U r right Kyree. She's fourteen, and at that age who can stand up to a director and tell him/her what she wants to dance?" Let's see what she does at YAGP 2010. The classicals are limited, but the contemporaries are wide open. I heard rumors that we should look out for her contemporary. We'll see a different side of Michaela.
This young woman has overcome a lot to be where she is today. She also had an option to attend the American Ballet Theater and chose to go to DTH. Her technique may not be perfect as yet but she will get there one day. God Bless her.
Look at Maria Alexandrova at 16: Gamzatti Solo on You Tube. You'll see that this is essentially the same variation. Alexandrova's has two fewer developees and two more grand jetes. These girls do not choreograph their own variations. They dance what they are told to dance and how they are told to dance. I very much doubt that this dancer's ego was wrapped up in her extension. It's much easier to massage an ego with a user name.
@jaybrose well you see-just maybe you would choose a variation that showcases your main talents. shes good at extensions, so itd be a good idea to show em off with variations that have them. if youve got it, flaunt it. and its not like she choreographed them either. shes being told to dance that way and those are the steps. also, its easy and clear to see that she does other things well. she has tremendous turns, leaps, and control as well. oh, not to mention that you should learn how to spell.
@cutiealicia16 actually \the same thing....but i am so busy working on myself that i don't have time to put anyone else down.... good day...and keep dancing.
And I just won 1 million at the lottery and I am related to the Queen of England...you see behind screens we can be anything and anyone. If you had so many reasons to rejoice ( Ballet scholarship and all) why are you so bitter and critical? You should be happy and positive. I'm sure Michaela has many things you lack (if you indeed are a ballerina hehehe) so why not acknowledge it and learn...how to be nice...for a change!
Michaela I love you and I think you are fierce!!! Can't wait to see you! BTW this is amazing!!!
WOW!! very talented!

Just like you dear...we are all "no ones"...grow up!
Artistry is first of all a state of mind and then transpires in one's means and ways of expressing it.
You obviously have NONE.
