Thanks for that. I have seen so much damage done by WOF people claiming this verse justifies their position that man is saved by incantations and positive t5houghts and positive confessions. This is objective faith in the person of Jesus Christ, not salvation by a power coming from words, that even God submits to. I pray that reasonable, simple gospel voices like this would grow louder, and that non Christian, positive thought power and confession movements would not rob us of souls that must come to Jesus
@@haloed-hero My point is that believing in confession and posetive thinking to save the soul is not a godly activity, and comes from a different source than believing objectively in Jesus Christ and his gosepl. The difference being as night and day

@@haloed-hero O wow, these are good Pastoral questions. As a whole, Christians confess because they believe, we don't confess to believe, this was my point. On your other questions, don't confess a sin you want to do to someone, just don't do it. The other question is a little deeper, . I would steer away from over confession, it may harm someone more than bring life. Hope that helps my friend, maybe seek out the help of a pastor. Also I do appreciate much in the WOF movement,. In Chapters 9-11, Pauls clearly made a pause in his writing to briefly address a necessary topic, 'What about Israel? Has God foresaken or replaced them with the Church?' Paul does so leaving off from a lengthy discourse that included his apostolic calling; the preaching of the good news of God concerning His Son, the flesh man Jesus Christ but was declared with power, the Son of God by being raised from the dead. Discusses Gods wrath revealed against the ungodly, those of the lie of paganism that then forces God to give them up to moral depravity, then argues against the lies of moralism, nomianism and patriarchal Judaism with a series of rhetorical QA refutation that concludes with Gods indictment of all humanitys sin. Then from Chs. 4-8 doctrinal revelations of Gods righteousness thats apart from Law, the consequences of faith in Christ, struggle of the flesh vs the mind or innerman of the believer, and then consequences of salvation. Now in Chs. 9-11 Pauls purpose is to remind his predominately Jewish readers in the church in Rome to understand his personal attitude towards his own countrymen was positive (save some) and that Gods revelation given in Ch 9 is Israels past, present (Ch10) and future restoration (Ch 11). Make no mistake about it, Paul's heart desire was the nation of Israels repentence, especially having rejected their King and Kingdom, they're now in much peril and in deperate need of temporal salvation due to Christ's predicted judgment (circa 70 AD), not to mention the Jewish pogroms creeping up around Rome. Although in lieu of Paul's readership who were already eternally saved, might I suggest these chapters could have served just as well to enrich the Roman believers faith to endure a severe period of persecution that's already begun and will only get worse. Again in consderation of all that's transpired up to this point in Paul day, the fact the Lords prediction of the destruction of Jerusalem was imminent, Jewish pogroms brewing and periods of severe Christian persecution ahead of them. Wouldnt it be more reasonable to suggest Pauls use of salvic terms in Ch 10.9-11 intended his Jewish readers to not only encourage them but also a warning of sorts to remind them of whats ahead for their nation and that persecution of Christians was ramping up all across the Empire and would be getting worse.
Paul states in ch. 11 that he's writing to "you gentiles", to try and "provoke to envy" his countrymen, the jews. Not to predominantly a Jewish church. I used to think that too.
Plus another little argument, why in the New Testament is belief so heavily engrained but if confession is a requirement then why is that not engrained as heavily aswell? Confess in regulars to a salvation sense is only mention twice in Romans 10:9-10 and the call upon the name of the lord verse which bob Wilkins refutes here.
Excellent overview. Am reminded of Lewis S. Chafer’s eight volume “Systematic Theology”. Like this video, a brilliant explanation if this and many other troubling passages. A treasure and a deep study of a Gods word. Sadly, having read many of the Lordship salvation or works righteousness papers, they are so shallow in comparison to those who know the Koine Greek, original Hebrew and those great men like Chafer and here, Wilkins who certainly believe that “ALL scripture is God-breathed and profitable.....”. All means not taking a narrow passage out of context as we see with so many....well meaning but inaccurate men who study and teach the Bible.
Context is important in Ro.10. When Paul refers to the preacher he is revealing that they are preachers who confess with their mouth. The confession profession to another is the exact same of what Isaiah referred to. The beautiful feet of confessions of Christ as The Messiah promised. So professing or confessing is simply share by preaching the good news that the Father raised thru resurrection the life to be paid n shared

+Confess And Believe He does not provide the definition 'saved' means in the Greek translation. Saved and salvation are synonymous. The fact the that this man is preaching you do not have to confess nor repent to be saved, in essence, live your life as you see fit because you are justified and redeemed through the blood of Christ is a false teaching. 2 Chronicles 7:14If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 1 John 1:9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. @@DannyLoyd hearing doesn’t mean audibly. You can hear God’s Word when you read the scriptures. ‘…hearing by THE WORD OF GOD’. where so many believe and teach you have to audibly confess, meaning saying it out loud, or else you are not saved.
Our channel has a video on it that proves you don't have to confess or ask Jesus to save you or pray a sinner's prayer to have eternal life and that the salvation mentioned in Romans 10 is not spiritual salvation.
Then what happened when I confessed and believed in that prayer 40 years ago? Was all that love I felt in my heart from God the Father hypnosis? Even someone who's a mute can easily whisper the confession and be heard, and you receive a "seal" from God when you do it sincerely and you know it He has saved you...regardless of what your fellowship in Melbourne preaches. Try it, unless your pride prevents you, with another who can hear you, and see! God loves you, and Jesus wants to hear you confirm in speech your belief that He is risen.
Emotions and spiritual experiences mean nothing with respect to eternal life. The pentacostals, for example, have all sorts of emotional and spiritual experiences but they are deceived and don't have eternal life because they think they can loose their salvation. 2 Cor 11:14 says, "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." If you add anything to simple faith on the Lord Jesus Christ then you don't have eternal life.
Simple faith, yes... and confession. Like Thomas confessed: "My LORD and my GOD!" when he saw our Jesus' hands, feet and side. Feelings, and emotions must have something to do with it! As Jesus put it: "...where there is weeping and knashing of teeth..." The shortest verse, you know, is "Jesus wept." If those feelings and emotions were felt by our LORD and meant nothing, then not feeling God's love in your heart when he hears you simply and honestly confess that you need Jesus' sacrifice to cover your sins and to be your resurrection and life would mean nothing also! I believe these feelings are available to all, (pentacostals included even if they unknowingly should host kundalini spirits and sometimes use vain or even demonic utterances) and the LORD can turn them away from such by gradual sanctification. My intent is not to argue, but to me the emotional feeling upon salvation was just as important, if not more so, than going to be baptised after. And the evidence of His set-apart Spirit has served as my reason to strive against my own sinning and short-comings and to endure until his return.
Anything that is not by grace through faith (Eph 2:8-9) is a work (Rom 11:6) including requiring confession or an emotional response. Thomas already had eternal life before Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection as is made clear in scriptures like John 13:10 -11 "ye are clean, but not all. For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean." Judas was the only disciple of the 12 who was not clean and did not possess eternal life. Weeping and gnashing of teeth applies to those cast into the lake of fire. Jesus didn't weep to have eternal life. The pentacostals don't have eternal life because they believe you can loose it and are therefore are calling God a liar (1 John 5:10). Therefore the spirit behind all their hyped up emotionalism is certainly not of God. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jer 17:9).
Melbourne Hard Preaching Fellowship Faith IS A RESPONSE. If I tell you I put 10000$ in your mailbox and ,though u desperately need it, YOU DO NOT GO OUT AND GET IT, it proves you don’t believe(trust me). 1. "The work of God is this, to believe..." Surely, for faith is faithfulness to the will of God, the good work of none other then the indwelling Spirit. 2. We are saved the moment we enter into a love relationship with God by a gift that he cannot refuse, as it is something that he cannot create, a gift that only we can create, namely a grateful and contrite heart. 3. When 12 Bible Text claim that we are saved by faith alone, while on the other hand, 40 Bible Text claim that we are chosen only by grace, the only way that we can know the truth is to have the indwelling Holy Spirit that comes after we create a grateful and contrite heart. 4. To except the Bible definition of salvation, when it is comprised of 62 Bible contradictions, let us not be an ingrate so blinded by pride. 5. Saved by faith or chosen by grace, they are two pride inflating concepts that appeal only to pride filled and ego driven ingrates. For how could I keep by humility if I thought that my good thoughts saved me, or that God chose me because he foreknew how wonderful was my inner goodness? 6. Saving myself by faith is not a true love relationship with God, as only I do the choosing. 7. God saving me only by grace, this also is not a true love relationship as only God has the eagerness, only God does the choosing and God must force himself upon us against our will. 8. "We love because he first loved us," now that is a true love affair between a grateful contrite heart and the Creator of life.
jhn 2.23, jn 3.16, 1 Jhn 5.13 has acommon theme, believe in Jesus = has or possesses Jesus (eternal, everlasting life) Recall in Jhn 11 what does Jesus say? I am the resurrection and the life.... and again He emphasizes what? A belief in Him
It pleased God to save them that believe, that's biblical, what you wrote is not biblical because calvinism is GNOSTICISM. if you dont know if christ died for you, you dont have a gospel. you personally cannot show me a verse that proves you are one of the elect. calvinist have pigeon holed themselves.
Choosing is never ever choosing into salvation. Go back and check your texts on choose, chosen. You'll find it is always (of believers) chosen to do something, or those who are already saved to receive something, like blessings or persecution (for sanctificafion) to name a few things. But never chosen to be saved That's calvinism. To say we can't understand which way it is unless we are first saved is sort of like gnostic enlightenment. We know what we know about any biblical subject by what it says. And no, there are no contradictions. The only contradictions are apparent ones. Peace 🙂
To avoid copyright restrictions there is much paraphrasing and dropping of important words in new translations of the Bible; so dealing with thees and thous from the original King James translation from king-commissioned Greek and Latin translators may clarify for you that both confessing and believing in one's heart are both required.
I don't understand yet why anyone makes a distinction between justification and salvation. If we're saying that we are justified before God, doesn't that equate to having eternal life?
Confession in Roman 10:9-10 means profess/announce that Jesus is the only way it doesn't mean going to confess your sins, why would you do that? God knows everything about you. Found Sheep
Becoming justified before God when you had a previous guilty standing is precisely talking about salvation. Romans chapters 1-3 are speaking of why no one can stand before God "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." 3-4 are largely about how we are saved from that sin. " Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Romans 4:6-8 KJV Imputed righteousness. Forgiveness. This is salvation. this is soteriology 101 folks.
I used to have a friend a long, long time ago who claimed to be a big time christian. She smoked weed, got drunk, cussed, "dined and dashed", sex outside of marriage and she did all these things on a continual basis. Yet she claimed to "believe" and be a christian. I hope you answer this question but do you think a person can live like that and really be saved?
Salvation is based on belief not on works. If your friend had believed then yes she can be saved. However, she will suffer consequence of wrath in this life and loss of reward in the kingdom.
What was the object of her faith in? Was she clear it was what Jesus the Christ, the Son of God promised? If so did she understand at that first moment when she believed, that she was certain she possessed what John & Jesus promised in Jhn 2.23, 3.16-18, 1 Jhn 5.9-13? If not let her know and as for her lifestyle of sin, if shes a child of God He'll deal with her not us...all we can do is in love encourage her to turn away from that lifestyle.
so shocked to find you here Steve.... "heaping teachers" do you roll around the internet all day looking for teachers to "justify" you staying "dead in sins" and not "dead to sin"??? pls read romans 6 friend.... pls listen to me friend
Romans 10:9 actually says, "for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Yehovah (Yahuwah, Yahuah) and believe in your heart that God the Father (Yehovah, Yahuah, Yahuwah) raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Doesn't mean to confess him as master or Lord. Look at Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Paul is quoting Joel 2:32 and the word LORD is in all caps which means the name of Father God, Yehovah or Yahuwah or Yahuah or Yahweh. Which ever name you choose to use. Nearly 7000 times the word LORD is used to identify God in the OT and it is the name given by the scribes to YHWH (YHVH), the sacred name of God the Father. Need further proof? Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Php 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Verse 11 should read: and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is (Yehovah, Yahuwah, Yahuah, Yahweh) to the glory of...... Paul is quoting Isaiah: Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Isa 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Again, this is Yehovah talking (YHWH) LORD (all caps) and it is to HIM (Yehovah, Yahuwah, Yahuah, Yahweh) that every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear (confess). Our salvation confession should be something like this: I confess that Jesus is God the son and I believe that God the Father raised Him from the dead. That's all one needs to believe and say for salvation. There is no commandment to make him Lord of one's life or swear obedience to Him or promise to persevere to the end to be saved.

Let me share one final thought from Spurgeon that speaks to us today: “In your own time you yourselves have seen churches flourishing, multiplying, walking in peace and love, but for some reason not known to us, but perceived by the watcher who jealously surveys the churches of God, a root of bitterness has sprung up, divisions have devoured them, heresy has poisoned them, and the place that once gloried in them scarcely knows them now. Existing they may be, but little more; dwindling in numbers, barren of grace, they are rather an encumbrance than power for good. Recollect, then, beloved, that the power of any church for good lies in the presence of God, and that sin in the church may grieve the Lord, so that he may no more frequent her courts, or go forth with her armies. It is a dire calamity for a church when the Lord refuses any longer to bless her work, or reveal himself in her ordinances; then is she driven of the wind hither and thither like a ship derelict and castaway. The Lord may, because of sin, take away his Holy Spirit from a church. The spirit of love may depart, the spirit of prayer may cease, the spirit of zeal and earnestness may remove, and the spirit which converts the souls of men may display his power elsewhere, but not in the once-favored congregation. Let me impress upon you that all this may readily happen if we grieve the Holy Spirit as some churches have done.” I believe this is a good word for us in our 90th anniversary year. It matters not what they say about us in the newspapers, for good or for ill. The plaudits of the world matter not at all compared to the blessing of the Holy Spirit. Let everyone who hears these words take them to heart. Let every Christian search his own heart. The best way not to lose the Holy Spirit in our midst is to watch and pray that it might not happen. Take nothing for granted. And do not live on past blessings or dwell too long on yesterday’s victories. Seek the Lord while he may be found. When the Holy Spirit departs, the church becomes a museum full of spiritual mummies. May we never come to that! Let the whole church lift up the prayer, “Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.” Amen.
@@livingwater7580 Agreed and amen! Social moral excellence seems to be the call of the day, rather than the lifting up of Jesus and of His free grace to all. Praise God for His indescribable GIFT!
This is what I don't like about the Free Grace guys. They're saying Romans 10 isn't necessary for spiritual salvation and repentance(Turning from unbelief to belief, not of sins) is not part of salvation. Believe/Repent/Confess is just one part of the salvation package. Repentance from sins is works, Baptism is works, and not sinning is works. But Asking for salvation is not works. Repentance towards God isn't works. And Faith isn't works as well
its a authority issue ...its submitting to the authority of Jesus Christ ...it centers around the word "Lord" it is master, it is sovereignty ...that is the confession ...that Jesus has authority over us ...pretty simple

This man is a minister of Satan, Sandra - and that is not a charge I make lightly. He proclaims a gutted gospel in which mental assent equals saving faith. True salvation is a miracle of grace wrought in the heart by God - it is always accompanied by a fundamental transformation, from death to life. Do not deceive yourself, Sandra. I understand how appealing the lie can be, but it is damnable. The Word of God is true, and God is not mocked. Those who sow to the flesh will of the flesh reap destruction. Those who believe in Jesus Christ to the saving of the soul will surely overcome the world.
Interesting. And in Joel 2, the Spirit has already been poured out before the calling in verse 32. But could you clarify your last statement when you said, "Romans 10:9 and 10 isn't simply talking about how a person is justified, it's talking about how justified people can be saved from God's wrath.". Aren't justified people already saved from God's wrath because Christ is our propitiation? Or how does the "confession" and "calling upon" apply to Gentiles today in relation to deliverance from God's wrath. Thanks
Bob you match Matthew chapter 13 in the air in the end he will gather all things that offend and that commit inequity and that means the pre-forgiving people who people that believe you are that you're pre-forgiven and apart those opposed to the lordship Salvation
Romans 10:9-10 is about how lost sinners can be saved. Not just go from unbelief to belief, but to go from being unrighteous to being righteous. Two things can be true at once--saved from God's wrath in this life as well as from hell. Romans 10 is a chapter on eternal salvation.
If you are in-christ you call on Jesus through prayer for help. If you are an unbeliever, you can't call on Jesus (pray for help) until you believe on him through the gospel in 1 Cor 15 1-4.
Romans 10 is about salvation from hell, by faith without works and it even includes the word: gospel. You are certainly wrong to say that calling upon the name of the Lord isn't in context with the salvation of the soul. John 4:10 - Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. All believers confess him and call upon the Lord, whether by mouth or in the heart. If you don't, then you don't believe. Jesus said you would ask of him if you believed. Psalm 116:13 - I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. What's the point in imagining a hypothetical person who apparently believes but doesn't confess or call out to God to be saved?
Come-on! What good is it to be justified and if you don't confess to drink God's Wrath? Justification without Salvation in null. Christ is The Christ of All, justification, salvation, sanctification and Glorification.
Romans 10:1-4 In order to understand Romans 10:9-10, it is better if we begin reading in verse 1: “[1] Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. [2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. [4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. CONCLUSION Friends, Romans 10:9-10 was a formula for lost Jews to be saved from Israel’s apostasy during the Acts period. Paul wrote it with Jewish salvation in mind during the transitional period. He did it to provoke lost Israelis to understand and address their spiritual dilemma. Romans 10:9-10 has nothing to do with us Gentiles or members of the Body of Christ. There are religious people who do not like that previous sentence, but that is fine. I would rather believe my Bible than them or their denomination any day! You, friend?
Did you know that Heaven is a free gift from God? Billions of people go to bed every night wondering if they have been “good enough” to go to heaven. There is no need to live in fear and doubt. Jesus taught that you can “know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” There are many passages in the Bible that teach the truth about Heaven being a free gift from God because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, not by our own good works. One of the most clear and important passages is from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians: Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Most people think that Heaven is a riddle which can never be solved. This is not true! The Bible is very clear about how you get to Heaven, and how it comes by faith in Jesus Christ, not by trusting in our own good works. We are living in the dispensation of the grace of God, by believing and trusting the gospel of salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) given to our Apostle Paul by Jesus Christ you are saved and sealed with the holy Spirit of promise till the day of redemption!!! Ephesians 1:13 - King James Version 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Romans 2:16 - King James Version 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. We are all born in salvation , we all know between right and wrong , how to treat creation and all beings , intelligence also intersects with faith , too much confusion and many disorientated twists of scripture , to be saved in salvation is not a riddle , to have to be a scholar in theology to understand , It is crying shame for Jesus's teachings to be misunderstood , this has been done by design , and scripture changed to suit certain powers for control and manipulation , Jesus's teachings is to find one self and to lead a life of truth , this is the only way , you cannot lead a life of hypocrisy , this is very hard to achieve in western society , with so much interference everywhere , virtually impossible to seek and find enlightenment , and keep your frequency at such a high vibration , this is also done by design , this will have major implications not only for western culture and society but the world over all , human health and well being will fall at a rapid rate , which becomes a reflection on our habit / enviroment , so then this will reflect into the skies above , if you do not keep balance God will destroy . So, basically, you're saying that ONCE you're justified, by confessing your heart about Jesus only THEN are you saved. Incorrect. The Father would not, in all His great heavenly wisdom, force us to BE PERFECT via repentance (I assume (1) that repentance is your means towards justification in the first place, and (2) that bearing 'good fruits' through repentance as a means to be justified is simply a convoluted form of good works) BEFORE we can be saved by His Son. Your good fruits are made for all to see THROUGH your FAITH in our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, by making the commitment inside yourself that you HATE your sin, that you ABHOR all of the wrongdoings you force upon the Father and thereby upon his Son's suffering, that only THEN is your FAITH made manifest to all and, most importantly, to the Lord. So by turning away from Sin, though you may stumble (and, let's be honest, you WILL stumble), the Lord will be there to catch you. Just confess who your Lord is to all, have faith in His everlasting name, and be ye saved. Your solution to be justified prior to faith, or in a more accurate paraphrasing, to be justified before you confess with your mouth and thus with your heart made righteous in Christ, is a non-biblical point of view REGARDLESS of the context of the letter which WE KNOW was a compendium of Paul's thoughts bundled up into one (which therefore means the Holy Spirit meant more than just what was being obviously stated to the receiver of the letter at hand).
yes, it can take a while..if not years..to finally lay a bad habit/sin to rest. Its not by works or some other religous dogma. There ought to be a marked change in a persons life if they have come to Faith. Or, at least, there will be a troubled conscience if that person continues in a sinful activity. Its between the person and God, no one else is included in thier particular journey.
So.....what? If he's mistaken what he'll be struck down? I'm amazed a the shallowness of most Christians. Here something they disagree with and go scortched earth

So what is you're point here?
@@haloed-hero My point is that believing in confession and posetive thinking to save the soul is not a godly activity, and comes from a different source than believing objectively in Jesus Christ and his gosepl. The difference being as night and day

So salvation in vs 13 isn't to being saved for Heaven, but delivered unto sanctification

Apostate teaching. Brother James 🙏
6. Saving myself by faith is not a true love relationship with God,
as only I do the choosing.
7. God saving me only by grace, this also is not a true love relationship as only God has the eagerness, only God does the choosing and God must force himself upon us against our will.
8. "We love because he first loved us," now that is a true love affair between a grateful contrite heart and the Creator of life.

But never chosen to be saved
That's calvinism.

Becoming justified before God when you had a previous guilty standing is precisely talking about salvation. Romans chapters 1-3 are speaking of why no one can stand before God "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." 3-4 are largely about how we are saved from that sin. "

You know them better than I, and it sounds like she needs prayer.
Salvation is based on belief not on works. If your friend had believed then yes she can be saved. However, she will suffer consequence of wrath in this life and loss of reward in the kingdom.
My question would be: did she *really* believe?
What was the object of her faith in? Was she clear it was what Jesus the Christ, the Son of God promised? If so did she understand at that first moment when she believed, that she was certain she possessed what John & Jesus promised in Jhn 2.23, 3.16-18, 1 Jhn 5.9-13? If not let her know and as for her lifestyle of sin, if shes a child of God He'll deal with her not us...all we can do is in love encourage her to turn away from that lifestyle.

Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Verse 11 should read: and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is (Yehovah, Yahuwah, Yahuah, Yahweh) to the glory of......
Paul is quoting Isaiah:
Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

Let me share one final thought from Spurgeon that speaks to us today:
“In your own time you yourselves have seen churches flourishing, multiplying, walking in peace and love, but for some reason not known to us, but perceived by the watcher who jealously surveys the churches of God, a root of bitterness has sprung up, divisions have devoured them, heresy has poisoned them, and the place that once gloried in them scarcely knows them now. Let me impress upon you that all this may readily happen if we grieve the Holy Spirit as some churches have done.”
I believe this is a good word for us in our 90th anniversary year.
Let the whole church lift up the prayer, “Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.” Amen.
the holy spirit is SEALED unto the day of redemption, spurgeon was a calvinist which is not biblical CHRISTIANITY.

Repentance from sins is works, Baptism is works, and not sinning is works. But Asking for salvation is not works. Repentance towards God isn't works. And Faith isn't works as well

This left me confused.
Thanks

What's the point in imagining a hypothetical person who apparently believes but doesn't confess or call out to God to be saved?
thank you
finally someone who knows
Because belief is sufficient to be saved , nothing else .
What about those who can't speak?
They have their inner voice, which God can hear.
@@Rob-529 the chapter says mouth and doesn't talk about inner voices
@@dannyglover9151 Then answer the original question.
So we don't need to confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord to be eternally saved, right?
Rom 10:1 addresses who Paul is talking to in Rom 10:9 :)
How amazing. Rom 10:9 is our verse of the day today.Amen.
Come-on! What good is it to be justified and if you don't confess to drink God's Wrath? Justification without Salvation in null. Christ is The Christ of All, justification, salvation, sanctification and Glorification.
Paul is talking about Israel under the law Paul is not talking to us under the dispensation of grace
Romans 10:1-4
In order to understand Romans 10:9-10, it is better if we begin reading in verse 1: “[1] Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
CONCLUSION
Friends, Romans 10:9-10 was a formula for lost Jews to be saved from Israel’s apostasy during the Acts period.
Jesus taught that you can “know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
There are many passages in the Bible that teach the truth about Heaven being a free gift from God because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, not by our own good works. One of the most clear and important passages is from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians:
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Most people think that Heaven is a riddle which can never be solved.
Ephesians 1:13 - King James Version
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Romans 2:16 - King James Version
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. (Paul's Gospel - 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 1-4).

One of many poor confused discussions of this powerful verse. Very sad indeed.
No confession is needed... Romans 10 is about Israel!....you are saved through faith!... Eph. 2: 8&9.... BOOM 💥
Amen , it's that simple .
We don't even need the Greek with the heart One Believes unto existing righteously or abiding righteously you don't impress me with your Greek
He did not answer the question
I take a slightly different view from Bob on this one. ua-cam.com/video/njI31ygn2-Q/v-deo.html
it is comments, such as these...that lead me to believe I know very little, of the Bible...and part of that was years of poor, or nonexistent teaching....by the so called Church....
Read the book of John and 1 John 5 and rely on Gods testimony concerning His Son rather than men's.
To be in harmony is key for survival , understanding nature and spirit , even true mathematicians that understand sacred geometry and the laws of nature understand this , if you break these laws then you are breaking the world , there is way more to understand then just bible scripture to be a true avatar / guardian a enlightened one of God , Bless to all that leads from the heart and carries the light , that understands truth , bless to those who seek and to those who know salvation , bless to all beings to those that are struggling and suffering and have lost their way , may God give them eternal glory , bless to all creation .
The preachers misleading them
So, basically, you're saying that ONCE you're justified, by confessing your heart about Jesus only THEN are you saved.
JESUS SAID ANYONE WHO DENIES ME, I WILL DENY BEFORE MY FATHER.. THIS GUY SEEMS TO MAKE HIS OWN TRUTHS UP..
Google rightly dividing the word of truth.
Sickening
This guy is a false teacher.
This is probably the very worst handling of Romans 10 ever. Wilkin ought to be ashamed of this (and one day I think he will be).
So.....what? If he's mistaken what he'll be struck down?
I'm amazed a the shallowness of most Christians.
Here something they disagree with and go scortched earth
No, you must repent from your sins to be saved
That's a works based salvation
@@dannyglover9151 yeah and salvation is by works according to James the
Kat Kool......Booòoooooo!!!! No sir! Acts 16:31 and John 3:16!
Do not kid yourselves. Without Confession (to a validly ordained priest) and without repentance, there is no salvation.
Get lost Satan. Confession isn't to a priest. It's to God.
There is one high priest and that's Jesus. Catholicism is false
Btw. The church didn't write the bible so they could add to it.
The Holy Spirit wrote it.
Confession is in the bible. To a priest us not.
They made that up
