I have a little trivia in response to some of your speculation/musing/etc- Kh1 has “tee-dus” and KH2 has “tye-dus” so I’m not sure if even the localizers actually know, in that case. I’ve also heard that the issue with the fire temple music is that the specific prayer in question is practiced, in real life, in such a way where the inclusion of music would be quite offensive. I could be wrong, but it’s unsurprising Nintendo wants to completely avoid even the chance of inviting controversy about religion… As far as I know, the reason the forest temple section of ganon’s castle is wind themed (and water temple is ice themed) is because those were originally going to be the themes of their respective temples. Content got cut/changed so they kept some of those puzzles in the final dungeon. This is also hinted at in the medallion designs- water is a snow crystal, forest is fan blades. One final change from the original release is that ganondorf’s blood got changed from red to green, probably to comply with some of the European content restrictions that are pretty common. Loving this video and shocked you don’t have more subs??? I just found this channel. Great stuff, I’ll be bingeing the rest of your vids too!
It goes to show that there's a lot to learn out there. I had no idea the chant itself was potentially a practiced chant, I only thought it was similar which does paint it in quite a different light. I do recall seeing something about the Forest Temple originally having wind themes to it, I agree the medallion looks a lot more like wind than anything forest related. And as for Ganondorf's blood, I completely forgot they changed it to green since SoH has a toggle to change it back (which I had on). Really appreciate the input, one thing I actually didn't include in the video was the Space World beta that got recreated online and a ton of concepts in there that just didn't make it in. Between that and Ura Zelda, hopefully one day we can get Ocarina of Time in its fully realized vision! Even if a lot of those ideas did get utilized in other games.
I have about dozen or more nitpicks with your analysis but for the vast majority I agree with your criticisms. Gold skulls are like the korok seeds, if you offer a real reward that would encourage people to slog through it.
I'm still working on making sure my points are articulated better in my videos, but I very much agree with you. One of the things I'm working on with actual critiques of something is having a potential solution with it so it gets across better that I'm not just complaining about something to complain about it.
Looks like I ain’t doing anything for 2 hours
Love your channel - keep making videos, you’re gonna be huge in a year if you don’t stop
I cant believe you dont have more views!!!! Great work, you're gonna blow up soon, if you don't I'll eat my hat
