Saw these cats at wilberts in cleveland one summer. Well it might have been winter but the Jackets were smokin hot so it kinda felt like summer in there. The whole room was a bouncin'!
These guys are 100% legit talent. As an unofficial member of the "Note Police"...there is NOT a bad note anywhere. The drummer is especially noted as being right on point. No ego with these guys...they wear masks! Nothing but respect from me. Love it.
TM-jo4wz. Agreed! Straitjackets have had several good drummers over the years, this guy is probably the best of them. Super playing, AND ( just as important but often overlooked) his drums and cymbals sound incredible.
I love these guys music. I put them into my Pandora as a station base and got a ton of great sounds. I love Surf Music, which is how I first found them, but basing a station on them is even better than the Surf Music one. I'd love to see them live.
I knew Eddie Angel back in the day!! He use to play with Tex Rubinowitz and The Bay Boys a DC area Rockabilly Band. The third set of the night Tex would get off stage and it would be a jam. Other local musicians would set in. If my band didn't have a gig I go out to see Tex and end up setting on bass for Johnny Castle. I haven't see Eddie in about 36 years. The Bad Boys were a GREAT Band!!
These guys are amazing at what they do, however, I can’t imagine sitting through more than about 10 or 15 minutes of this. Spies Who Surf out of Chicago in the early 90’s did this kinda stuff a lot better by giving it more variety and adding elements of jazz and 60’s lounge music.
@@stratdoc Yeah, the Eddie the Chief Clearwater album where they were the band was pretty good. Deke Dickerson and Reverend Horton Heat.. they all play together. I can happily say I got to see these guys a solid half-dozen times and it was epic. And I've seen them recently. Eddie's phrasing on Close to Champaign is top of the heap. Jimmy Webb on drums for Sing Sing Sing live with the Pontani Sisters at XMAS was another great show.
@@stratdoc Don't think Di Pinto Guitars are a knock off, shure they look Fenderish, like a bunch of other more known brands. Just Di PInto is not main stream.
So the point is that it’s part of their act. Watch all their videos. 100 times better than the crap that’s played on the radio over the last 20 years. Hope that helps.
One of the best bands on the planet. I hope los straightjackets will be playing in heaven when I cross the veil

Just discovered these guys. The best music I've heard in 15-20 yrs

They're not showing there faces because it's the Ventures reincarnated, these guys are really good, thumbs up.
They are so good. Drums are great.

??Donde esta Teen Beat y Daddy-O????
Is "Daryl's House Club" perhaps a place for palliative care?
WHY IS THERE NO DANCE FLOOR ? ? ?
Wrestling Fans Should Love Them Should Like The Shadows
The Shads are Go!
They can cover the surfing instrumentals better than the originals.
Why ? BECAUSE
Poseur audience!
Bring that shit to Austin
the audience are dead
no one fuckin move for a dance? holyhell
no room, its tight there. when daryl bought it (used to b the towne crier) he added more tables near the stage area
So sad this venue doesn't allow dancing.. you can't just sit and listen to them.
why masks?
Why not?
Visual / gimmick / focus on the playing . For the good
KISS wore makeup - not so good
Also right around the time of the advent of Surf mexican wrass-lin' was big.luca brazzi used to wear one in the ring.
why?
Broaden your horizons.
These guys deliver a great show playing straight into a deluxe with no pedals and a knock off guitar..Nick Lowe tours with them!
Go listen to their music, you'll know why

The music is ok, but the masks seem kinda stupid????? Maybe I'm missing the point..
I concur, you're missing the point.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH OK , what is the point??

The point is on your head
The music is not ok at all. It is fantastic!
