When a performance gives chills up the spine, you know the performer is Truly Testifying. Been following her for a few years, and I have always witnessed nothing but absolute perfection of the Craft.
This arrangement is much better than the original one on the wild heart album. Her improvement since that album is mind boggling, especially her vocals. I could always see her brilliance as a blues rock guitarist. She's kinda a throwback. She has such a great feel for the blues rock sound we heard in the 60's and 70's. Not many artists can capture that anymore. Her stage presence has also improved drastically, learning from icons like Mike Zito and Tab Benoit. I can listen to her all damn day. She has become that great of a performer, and let's not forget she's also a great song writer. She wrote this one, and it's brilliant.

If Jimi had lived and without the drugs or psychedelia I think he and Sam could have a heart to heart. But your references to Zito and Benoit are right on. I would say she is lucky to have friends like that. And God Bless GoGo and everybody else she plays with.
Today's mainstream music, especially pop music doesn't even use real instruments. They use computer software that has programmed instruments instead of real instruments and the vocals are so heavily autotuned that for myself it sounds way too robotic and not even human. But so many people, especially with the younger generation autotune and programmed computer software music mixing is their norm and they are programmed to think that this is actual real instruments and real vocals. Samantha Fish is such a welcome relief for myself with her staying with the traditional old school of music with real instruments for her studio recordings and keeping it real on the vocals as well in the studio. Hell even many of today's current pop artists are fake live with background music instead of people playing real instruments with the vocals also using autotune in live shows as well.

She really showed her singing chops..and one thing I'll never forget was a person near us saying "damn..she ROCKS!"

Wow great performance. The writing, the voice and the guitar playing, she is the real package deal. Sounds like Janis Joplin and plays like Hendrix or SRV. The best out there.
