5 euros? Tourists are spending thousands for their trip. 5 euors is nothing.
Keep it, smells like an open air dump
Not true. Just got back from there, its beautiful and clean.
@@marshalmcdonald7476 depends on the time of year. It does flood and the water is pretty gross.
❤❤@@marshalmcdonald7476
The stench comes from the tourists.
It’s beautiful in mid -May 😍& not smelly at all !!!
It's not the fee they're after it's the surveillance. But cool
I won’t go. I received anyone from Venice coming to the US should be charged a fee. Every other country should do the same.
You can’t afford 5 euros to help preserve the city? Wow.
@@dragonwithagirltattoo598 and how will five euros save the city? Its a tax. It doesn’t save anything. If they were serious they would limit the number of tourists on any day or bar them entirely. But all they are doing is collecting money and licking their eyebrows. I call BS.
Corruption on the rise. How disgusting.
I was there in late September 2023. The weather was great and the crowd sizes were not significant.
Good for Venice. It is probably the most unique city in the world and it has many many problems in dealing with over tourism, sinking city, rising sea levels and much maintenance to preserve a world iconic site. $5 EURO is nothing.
Ain't nothing wrong with that!!! It's there country not ours. (USA)
Maybe we should do that at our southern border.
Why don't you do it yourself since you care so much?
😂😂😂😂
@@AtomicMushroomz Weak retort.. but that’s ok dear, we don’t expect much more from you.
I have no desire to visit Venice .
But you are willing to comment on youtube video. LOL. Get jealous MORE. No place like this on Earth. and you will NEVER KNOW
Right? It's a tourist $hithole, similar to all tourist trap cities with a legacy historic flavor. I don't understand this obsession with visiting man made structures inundated with throngs over vacationers. Give me Kluane or Torngats any day over touristy hoi polloi gatherings.
It’s not far they should at least pay half.
Does the fee include visiting all the tents?
I think every popular destination should charge a small entrance fee, especially if there’s no visa fee. These cities and sites are overrun with tourists, largely due to social media, and they’re degrading more quickly than normal. That fee could also help them to stay afloat in low seasons.
An entrance fee is not necessary, tourist don’t just go to Venice for 5 minutes, take a selfie and leave. They all spend a lot of money in hotels, restaurants, shops, transportation, all contributing to the local economy, which also means more tax revenue for the city as well. If all they wanted was a little extra money they would just take cash or card and give you a paper receipt, they instead opted for Big Brother type surveillance with cellphone data and 700 cameras tracking every movement.
The controllers of Venice are tired of their jobs. They are hopeful this will decrease tourism. They won't work as hard, and the pay is the same. They need to be replaced by more positive, grateful people. 💯
McDonald's in Los Angeles is like $25 now. Sounds like a bargain.
Sounds like a good problem to have
Is not the first city in the world. It might be in Europe but San Andres Island in the Colombian Caribbean charge anyone who wishes to enter to the island even Colombians citizens a $35 dollars fee. Venice is only asking for $5 lol in nationals parks in Colombia U also have to pay to go inside even if you stay inside you will stay pay a fee by the day
Didn’t lose anything in Venice so no need to spend money to visit it.
Good for Venice. It was about time.
👍👍👍 As an American who is in Venice once a year this is a great thing; The extreme masses of people smothering the island has been stifling along with motor boat wakes that eat up the buildings foundations. The fee should actually be more.
我在米蘭餐廳被收過坐椅子費,吃全套午餐不知要怎麼站著吃,巧立名目收錢,不要臉
You don’t have to worry about me wanting to go to Venice. I’ve never had any desire to visit a place that floods. I’ll go to other places where can stay dry.
Viva Italia !!! 🇮🇹🇪🇸

Is 5 euros really going to reduce the number of tourists. More likely just a money grab.
🎯
It’s the inconvenience of registering that will stop many.
Anyone who can afford to visit Venice shouldn't protest that 5 euro entrance fee.
You have to pay visiting san Francisco already cross the bay bridge you gotta pay tolls
And it ain’t a $1.00 no more.
@@buckjohnnie2642 your right it's like 7 $ one way in
Fee???? Say BYE BYE to your tourism. BOOM!
The fee is not even the real issue, the Big Brother like surveillance is.
@@ivcuz9933 take your medication
@@AtomicMushroomzthey clearly stated that they will use the network of cameras combined with cellphone data to track people in the city and make sure everyone has paid the fee. That’s why you need a QR code instead of just paying cash.
@@ivcuz9933Seriously, if that’s costly maybe Europe isn’t for you.
@@elisaprorokovic9232the small fee is not the issue, as I stated before, the tracking and surveillance of anyone entering the city is the issue. I wouldn’t mind giving them 5€ in cash upon entry, what I don’t want is them being able to track people using their phone data and all the cameras while they are there.
Beautiful
Thish ish shlightly dishturbing.
They should charge 45 💶 euros!!! When I visited in 2019; we stayed @ an Airbnb on the outskirts (Veneto area) & took A bus into town to strolls the beautiful narrow streets & shopping & enjoy Venice !!! I think the locals are truly tired ; they have been driven far away from the downtown area b’coz all the housing is so expensive & only Rich tourists can afford it !! I won’t get started on how Big Cruise ships are ruining the Canals !!
They should charge 100 Euros. Overcrowding is a huge problem there. Only tourist that can afford it should be visiting Venice.
Never thought that too much tourism could be a thing. Id think it would be a good thing! $_$
🤦🏻♀️😅🤣😂🤷🏻♀️ like the federal state and county taxpayers haven't already underwritten everything they're doing I'm sure they'll be no lawsuits 😌
5 euro is really not enough. It costs much more to visit Disneyland. 😄
wonder if it's working.
Give it a couple of years, everyone will have the ocean lapping on the door step. Who needs italy
Geeze I wonder if all that immigration (both illegal and legal without the consent of their citizens) has anything do with the overcrowding? Yes it 100% does
I love Venice… it’s worth it!
Now people wont pay and go. Which will hurt business
Those rice tourist will still do it.$£5.00 is nothing.should charge more
It's 5 euros = 5 US dollars anyone can afford that
Charge more. 10 euro.
Not bad
I will pay.
I was there last month. Left in the nick of time 😂
VENICE! Shame on you😮
This is how you make up for poor finacial decisions. Make it someone elses problem.
no access fees for illegal migrants?
Money 💰 tight these days 😂
Nice❤
Schucking and jiving
Overrated city.. old buildings that are pretty much free to view on UA-cam "4k"... plus there's literally hundreds of places to get similar experiences (minus the ancient buildings obviously) 😂
Business there must just LOVE this idea... nothing says's, "AVOID," better than a gestapo checkpoint demanding, "Papers Please!" and charging you a fee to let you come spend your money at the local businesses 🤦🏻♂️
Brilliant. 🙄
Well, it’s the end of my dream. I wanted to go there as a child but now that the prices are up, I will never go there. Thanks for ending my tourist dream. Now it can just sink in silence.
First
Com on let it sink.there engineering not the best
Scam!
