Behind-the-scenes with teen ballerina Michaela DePrince on the set of her Teen Vogue shoot - Розваги
She's not overrated at all . She is a beautiful ballerina , and extremely talented . If you can't overlook the effort she's put into it and the outcome, then youre looking at nothing. She has stage presents , which many do not have and struggle to get . Let that settle for a minute .
She has this natural grace when she does her high jumps
She literally floats on air compared to the other dancers like I love her so much!!!
She's incredible
Those red pointes are gorgeousss!!
I saw the documentary on her and her story the other week...touched me dearly...my 5 yr old has to write a report for Black History month and she LOVES her!! I think we have our winner! ;)
just read her story in Teen Vogue last night and its so inspiring! she's absolutely gorgeous too! that cobalt color looks insane on her haha its awesome
Im so happy that I met her! What a beautiful dancer and person she is!

i love when magazines and stuff put people like her in their things. she is stunning. has an amazing story. a true role model. and omg her leaps are so amazing.
i love how she keeps extending her line after she lets go of the bar at 0:25
I just saw the movie and I can't stop thinking about how badly I want to dance like her! She worked hard and look how far she came, she's beyond talented and I'm determined to do everything I have to until I can look that perfect. Hard work really does pay off!
SHE IS REALLY TALENTED.
As a minority (Mexican represent!) I'm so glad to see she's still pursuing her dreams. :3 I have one of those "awkward" minority builds for ballet, and she's my inspiration to attend class every day. No offense towards any skinny Caucasian, but it can get hard when you're not-so-skinny and built like a square, lol! XD She's really an amazing dancer! (: Truly an amazing role model for any young gal.
I absolutely love Michaela! She's is an amazing dancer. I wish I could be that graceful when I do leaps.
She's so talented, inspiring and simply awesome! I love her ♥
She makes it look so effortless! Her story is truly inspiring. She inspires me to be a better dancer :)
I wish this young talent all the best. It is wonderful to see so much promise and beauty.
lol shes so amazing she makes the rest of her class look bad
What a beautiful young lady. An inspiration.
She's soooooooo good at dancing! It's like she's always performing!
she is absolutely beautiful!
Speechless.....Michaela you're completely incredible! When you dance it comes so naturally it looks magical to watch, seriously stunning!
Keep going with Ballet :D
Such a graceful dance❤ love the pointe shoes
She is stunning! Her dancing is so beautiful.
Her jumps are insane!!!
She is so amazing! I can't wait to see first positiion!
omfg i love her so much
I don't think it matters that she's black. And she is skinny. Lets just focus on what a beautiful dancer she is not her race. Why are people saying "a beautiful black ballerina!" Just say "a beautiful ballerina!" Her race shouldn't shock you that shes a ballerina. Black dancers can dance just as good as anyone Latina and Asian and caucasians as well. Don't say caucasians don't matter. They get told they're too skinny to jump or do anything and they are wonderful and lovely. Treat everyone the same. Don't act like shes different because of her race, shes different because shes a great dancer. Have a nice day to all who said that.
Actually it's because black people aren't picked for ballet usually because they apparently can't dance due to their build.
Black dancers aren't usually Ballerinas because they are built small and thin. We're built differently, but it does have its advantages. We don't fit the stereotypical look for a ballet dancer, so companies don't choose use. Thats why people are acknowledging that a black dancer has gotten far in the ballet world. Because it is a step towards normalizing black dancers in companies
She is a beautiful black ballerina. Get over it and stop being so sensitive lol
It means that we are happy to see a person succeed who does not project an unhealthy expectation on young girls to be extraordinarily thin at any price and that the audience appreciates and accepts Michaela for the beautiful, graceful and intelligent young ballerina that she is. We hope she ushers in a new age, where a ballerina is accepted for her talent despite her race or body type! Here are to all the young women who believe in themselves despite their obvious differences! Go Michaela!
Her leaps are amazing, she looks like she is seriously flying.
I admire her!! She is amazing and healthy. I'm so happy to see a ballerina that doesn't need to be just bones to be talented.
I just keep playing 1.07-1.09 over and over again =D So incredible...
She is a true inspiration !!❤❤❤
the truth be told that black ballerinas where NOT given the opportunity in the history of America to performed in a large theatrefor all the obvious reasons,… and when a country or a person is not ALLOWED TO show case his or her talent! it's a huge problem …and that's the reason why some people are amazed at BLACK BALLERINAS
wow amazing!
oh she's beautiful!
simply amazing... I admire this girl!!!!!
Not kidding here; I danced in a benefit show with her!! She performed 3 variations and after the show we all got to meet and take pics with her. We all shared the same dressing room, and after seeing First Position I was over the moon!!
So beautiful! Love it!

Incredibly inspiring story in the issue :']
This article almost brought me to tears :D
She was the best in that class
I love how Teen Vogue features young people who are ambitious, hardworking and talented :) They are the ones girls should be looking up to, not famous-for-nothing stars like Kim Kardashian. Michaela is gorgeous and I'd love to see more aspiring dancers/athletes/artists featured in Teen Vogue in the future.
Ela é linda e dança muito.. 💓👌✌
aww I remember from first position
wow, she's amazing! I'd also love to see features on young scientists and mathematicians.
WOW!:O' Michaela!:)

good to see a healthy ballerina
1.09 is beautiful!!
Gorgeous elevation!
hey i actually saw her in the magazine!
Beautiful-3
I am a black pointe dancer too, but I am only 15. This still gives me hope.
She was on first position!! :D
Yeah, she was. That's how I recognized her.
me and my best friend are teens who do ballet.... but we suck at it, i wish we could be like her lol
Those jetes. You've got to be shitting me. Is she really real? Amazing.
I only fucose on her dance and the way God has helped her in achieving her dream I really thank God for her she is someone to look up to , this is mine first comment in all the videos I have been watching , thank God for the mom he gave you, the almighty God gave you a sweet mother that will help you build your dream not to kill it and said please child I don't have money to pay for this after adopting you please I can't go for this , she is the best mom ever.
Классно,очень красиво и оригинально!:*
LOVE!!! LOVE IT!!!♥♥♥♥♥ Shut up with the arguing ppl, she's Beautiful!!!!
Oh I'm sorry did I miss something, like the video of you dancing? If she is overrated, I would just like to see the person who is making those comments dance. Feel free to post your videos! :)
not everyone is jealous and insecure. i highly doubt she's projecting her insecurities on others. that's actually pretty rude to assume. Yes, it is wrong to the way people automatically think there's something wrong with a girl if she's really thin. but it doesn't mean she's insecure.
Ballerina girl, swan princess
pause at 1:09 it looks amazin!
true.
Wasn't she featured in the documentary "first position?"
Lol yep
1:09 nice jump shot.
cookingwithdog song!! :D
Ok how about we all act mature and appreciate the dancer in the video. If you don't like her then don't comment.
pause at 1:09
minute waltz by chopin
pointe shoes hurt people. i take lessons and it hurts!
Is that last little bit, the last two sentences, supposed to be about Michaela?
I think she's used as a model for her skills, but probably also because she was featured in the movie First Position, a ballet documentary.
OMG!!!
I wanna be like her ,
It's beautiful ,
~
❤❤👍👍👍😥✌
but i'm 19
:"(
man i was i had the stability to do. smh. i wish i had major talent to this.
How old are u now??
Actually what is really rude is to dismiss ballerinas as unhealthy just because they're slim. And I don't see any reason to make such a snidey comment other than because of jealousy. No, I'm pretty sure that a woman who associates being slim with being unhealthy is insecure about her weight.
I'm also pretty confident that the person who wrote that comment is a woman. And all of the people, or at least the great majority, who gave it a thumbs up too.
And you got tht fact from where?
she was.
if anyone ever says black girls can't dance then they should come and watch this.
