just because he is a student of the game doesn't mean he will enjoy coaching or be a good coach. it isn't the same. most all football coaches i have interacted with are just power hungry bullies who like bossing people around. very little about coaching is 'being a student of the game'. go to a football practice for high school and watch it, it is like law students who graduate then realize that being a laywer isn't like the movies. Nick Saban wins in college because he recruits so well, give him Vanderbilt talent and how will he do?
i grew up a dolphin fan and all i can remember was this guy was literally involved in every play defensively. not the biggest lb but he made up for it with his hustle, relentlessness and IQ
I have been a Dolphin fan all 52 years of my life, and if I had to pick one Dolphin player who epitomized the heart and soul of what it is to be a Dolphin... without a doubt it is Zach Thomas!
Grew up watching this guy ruin many offenses days. I was eleven during the Tennessee game and will remember that forever. This is well deserved. One of the best I’ve ever seen. Played MLB because of Zach
Zach is the best! I'm so happy for him to get this honour - one, he absolutely deserves. He's the reason I started to love the Dolphins, the reason I love the MLB position (no one like him anymore) , and the reason I wear 54 on my personal jersey. Sending love from small town Canada - we love you way up here too Zach! Congratulations!
For 5 feet 11 inches tall, Zach was a total BEAST! Very intelligent and very strong! Best football awareness I have ever seen in a LB. On every down, where ever the ball was or where ever the ball was going to, Zach was there ready to make a play. Should have been put in the Hall of Fame years ago. Congrats Zach Attack!! PHINS UP!!!
Zach, you're a class act! I've been a dolphin fan my whole life. I had the pleasure of meeting you in North Carolina while on vacation. You are such a down-to-earth individual and easy to talk to. So happy to see you finally get in !! Well deserved and way overdue!
Zach was absolutely amazing. One of my all time favorite Dolphins!!!!! Still to this day go to the stadium and you will still see his Jersey worn by us fans. Was a blessing to have Zach wearing dolphins colors!!!! Hall of Fame more than well deserved
54 and 99, GOATS to me. Couldn’t be happier to now see both in Canton. And to hear him compare his line back in the day to todays Dline is exciting. Congratulations 54 on an incredible career.
Anyone recall the play Zach made against the Steelers in Miami when Zach hit the A gap and hit Jerome Bettis backwards? bettis was one big running back that was hard to tackle to begin with and zach hit him so hard he fell backwards for like a 2 or 3 yard lost, what a great player Zach was, blessed to see him play all those years
Finally he got what he deserved the most undervalued LB, but Glad that we had you in Miami all those years and for giving us all those wonderful moments. Enjoy that Jacket Z. Thomas cause you earned it 🎊 🎉
Way to go Zack I’m a big dolphin fan boarded Ray’s there. I went to one of the games back at Joe Robbie. Yes that means I’m old you’re awesome I got one of your jerseys man kick ass.
He was an absolute beast at LB. Back when football was football…he made some great tackles and laid some people out! Congratulations on being inducted in to the Hall of Fame! Great career 💪🏻💪🏻
He's my boy. I looooved watching Zach play. I wish Dan (as much as he is my most beloved QB of all time) would have retired and then have Jimmy step in to make a complete rebuild I think we could have won a superbowl. Man that defence was stacked. They were exciting to watch. I am stoked for this coming season. My Montreal Canadiens have a ton of young talent and are looking so good. If they could both win their respective championships within a couple of years of each other, I would die a happy sports fan. GHG Go 'Phins
I wish we had more players proud to be Dolphins... It's been so long with losing records, not making the playoff, we need to turn this around and go to the playoff every year and be contenders again.
We love ya Zach...thank you for bringing us such great seasons of excitement...Congratulations on now being a Class of '23.....that's right.... MLB Zach Thomas HALL OF FAMER!!
I saw him play in Mexico City in 1997. Back then, they broadcasted about 4 or 5 Miami Dolphins games per season, so nobody knew him that well, but I remember myself thinking: Wow! That 54 plays really good! He went out of the game somewhen during the second quarter, due to an injury and was carted out. Fortunately, it was nothing serious. I also remember how I thought it was going to be quite a loss if he were hurt bad. We have not had an equal linebacker since ZT54. After Marino, he was my favorite player.
Zach Thomas and MIAMI DOLPHINS are one in the same. This organization was built on greatness by Don Shula. Zach carried the torch every single week he was a player for us. Thank you, Zach Thomas. Congratulations on NFL and Dolphins immortality.
Zach you was awesome and watching you play with our defense was fun. Congratulations for FINALLY getting to the Hall of Fame. Please make more of these videos.
I have been a Dolphins fan since Shula's first press conference and so have seen all the Dolphin's greats. to my eyes Zach is right up there with John Offerdahl and AJ Duhe as the best Dolphins linebackers and the best one on one tacklers with Offerdahl and Jake Scott.
Zack if you ever read this thank you. You were my inspiration to walk on at FIU after never playing a down in high school. You have no idea of what kind of impact you had on us.
I wish this guy was more involved with current team!! He’s a Dolphin Legend!! Zack, you’re one humble dude, ok maybe Taylor was more talented, so what, you sir were the better fball player!! Congrats, long overdue, you’re 1st ballot in my opinion. #54
Zach Thomas Only defensive player to be around the ball as much as the QB and center. It seems like every freaking play he was in the mix. From sweeps to 50 yard bombs, Zach was there, making the takle or second on scene. Just so much hustle....
I have Zach on my top 10 favorite players of all time. They mostly showed interceptions here. But Thats not what Zach was known for. He was known for knocking the hell out of people.
He needs to be hired by the Dolphins to be a linebackers coach. The man is a student of the game, and would give linebackers on the team such an edge.
I would love to see that because he's my favorite player ever, but he has said that he isn't interested in coaching. He is a really good family man.

Singletary was an awesome player but terrible in coaching
Yes
Only thing that's time away from family.
i grew up a dolphin fan and all i can remember was this guy was literally involved in every play defensively. not the biggest lb but he made up for it with his hustle, relentlessness and IQ
Here's to hoping this video has a billion views.
Zach will always get my vote!
My mother was buried in her Zach jersey. Definitely her favorite player. Congratulations sir, so happy for you.
Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor were my favorite Dolphins players growing up. I love to see this!
Wish they could of got a ring 😢 just had some bad luck
I have been a Dolphin fan all 52 years of my life, and if I had to pick one Dolphin player who epitomized the heart and soul of what it is to be a Dolphin... without a doubt it is Zach Thomas!
Dolphins fan since 1970. Zach is one of my all-time favorites. Well-deserved HOF inductee.
This was great. Finally Zach is getting the respect he should have gotten years ago. Congratulations Zach.

Fins up!
Cant wait to hear his speech on Saturday for the Hall of Fame!
Was looking for that hit on Jerome Betts, now that was iconic! I'm happy for Zach. That 96 Dolphins Defense was one of the best ever!
Pure stud! We need more like him!
Best
He was an absolute beast at LB. Back when football was football…he made some great tackles and laid some people out! Congratulations on being inducted in to the Hall of Fame! Great career 💪🏻💪🏻
Man, I miss watching Zach Thomas play. Thank you for this, and so proud of Zach to FINALLY get inducted to the HOF and represent the Miami Dolphins.
Legend!!! Arguably the greatest underdog story in sports history.

Man looks like he could play Sunday
I wish we had more players proud to be Dolphins... It's been so long with losing records, not making the playoff, we need to turn this around and go to the playoff every year and be contenders again.
Loved watching you play, Zach. So humble, it's unreal. And hearing him say our D-line now is similar to how it was back then? That gets me jazzed up!
Way to go 54 mr Zach Thomas big fan I have your jersey great job
Love Zach breaking down plays.
We love ya Zach...thank you for bringing us such great seasons of excitement...Congratulations on now being a Class of '23.....that's right.... MLB Zach Thomas HALL OF FAMER!!
One of my favorite players of all time! I had his jersey in the 90s.
I’m here for all the ZT content 🔥

The epitome of West Texas tough and Raider power! Congratulations on all you’ve accomplished!
Love Zach. He looks like he could still suit up.
There's just certain few who have it and Zach is one of them. I knew he was going to be something special when I saw him play in college.
So happy this man is finally in Canton
What a beast
Yall remember when he would call out the other team's plays pre-snap??
Zack if you ever read this thank you. You were my inspiration to walk on at FIU after never playing a down in high school. You have no idea of what kind of impact you had on us.
That’s my DAWG right there 🐬🐬🐬
Love you Zach!!❤
My favorite linebacker
Respect. He gives credit to others before himself. It was a honor to watch him play.
Thankful, greatful & blessed
A JOY TO WATCH! 👍🤟✌️
Congrats Zach !!
I wish this guy was more involved with current team!! He’s a Dolphin Legend!!

Why am I such a huge Zach Thomas fan?
Growing up in Miami in the 90's i wanted to be like Zach
He was the best
Legendary 🐬✊🏾👑
I'm surprised the goal line stand versus the Bears wasn't here. Zach was absolutely crucial on that.
I have Zach on my top 10 favorite players of all time. They mostly showed interceptions here. But Thats not what Zach was known for. He was known for knocking the hell out of people.
Who was that New England receiver Zach knocked smooth out?
Ill say it again please coach the LBs zach it feels like you can be a great coach
Zach Thomas ,Ray Lewis 2 of the GREATEST MLB EVER
I almost came when he said "almost like the line we have now"
Missed the “rocked the Bus” play in the Cincy game.
ALRIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!
I don't know the word to use for my feelings & admiration for you past Respect but, that's what I have for you. 🙏🏼
Come on Fins, hire this man to teach defensive greatness.
I remember watching Zach in is first game. Shawn Jefferson was coming around the right side on an end around and ZT absolutely destroyed him.
Guess who my favorite player?🤔 Yup. #54 💯 🐬⬆️🤚🏿
He's still alive?
Lol 😂😂😂
too short too small too slow best football player i ever saw
How many Hall of famers has Jimmy Johnson drafted and developed

I owned you in White Deer !! You know!!
🍊🍊🍊
!!!!!
Why do think he had so many interceptions...you didnt run on ZACK...he was a great middle LB but he would slide left or right and hurt teams.
Taylor Daniel Young Karen Wilson Amy
If you hesitate you get blocked
True football
Best middle linebacker dolphins history
