Wisdom Teeth Recovery Guide | Advice & Demos

- Hey guys! After your wisdom teeth surgery, here are some useful tips & demonstrations of things you should be prepared for from comfort to eating & drinking, oral hygiene, DIY ice pack holder, and more.*
Additional comment(s):
- Looking back, this wasn’t clear in the video: it is recommended to alternate between using ice packs and taking breaks without them in intervals. Ex: 15-20 minutes using ice packs and then 15-20 min without ice packs before using them again, I found it easier to rotate packs in and out of the freezer to do so after times were up. (Shout out to Anahi for pointing this out!)
If you still have time to get the special ice packs, here are some options:
- Blue: amzn.to/3ahBJkB (with 4 reusable packs)
- Black neoprene: amzn.to/3qglB8h (with 4 reusable packs)
- Blue: amzn.to/3pctOsV (more basic doesn't come with extra packs)

hey guys welcome to another wave of summer wisdom teeth extractions! please be careful and take care of yourselves! Summer’s here but COVID still is out there lurking 👀
Just got mine out 4 days ago and got all 4 out and tbh it wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t take any of the painkillers and just stay with Advil and the amoxicillin and we’re all good not swollen anymore and hopefully the stitches dissolve soon
I got mine out on Monday! All four, some were impacted and infected so it’s been a rough couple of days. But I’m glad to hear you’re doing ok!
i got mine a week ago im finna eat pizaa today
Exile Unknown did you notice any facial changes when you got yours out? Like now that you’ve recovered have you noticed a change in your jaw structure?
Hey! How long did it take for the pain to go away?
People made it seem like the pain would be from the actual surgery but NOOOO ONE warned me about the recovery process. Straight hell 😫
Yes! Same
I am experiencing it now😪😢😥 it's the worst pain ever 😣 My best advice so far is stay on top of your meds💊 after the surgery👌
@@BiggCole114 i had mine two days ago!! It sucks!😭😭😭
I got 4 of mine out yesterday. It feels like hell right now :(
@@Gtafan-hg1ef I got mine out yesterday as well how are you feeling now that it's a few days after?
Just wanted to put this here
Got mine out 2 weeks ago, surgery, fully sedated with an IV, the only pain I had was the prick from the IV, LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE
As soon as I got home from the hospital, I ate ice cream and drank pain meds even before the anesthesia wore off, that way the pain doesn't have a chance to even set in
So tbh, I had absolutely no pain, sure there's discomfort from a swollen face and all yeah, but no pain
So don't be terrified, stay on top of your pain meds and use ice packs regularly
It really isn't that bad, the worst part is just craving foods you can't eat for a few days and sleeping on your back for a few nights, nothing else
Hopefully this eases a few of your minds since I read a few horror stories in this comment section 😂
I agree with you. Idk why people would wait for their numbing to go away. That is a terrible decision. I got one upper impacted wisdom tooth removed. I took my pain medication before my numbing wear off. Always stay consistent with the pain medication and antibiotics. The only discomfort is the stitches and not being able to eat. It wasnt that bad for me also.
I just really hope my next appointment is this easy also. I need to do iv sedated this time to remove my bottom impacted wisdom tooths.
Bro u forget the stiff jaw its painful to attempt to open up my mouth to eat the soup and mashed potatoes i just got my surgery thursday and its hell. Ill admit i was not ontop of my pain meds but sleeping on my back is painful for me and i woke up with half my face looking like a ballon with my upper lip looking like i got botox lol
@@isabelblackwel6190 when did you start eating regular food? I got mine taken out 4 days ago
I did the extraction the same way but everytime I swallow it hurts
Sounds like luxury wisdom teeth removal, y’all must have that spiffy insurance. I didn’t get sedated at all. Not even the gas. Just tons of horrifically painful shots.
Went to my appointment thinking this would be a walk in the park.
Now I'm panicked, with a swollen jaw and binge watching all of these videos. smh.
Same! haha binge watching Wisdom Tooth experiences lol
Same here right now ffs all I want is a cigarette
Same.
Same
o fuck i have a appointment in 20 mins
The stringy blood/spit is so TRUE
Yeah ;)
- Arias yep
horrible I'm feeling it right now. idk when will the bleeding stop
Not for me. I had mine out yesterday, and I have no clue what she’s even talking about.🤷♀️
The worst part is lips are chapped😫😫😫

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday... currently dying.
Alyssa Prosser same and I'm only 14!!
Emilia Keller man I’m getting mine out tomorrow. You people are scaring me lol. I should NOT have read these comments.
sameee
Same over here
Mines was done yesterday...likewise😢😪
I am currently recovering right now. Got mine out about three hours ago. I'm in so much freaking pain! The thing you said about the stringy saliva is so true 😂😂
Hope you're almost done recovering by now & yess no one's brought the saliva part up until now, thought I was alone!
PlantBasedPaula
I had mine take out yesterday
But for some reason nobody in my family has ever had problems including me
I just ignore it
It's not bad
My tip is to swish and spit saltwater after you eat anything in order to clean the leftover food out(helps avoid infection)
I didn't get any prescription medicine and I take about 6 ibuprofen a day to help me ignore it while I eat
This girl had it bad I guess because I had pizza doughnuts and ramen today and the night I had my surgery I was able to eat ramen and a chicken burrito
Also make sure your head is always above your heart especially when your sleeping
Helps with swelling
Idk I can't really relate to the sickness she described
I have just been living my life as usual
Just with more popsicles
Yep got mine out to today too and the blood plus stringy mucus was Gross and I was in pain but couldn’t take the meds without eating with it so I had to wait in pain for the blood saliva to stop so I could eat
Very tru
How bad is the pain...i have my surgery tomorrow and im like mad scared. How long does the pain last?
This is what I love about UA-cam. I don't feel alone with my experiences. Currently recovering from an awake procedure.
This was more helpful than what my dentist told me 😑
yeah.. I didnt get any advice from my dentist after the surgery
Just had mine out today and I had anesthesia and it was so painless! If you can opt for the iv because it's 100% worth it and it feels amazing after 😂 if my expectation of the surgery was a 100 as being bad and scary, the reality was 0.01. The only thing that hurt was the needle in my arm. And I don't even remember when I knocked out- its mind boggling! I also took the advice of my friend and didn't take any pain meds because the side effects were worse than the actual pain which is very minimal. So if you're scared and your getting anesthesia, you have no reason to it's the easiest thing in the world.
makeupandglory
The worst part for me was the laughing gas
Holy crap I with they would have skipped the laughing gas and just put the iv in
It didn't hurt
The laughing gas though made me feel like I was dead
I couldn't even move
iv sedation is a miracle! all i remember was getting the iv in my arm then like 30 seconds (what it felt like) later it was all done no pain or anything. bad thing is its really expensive. insurance covered some of it but i still had to pay $1200
May I ask why you didn't like the laughing gas?
makeupandglory hiya I'm scared shitless .next week I'm in for 2 then another 1 later..I'm doing the IV thing.i keep thinking negative..pls help .is it true with iv you can still hear drilling
I only had the IV-- no laughing gas. I could not hear the drilling. I don't remember anything at all except getting into my moms car after it was over! so dont worry (:
THE best narrative on aftercare I've watched. Thanks for taking the time to do this video!!!
the ice pack holder will save my life, when i get them out this week!! thank you much for this video it was super helpful 💕
I just got mine out this morning and this video was very helpful!! I went under IV Sedation and it was painless. I don't remember actually falling asleep! I was very anxious about this procedure and had put it off because of that for about three years, but I am so glad I went with the IV route! If you are nervous about the actual procedure, I highly suggest it!
Horizontal or vertical?
I just had my wisdom teeth taken out a couple days ago and this vid helped a lot! But I'm so tired of eating soft foods, I've been craving burgers, chips, and ramen like crazy. How long did it take for you to eat normal food again? 😭
i ate ramen my second day lol. but i didnt really chew it, i took small bites of noodles and just swallowed it.
Lol i ate noodles directly afterwards. I cut it into tiny pieces and swallow it😂
Why'd you have to go mention burgers😭 its the day after my wisdom teeth removal, I can hardly open my mouth and now I want a damn burger
MEEEEEE
i ate ramen the day of (aka today 😒)
you're not exaggerating, it really hurts like hell! The pain in my jaw reaches in my ear side up to my head. I just got a fever.
I'm currently recovering on day 2. I went the route of pill sedation that my dentist offered. It turned out to be a complicated surgery because of impacted teeth but everything turned out pretty well. The first day there was much barfing but I got antinausea meds to counteract it and was told to take only half and so far I am keeping down my peanut butter and banana mush. I owe you so much for showing me how to walk as not to upset my stomach. Tonight I may try mac and cheese. Anyway, your video helped prepare me for a lot and to prevent a lot of suffering. Thank you so much!
this is such a good video!! I like how you divided it into multiple parts with different demonstrations, this is great!
Aww thanks! Hope all is well :)
I got all 4 of mine removed 4 hours ago. I haven't taken any pain meds, whatever that gave me to do the surgery is wearing off now and I'm just watching videos. I'm in discomfort but I'm not dying. I'm literally okay.
This was spot on. I would get so dizzy when I would get up and go use the RR I am on day 4 from recovery. Thanks for this video!
The ice holder hack is awesome 😍
I have my teeth removed tomorrow morning. Freaking out! I wanna thank you for this video, it is helping really a lot. Hope I will survive :)
Haha hope it went well, the worst is probably over by this point for you :)
Inna Efremova same I'm so nervous
inna leytis im having mine out tomorrow morning too. I’m still freaking out 😭
Now I'm having mine out tomorrow😧
getting mine out tomorrow too!! sooo nervous
This video was so precious I loved her demonstrations. 💕
I get mine taken out tomorrow morning at 8:30am and pretty much scared about the aftermath.
This video was a great help! I'll head out in a bit for these type of items soon~
I had my surgery yesterday and I came out completely conscious and it wasn't all that painful in my opinion. My cheeks are swollen right now and I have mild discomfort but the painkillers soothed everything down. Hopefully I'll heal in a few days though , been binging these vids all day♡
Thank you for making this video! It's really nice and thoughtful of you to do this, I get mine out in a few days and this helped ease my worries :) and I loved the DIY and the helpful tips on getting up slowly when you feel nauseous
I'm so glad you liked the getting up slowly part!! I cringe whenever I remember I uploaded that haha
I got mine removed today, it was a really quick procedure. I am currently with nausea due to medication but I will try and follow your tips. Thanks for the video!
+Nana Aww being nauseous sucks, good luck on recovering!
The GETTING UP SLOWLY was so important...I would not have known that.
That was awesome to know ...thank you so much .
The ice bag was also very helpful.
Yup, I only wish I realized I needed to get up slower the first time around!
Hope you're healing well :)
Just got one wisdom tooth done and im drooling so much
Today I got my wisdom teeth out. All 4. Wow. Your tips are gonna be great. Especially the ice pack diy
Its not painful so far. And I'm having slight swelling. Other than that. I've been walking around happily
It really isn’t that serious. After surgery, I removed the gauze, at soft foods, popped some pain meds, and relaxed all day. The next day (which is when I’m writing this) I gargled salt water, carefully ate more solid foods and avoided any suction/spitting. I feel no pain whatsoever and am going to work tomorrow. Easiest healing I’ve ever experienced.
Was the post surgery pain bad?
@@brandonjackson8234 not at all
How quick did the swelling go down?
F u man! I’m dying lol
@@ER-wg3oh damn dude lol. You’re dentist must be garbage 🤣🤣🤣
Just got my surgery done. big help. thx
Dry socket. That’s what I’m scared of
Daddy Depression
Me too 😖 I’m so terrified
I had that shit and didn't even know. At first I thought it was just part of the post surgery but realized after a few days, it was def a dry socket. That shit hurts soooo damn bad.
@@Cardenas50zz58 how did you know
@@emarie1655 The pain got worse and worse each day, constant aching pain and throbbing alll day, the pain just radiated alll in my jaw to my ear and my temple, and I could barely open my mouth all the way. It was such a horrible pain that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I wanted to fall to the floor and cry my heart out. I had no clue that there was treatment for it at the time so I just toughened it out for a week.
Thank you for the advice! Just got my wisdoms removed today.. Let the battle begin!
Wish I had watched this Video years ago when my wisdom teeth got removed :D
This is so helpful :)
Just had mine removed, i spent more time getting novicane, and 5 minutes getting all my teeth out. The bra hack is my LIFESAVER right now
OMG I'm obsessed with your vanity in the backround
I'm using a hoodie to hold my ice packs works out well with the adjustable strings that tie at the bottom
I'm so glad they knocked me out when they did my surgery! My sister was awake when they did hers..
Same! Being awake would have been an interesting experience...
Being awake wasn't too bad for me. I was shocked
Where i live they do it wide awak except if you have anxiety than they give you ativan for anxiety and panic attacks
I did mine awake and despite them numbing my gums it hurt bad
Oh my goodness, tips from a fellow Samantha! :D I'm SOOO glad that you posted this; all my wisdom teeth were extracted today and I'm still learning how to survive. I think I'll try that bandeau ice pack diy. Thank you so much!
Yay, no problem!! Love fellow Samantha's on the internet. In real life I'm like... THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE SAM IN THIS ROOM lol :)
Thank you so much for this, your video was a true life saver for me after the surgery! ❤️
Yay, so glad it helped you recover :)
The “death” pills 😂💀 that’s exactly how I felt too
I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth out 2 days ago, so today is technically day 3?? Idk but I’ve never been in this amount of pain, when I woke up. I was given Tylenol and Advil lol, I’m so thankful I didn’t have a bad reaction to any medications, I haven’t been nauseous or any headaches. Eating is extremely difficult, bleeding lasted longer than normal, using tea bags for inflammation, pain, and bleeding on the incision sites helps immensely. Nothing helps the pain. After 48 hours ice won’t really help anymore, I switched to heat and it’s helping. Recovery is way worse than I anticipated lol
You’re so right with what you said 😭 Got them out yesterday face is so swollen and one of the spots hurts so bad lol, and I should’ve watched this before because you’re so right about the saliva part
My wisdom teeth are started to really hurt 😭 so I am gonna have to get them out soon! Thanks for the video!
When I ate noodles, I used my tongue to "chew" it up. It sounds weird but it worked for me
I had pancakes for breakfast like the doctor suggested and I chewed with my tongue too! I just pressed my tongue and the food against the roof of my mouth and swallowed
Just had mine pulled out 2 days ago. And the second day I ate noodles. I would also use my tongue but if it was small pices of noodles I would just swallow it.
just got mine out around 9am this morning i’m feeling pretty good just scared for when the numbing goes away lol i only remember the laughing gas and it felt so good
Thank you so much I got my wisdom teeth out today and this has been very helpful!
I just got my wisdom tooth pulled 7days ago. Thank you so much your video was very helpful.
Day 3 of recovery!
Yo my dudes in Malaysia, the dentists do not make you fall asleep. They immediately jab your jaw with anesthesia and it'll numb it alot but imagine u can feel and see everything happening right infront of you.
zachy FTW in indonesia too
i got mine while numbed and awake and it’s not bad at all! you rly don’t feel it
I'm in America our dentist here is foreign and we are shot in the face a lot then are awake too. I know most people here are put under so I was confused why I wasn't. I felt it so he shot my mouth again. I didn't enjoy the cracking sounds and the pressure. I look like a chipmunk at the moment only on my left side.
I wish I had seen your ice pack DIY before my surgery. The place where I got my wisdom teeth removed suggested that you tie up two ice packs in a pantyhose. My mom tried her best, but your idea looked like it worked a lot better.
I just got my wisdom teeth out four days ago, it’s really not that bad! My advice would be to not take the pain medications and just stick to Advil and Tylenol. I’ve talked to others who have taken the prescribed pain meds and they said it made them feel nauseas, tired and dizzy. Advil and Tylenol do not do that to you and they take the pain away!

I got all 4 mine out yesterday and my jaw hurtsss so bad from the stitches and it’s really painful that it makes my head hurts and I can barely eat anything!!
Klaysic And Destiny what did you do for that? When did you start seeing the recovery progress? Jw, I just got all four of my impacted wisdom teeth out 4 days ago
Jesslynn c how long till you could eat normal food? I’m so hungry for a big burger! Ugh
@@kayleenikole7575 lol seems like most people crave burgers when they cant even eat solid foods
Oh gosh. I'm getting two of my lower wisdom teeth out. My dentist is going to be doing it one at a time. I hope this will make the experience much easier!!!!
I told my dentist I had a phobia with nausea and puking. I haven't puked since I was in elementary and I'm 28-years-old. lol He told me he put nausea medicine in the IV. I'm like you! You are literally a life saver! Even though this was my absolute first time being put to sleep, I made sure I circled that I get the side effect of nausea just in case, also. I decided to use my own Tylenol and ibuprofen, because I didn't trust the medicine they gave me (Tylenol with Codiene). I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out around 12:00pm but the sleepiness didn't wear off until 3:00pm. I got some chunky soup and blended it into a puree and I had some vanilla pudding, too. That kept me pretty full. The pain wasn't bad at all, and my right jaw was a little swollen. 24 hours went by and I'm currently working from home right now.
Honestly I had mine taken out about 12 hours ago and I've been fine! I'm so happy that I don't feel too bad at all
how was it afterwards for you?
I tend to move fast after injuries . broke my foot &fractured another and still worked out and competed daily , running etc . Along with a broken ligament , I started semi running within a week because i can’t stand not doing anything . It’s the way I am. this video helped a lot ! Got my 4 wisdom teeth removed 2 days ago. ):
Ate a burger a few hours later after my surgery. nothing bad happened but think your ideas are better 😅
I get my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow and this was very helpful.
This was a very informative video thanks. I just had mine's removed today and need all the help I can get. By the way after eating, would you recommend rinsing the area with the sea salt and water?
Hoping you're having a quick recovery :) And yes, you should rinse the area with sea salt and water after eating if you can!
I had my wisdom teeth taken out today and surprisingly I remember every after the surgery I remember me driving a non existing car and telling every doctor saying I'm glad u didn't kill me and then I fell straight on my face lol
Great help.
Thank you.
Big ups, glad your okay
Im more scared of the needle and barfing than the actual surgery
Tamara Sorbo me too!! I'm getting it down on Saturday and I'm terrified for the needle. 😂😂
Tamara Sorbo the needle for the anesthesia???
Tamara Sorbo same
Tamara Sorbo im most scared of dry socket
Tamara Sorbo don't be, you can hardly feel it
Getting all 4 of mine pulled in a few hours... Luckily I will be knocked out. I have been dreading this day for several years lol. I’ll tell you all how it went, and updates on the recovery. Very informative video btw!
TheGameWarlock update? I get four of mine pulled tomorrow, if the anxiety doesn’t kill me first 😭
Alicia R I just got mine pulled out today HELP .... it’s so painful :( also my teeth was pulled out 7 tooth in total at one go. Due to 3 extraction
I got three out two days ago and i was awake the whole time... the crunchy sound of your teeth coming out is scary... cant open my mouth rn, eating soft food... the thing she said about spit is real.. its more gross than anything i have ever experienced...
S R how much pain u in rn
Brandon Jackson not much pain, today is fourth day, i was taking painkillers but last night I started having upset stomach.. gonna call the dentist office and ask the doc what to do... swelling is still there...having difficulty brushing teeth... other than that, constant fear of infection and dry socket... :)
I got my wisdom tooth extraction surgery a week ago, all 4 at once.
Terrible pain - True
Can’t eat food for a week - True
Swollen jaws for a week - True
Food gets stuck in sockets for a couple of months - True
Post OP care : Don’t use straw, Don’t smoke, Don’t spit, Don’t skip antibiotics, Ice pack for the first 2 days and then hot pack for a couple of days, Stay hydrated, Take good rest.
After the stitches are removed, irrigate sockets with water after every meal to remove the stuck food particles.
Red alters : If you have unbearable pain even after taking pain meds, it’s highly possible that you have infection, go see your dentist asap.
Observe the surgical site, if the wound doesn’t heal/if you see gaping then contact your dentist.
Caution : Avoid getting other dental procedures done simultaneously along with wisdom tooth extraction (example : getting crowns/root canal or dentures)
DONT wait until your impacted wisdom tooth damages the adjacent tooth and gums, get a routine dental X-ray check when you’re an adolescent and get those problematic tooth out asap.
Conclusion : If you have screwed up wisdom tooth, getting them removed is not a question of “If”but a question of “when”
So my opinion is that it’s better to get it done in your 20s when you have more strength and relatively better pain tolerance rather than in 40s when you would have a ton of responsibilities and other body aches too.
Note : The above information is based on my personal experiences and I’m not a BDS/MDS graduate, So kindly discuss with your dentist and parents before you take any decision.
LOL currently watching this while drooling into a cup. thank you so much for this ♡
I have to get my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow, and I watched a video on how they do it and I've been crying for 4 hours
Brittney Lewis im doing the exact thing right now 💀🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Me too crying ' i go to get mine done at 9 Am I can't sleep ' scared I've been a wake since 5Am .
Heather Bastress honestly, it’s not that bad. atleast it wasn’t for me. i went it, and my heart rate was over 115. your heart rate should be around 70. i was so fucking nervous for what i might say afterwards and the recovery. i also remember them drilling and cracking one of the to get them out. from the adrenaline, i blew right through all the meds. so i was awake the whole time. it didn’t hurt, it was just scary. i had complete control of what i was saying afterwards. my family was really disappointed i didn’t act crazy at all. the pain wasn’t too bad. it was tolerable. and honestly, a 400 mg ibuprofen did more for me than the pain meds they game me. overall, the pain wasn’t too bad. the worst day was the third day. but i started eating normally on the 5 day, other than crunchy stuff. okay, that was a lot of information lol, but don’t be nervous! don’t be like me, and blow through the meds because you’re nervous.
Aahlynn grace I hate all of this '

I got my 4 wisdom teeth remove today .. I just felt shaky while they were pulling out my teeths.. they told me to go on with my life lol to do everything I normally do and I can eat anything I want.. its been a hour since and I feel my upper lip yay 😀
mommy life they said you can eat anything you want? Holy shit i just got mine other Friday and I think I have an infection got fever and pukes and I shook a lot also when they were getting pulled
OMG “party” started and hour or two after your comment I am sure
I also got all 4 wisdom out like last monday
You’re lucky lol I got three (all) of my wisdom teeth removed this past weekend and: I can’t sleep normally, I was nauseous the first day, I can’t open my mouth enough to be able to eat, my face is swollen af and it all sucks. I also kept getting food in the holes and it hurt even more ;-;
Me too
Thank you for this!! I wish I could DIY or buy an ice pack headband but I'm a couple hours away so it's too late for me now since I don't have those things 😭 Really appreciate this video! Love the detail and demos 🙌
I had my wisdom teeth removed this Tuesday gone now I seen your vid it might help me as well thankyou for the advice
Day 2, I feel like 50 cent after he got shot from the movie Get Rich or Die Trying .
I'm on day four and I'm still swollen and in pain. Any tips?
Thank you so much! I have to get my wisdom teeth out on Friday!
Thanks I was needed it 😷
I got my wisdom teeth out this morning, and I was extremely nervous. I was totally freaking out and crying about it (mainly about the needle) and oh my golly haha I was asleep in like 2 seconds not even joking. don't worry about it, because I know you will do fine. I didn't care what anyone said and the 50 youtube videos and tips i've watched haha but I was still freaking out. Now let me tell you, don't be scared. It's honestly not bad at all.
Did u get all four out?
I get it done in 8 hours
I got it out yesterday. This is rough
I got mine taken out yesterday morning 😥
Tea bag is the best things ive ever used for the bleeding. Its so legit
I’m 30 years old and got all 4 wisdom teeth taken out 5 days ago. Mines were tough because I had long roots. It’s not a bad procedure but it’s not a walk in the park either, just make sure you take your pain medication and prepare to not eat hard foods for a while. Also, your mouth will feel weird AF. Other than that you will survive.
I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and I feel fine and fly!
I don’t know what sort of narcotics you were on, but I feel great with only occasional slight aches in my gums.
Let's just say they were the worst narcotics for me, you're so lucky!
Sambarrassed
thank you, but I don’t think that it was luck. It’s because imma tough tranch. My injuries don’t tell me what to do, I tell them what to do.
And I tell them to heal faster.
And heal faster they most certainly did
Thanks so much for posting this! Very informative. I'm actually getting this done soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that FREAKS me OUT!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
Haha it honestly happened so fast when they put me under that I didn't even know what was going on; I have a very vague recollection of what happened but when I came in they set me up in the chair and they might've gave me something to put in my mouth? After that they stuck a needle in one of my arms and I think they started counting. I didn't feel anything besides the needle initially and before I knew it; I was awake again after the surgery happened with a bunch of gauze in my numb mouth and the assistant was asking if I felt ready to go home yet or wait another minute before getting up. I don't think it's possible to fight the general anesthesia (unless they don't give you enough but that WON'T happen since it's their job to know how much to give). No problem!! Good luck on healing x
@@sambarrassed dude stop telling people you'll be asleep for surgery. Such a LIE. GUYS IV SEDATION AND GENERAL ANESTHESIA ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. YOU ARE AWAKE ( PROBABLY NOT AWARE) DURING IV SEDATION AND YOU ARE ASLEEP (UNCONSCIOUS) UNDER GENERAL. general is almost NEVER given for wisdom teeth extraction to normal healthy patients.
John Doe Well they put an IV in my arm and I completely knocked out I had the surgery less thank 5 days ago and I don’t remember knocking out last thing I remember was getting the IV and waking up in a smaller room with my companion. So it seems your the one who is lying

It's been about 30 hours since I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and I'm finally hungry but i don't have any non solid foods🙃 my dad said he'll bring me a burger rn and he saying I should be able to eat it. I'll let y'all know how blended burgers taste in a bit..
LOL so how did the blended burgers go?
Sambarrassed i guess not so good huh 😂 been a while
This was so helpful especially cuz today was the worst day. You are right the pain med was too strong and I was vomiting and I was dizzy so I stopped taking it and went to a lighter medication. I'm not exactly sure how I'm supposed to set up my pillows while I sleep to make it the most comfortable 🙃
Thank you so much it really helped cz i just got mine done ❤️
My doctor didnt tell me any of this. All i got was "watch what you eat and if you smoke, smoke at your own risk."
Did you get dry socket ? Thats my biggest fear i heard that hurts BAD. And how do you prevent it
Currently going through recovery right now, as in my wisdom teeth were still in my mouth like 10 hours ago. 😭 For the ice packs, what I did was I wore a hoodie and stuffed the ice packs on each side of my head in the hoodie and then pulled on the strings to tighten. I’m literally surviving on small cups of this udon soup broth without the noodles and binge watching movies, I’m watching this longing for a better future without a sore mouth. 😅
I had mine taken out on Monday. I've been taking only ibuprofen once a day. I thought it was getting better, but today I was in so much pain. It is is day 5. It only hurts on one side. The bandeau thing was a good idea..wish I saw this video sooner.
Currently on recovery day 5 and it’s the worst pain ever, so much discomfort. Kind of feels like getting braces on for the first time, having a soar mouth overall and having gashes of irritated skin on the sides
I had one taken out.
The only thing that was postive during that experience, b/c I started having an anxiety attack and was shaking after being told I was taking it out, was the dentist stopping in mid sentence to complement my teeth.
So sorry you had an anxiety attack from it, hopefully you won't need to have any more taken out!
Sambarrassed I have to get the other 3 out, which are all impacted and I'd need to be put under for.
Sambarrassed I only got the 1 out due to the gum around it starting to get infected, which I knew about, I was just hit with a tone of bricks when they told me it needed to come out.
I could've told them another time, but I would have rather gotten it done with than wait any longer, plus the infection would just keep coming and going and I'd need to wait months until I got the surgery.
I just got mine out today. It’s just sore no pain. I also could put my retainers in on the first night
I literally just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted about 5 hours ago, I feel like I’m chocking on saliva & blood, I haven’t been able to swallow anything-so no way to take my ibuprofen or pain medication. Thanks for your video ✌️👍
I just got a broken mauler and all my wisdom teeth removed 2day. The biggest pain in the ass for me is not being able to eat solid foods for a week.
