What's up, everyone and guess what? I just landed a dream gig! I'm heading to Las Vegas to film all the social media content for the 2nd Annual Funk Explosion Festival! This is a huge deal for me and my business partner, and we're gearing up to capture every funky moment.
How We Got Here
Now, some of you might be wondering how a small fry like me landed this opportunity. Well, it all goes back to the power of hustle and great work ethic. Last year, my partner and I filmed a free fundraiser event for the festival organizers, Garrett Management Group. We put our heart and soul into capturing the energy of the performances and the crowd, and let me tell you, they were blown away! They said it was some of the best coverage they'd ever seen. From there, we did a smaller event for them this year, and now here we are, filming the big one!
Gear Up for Funk
To prepare for this funky adventure, I'm packing my entire arsenal of filmmaking tools:
Cameras: My trusty Panasonic S52 and Sony A74 will be capturing stunning visuals throughout the day.
Lenses: I've got a variety of lenses covered, from wide-angle for capturing the entire stage to telephoto for those close-up shots of the performers' expressions. (List specific lenses)
Stabilization: For smooth, shake-free footage, I'll be using my trusty DJI Osmo Mobile gimbal.
Aerial Views: Get ready for some epic drone footage of the festival grounds with my DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
Storage: Plenty of SD cards (enough for 500-900GB of footage) to ensure I don't miss a single funky beat.
Support: Tripods to keep things steady, batteries to power through the day, and power banks for those unexpected moments.
Audio: Capturing crisp sound is key, so I'll be using both the Rode Pro and Rode VideoMicro mics.
Lighting: Whether it's natural light or nighttime performances, I've got my bases covered with the Rode VideoLight 60 LED panel, on-camera flashes for both cameras, and Rotolight video lights.
Bonus Feature: VIP Treatment
This year, I might even be setting up a live feed of the concert to the VIP lounge via wireless HDMI transmitters. Talk about exclusive access!
