I bought this SSD before finding this video and I am very pleased. Surprised that the SSD I bought on a whim (because it was cheap) was this good. Boot time is literally non existent. Great review btw, keep up the good work!
How was the benchmark for 256 gb m.2?
@@sadteens9231for me it was 2800 MB/s read and 1900 MB/s write. Pretty decent imo
is it making weird noises? cuz mine does
@@ham6006 no i shouldn't make any noise, it doesn't have any moving parts
Silicon Power also makes a very attractive metal capless flash drive, the Jewel 80. It has a ring for carrying it on a lanyard or a keyring. It’s very sturdy. I read somewhere that it won some sort of Italian design award for its looks.
Now it's faster and cheaper. Go for it.
Exactly!
Just got a 1TB for $37.99 USD. Using it for game storage.
Awesome video as always mate!!
I’ll definitely look at getting this incase I need to make any future storage upgrades!!
no offense but this guy looks like an elder scrolls: oblivion NPC
no offence taken 😜
Yes , and he looks cool for that lol
While the ad was going when I first clicked the video I read your comment I thought “ why is he so mean , can’t be that bad “ until the video began I’m like damn bro was spot on . no offence to him seems like a great guy !
This guy doesn’t blink!
Just picked it up today for an upcoming pc build.
is it still running good ?
looking for upgrade. For a while I been with 3tb hdd and today did test ,150 ish read. Thats why so many modern game took long time to boot up. Thank for Video share
I got the 2TB model. 6800. Its great.
Noice!
the 1Tb is 107 AUD on amazon right now. About to cop myself one
@@SocialHardware sold out in 35 mins!
Did you end up getting at that moment though?
qlc cache is lower than the more pricier competitors (smaller qlc buffer means it hits the main tlc nand and slows right down!) and endurance is also lower than most of its competitors. But still, very good value for money and very good base performance under certain circumstances.
Ok wich one I should cop?

I wouldnt put them in raid, that second slot probably isn't full spec like the first one is. Also I thought SSD drives didn't gain any boost from running in Raid? I'll gladly be wrong about that, picking up another 460gig SSD is super cheap and if it boosts performance to give me nearly 1tb of mid-high speed storage for secondary apps / games that dont' fit on my NVMe.
Ngl bought the 1tb model and It’s really damn good
Nice! Glad you're liking it!
I also got that, and is the green light supposed to stay on? (at the time of typing this it won’t show up in the unallocated space thing)
Is it still working ?
Silicon Power PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB Gen3x4 R/W up to 2, 200/1, 600MB/s Internal SSD
The 2.2gb / 1.7gb i believe is for the 1tb above variant only..
hello bro, how about durability? it's been 1 year how is it? is the performance is still stable?
I wish someone have read your comment and let us know about the durability
My nephew has a gaming rig with this as his main drive. After 3 years it's still running well.
Now it has 500gb at $54
Amazing!
@@SocialHardware it says in amazon R/W up to 3,400/2,300MB/s -> www.amazon.com.au/Silicon-Power-512GB-Gen3x4-SU512GBP34A80M28UA/dp/B07NRM9L91/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=980+Pro+NVMe+PCIe+M.2+500GB&qid=1602941998&sr=8-1
what do u think ?
I have a question any advice on what should I get
should I get Silicon Power P34A60 512GB (R/W 2,200MB/s/ 1,600MB/s)for 60 dollars or get Silicon Power P34A80 256GB (R/W 3,100MB/s/ 1,100MB/s) For 50 dollars?
Bought the 1tb nvme for 80$
how is this performing up to date?
anyone know how to turn off the flashing green light on this drive?
Better than su650?
The same one is 60€ in my country but it has 512gb
Why was the test set on 16 GB before the cut and after the cut set on 8GB?
Is SPCC a type of NVME ssd
Is it better than the Samsung 860 EVO?
Yes 😂
Great video how did you move the os onto the nvme ssd?
sTechnology Australia oh yeah good idea, one last thing do you know how to stop the flashing green light on the drive when its in use?
@@SocialHardware yeah i got mine off umart for 97$ and its got a green led on the top next to the bin icon flashing as it's in use
@@SocialHardware there is a crossed out bin right next to it it has a flashy led i see yours has it too
use somthing called disc geunues i have really bad spellling
Will a Ryzen 5 2600 with a asrock b450m pro go well with it?
I have a pretty similar setup, used it as a bootable, installation was over in 3 secs lol. Boot time is literally nonexistent.
My system freezes and I have to reboot every day. Its caused by Silicon Power NVME disk my friends. Be aware. I still havent found the solution.
Did you find the solution ? I was planning to get this!
just got the 1TB for $85.00

Does anybody know if its a hard drive or is it RAM, im confused for what it actually is.
This is an SSD, Storage. (SSD’s are Faster Hard Drives)
RAM is pc memory, different.
compatible gigabyte b450m ds3h?
ye
I've installed this and double checked that it is installed correctly and I can't get my computer to recognize this drive. It doesn't show up. I have windows installed on a normal SSD drive, and I wanted to do 1 of 2 things: either reformat the computer to run the OS and games/software on this pcie drive, or use this pcie drive as a gaming and rendering drive, use the SSD for the OS, and a third drive for storage. Can this drive be used as a drive for an OS/games/software? Why is it not being recognized?
Motherboard is MSI MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
A): The newly purchased disk must be initialized before first use.
B): If the new disk is not initialized automatically, open "Disk Management", right-click on the desired disk and initialize it.
Did you ever have to install a firmware update for the ssd, or was it just fine as it is cause I can't find anything about if you need an update for it or not.
nah no firmware update needed 👍
Is it necessary to install any driver that would make this nvme faster?
Just the intel or amd chipset drivers 😊
in my country the 1tb one is at 65 bucks
Those R/W values are terrible nowdays, I regret buying it
Just got this but my read is around 800 and write is around 600. Any reason for that, is my drive faulty?
do ur motherboard support for pcie gen3x4?
@@ardianfikry my mini has 2 gen 3
Does it have dram?
Yes. some DDR4 chips onboard :-)
@@vladvah77 you sure? I heard it uses a controller to access the host's ram
@@canwehitSubswithoutvideo-ic7nf So it's a DRAMless design?!?
@@vladvah77 im not sure i tried to find videos but they never mentioned
@@canwehitSubswithoutvideo-ic7nf what does dram on an m.2 do? does it make games run faster? and is it a big difference when a m.2 doesn't have it?
Does this ssd support asus tuf a15
Yes
its 34$ in 2022 for 500gb
Just got a 1TB for $37.99.
@@JayzBeerz i've also done that more recently
@@JayzBeerz i picked up 500gb for 11$ now
Does it support pcie 4?
It's a pcie 3 drive which you can use in pcie 4 slot, but you will only get pcie 3 speeds.
