in the ass. Fight lasted so long all my divine beasts boosts had time to fully recharge. Honestly Ganon was a cakewalk. The camel divine beast boss was harder than him.
The monk battle in botw got me so worked up. I wanted to throw my control at the tv, curse at the creators for designing the boss, reach through the tv and strangle the monk and basically loose my cool. It took me at least two dozen attempts to defeat the monk. Eventually I recognized a pattern during the fight and used that plus a lot of patience to my advantage. They may have made the monk super hard to beat, but man was the sense of accomplishment and finally defeating him super satisfying!
I really like the Wind Waker Ganon fight, not so much in terms of the fight itself, but the context. The king showing up, crushing Ganon’s last hope at victory, HIS INSANE LAUGH, the music, and the ocean falling down around them, it’s very epic.
This video was obviously made before Tears of the Kingdom. If that game was on here, I'd say the Wind Temple fight with Colgera is the most fun but Queen Gibdo in the Depths is the best so far. I haven't fought Ganondorf yet but rematching Queen Gibdo in the Depths after finishing the Lightning Temple is so engaging due to the health increase. Switching between fire/lightning elements back to a weapon that deals a lot of damage in the first half. Then at the halfway point, endless swarms of Gibdos and Moth Gibdos charge at you while Queen Gibdo blasts a beam at you until you destroy the 4 Gibdo Hives. Then in the final phase, Queen Gibdo spins multiple tornadoes at you to prevent your arrows from hitting her. She moves quickly so you have to have a decent amount of stamina to keep up with her. Using a two-handed weapon against her makes it difficult to stun her after breaking her Gibdo invincibility with fire/lightning. Then you switch to a one-handed weapon to hit her multiple times in a row so she gets stunned. You're constantly switching things up to try and find what works the best all while trying to keep up with her movements and attacks. It provides a challenge while also teaching the player to switch things up if they want to succeed unlike the other fights before it. It's so much better than the Depths rematches with the easy Marbled Gohma and the annoying Mucktorok.
My favorite boss to face in the Legend Of Zelda series, is the Stone Tower Temple boss Giant Masked Insect Twinmold in Majora's Mask, it's the only boss room in the game that lets you use the Giant's Mask, it makes you grow real big to help you fight against Twinmold, the Giant's Mask makes the fight against Twinmold a very cool Boss Fight 🗡️
Ngl my all time fav boss is pumpkin head from ooa and yes hes incredibly easy puts up no fight and just wanders around aimlessly but I've always loved him lol for sentimental reasons he's my favorite
To be fair, its really not designed to be an epic boss battle game . If anything, botw made boss battles more of a menial box you had to check to get to a relatively good cut scene . And that game is regarded as being a masterpiece, even though it's entire plot line requires you to believe the sheikah, the most technologically advanced race on the planet, knew ganon would inevitably gain control of the machines they made and they would lose, casting the world into 100 years of darkness . But if they hid life size puzzles underground for a coma patient, then obviously light would triumph eventually .
The Nightmares from Link's Awakening will always be one of my top bosses as their taking the form of enemies from Link's memories and also having an awesome battle theme (the gameboy had great tunes) made it very memorable.
Twilight Princess has the coolest bosses and music. They are pretty easy tbh, however and currently playing it on hero mode with Ganondorf Amiibo. 4x damage
My favourite boss gotta be Zant. I love him has a character but his multiple phases complete with the music just did so much for me and I wish I could fight him nonstop Lmao
Am I the only one who never thought Maz Kosha was hard? Like, the battle was fun and unique, just not difficult. By the point you fight him you have fairly upgraded defenses with your health and armor, and you have Mipha’s grace+, which charged so fast that he couldn’t do enough damage to keep up with it. That being said, on my master mode file I ended up running out of weapons so the end of the fight was me using bombs waiting for the master sword to recharge
Let's not forget in the last fight with Ganondorf in Twilight Princess when you can throw your fishing pole and confuse him anyway I like the fight with molgera in the Wind Waker that was a pretty challenging boss fight what I also like about the dungeon boss is that it looks similar to a graboid from the Tremors series
I feel like people underestimate or overestimate thunderblight ganon. It is extremely fast and utilizes lightning strikes in more ways than one. By far, it is one of the best non dlcs bis fights from botw.
I'm actually really surprised at the opening selection, that boss was incredibly easy as LttP allows you to constantly spam attacks. Once the mask is off just grab the bow and drop that fool in seconds.
Thunderblight Ganon in BOTW is tough, sometimes I wonder if he’s tougher than calamity ganon….. Also, the puppet ganon fight in windwaker is insane and definitely a little harder than actual ganon
It's just a shame that with all that build-up and meta-satisfaction Ganondorf's final phase is so easy even without the fishing rod. Aside from his jump attack and having more stamina he might as well be a glorified Ironknuckle. A true sword battle would test all your special sword skills, but they're optional. The solution would be to have him change his tactics depending on which skills you've learned.

Twilight Princess has the best boss fights. Not exactly the most difficult, just the most fun and/or cool.

I feel like people underestimate or overestimate thunderblight ganon. It is extremely fast and utilizes lightning strikes in more ways than one. By far, it is one of the best non dlcs bis fights from botw.
Twilight Princess Ganondorf fight is my favorite.
I prolonged sum of the fights in TP just for dramatic purposes lbs
I'm actually really surprised at the opening selection, that boss was incredibly easy as LttP allows you to constantly spam attacks. Once the mask is off just grab the bow and drop that fool in seconds.
Zant was great. He should be here.
One that was not on the list but i found fun and challenging is lightning blight gannon (sorry if i spelt it wrong )
I am surprised you didn’t add clamity Ganon sorry if I spelled his name wrong but that is an awesome boss
I think some phantom hourglass bosses are good enough to be in this top
I personally loved fighting Phantom Ganon from windwaker
Thunderblight Ganon in BOTW is tough, sometimes I wonder if he’s tougher than calamity ganon…..
Also, the puppet ganon fight in windwaker is insane and definitely a little harder than actual ganon
100%. Calamity Ganon was a joke of a final boss
Imagine if they brought back Stallord in the flesh
I think Thunder blight gannon is worthy of challenging Zelda bosses.
Fun fact for goht you can actually just use bow and don’t even have to go goron for it
I hated Goht so much lol. It's not a particularly hard fight but I was always just bad at the rolling Goron mechanic.
ALttP Ganon is my favorite. Don't like the way he explodes at the end like any other boss though.
The Monk Makosh in master mode is really difficult
