So funny story, my best friend was hyping Chihayafuru to me at like the midpoint of a six-hour skype call and I rarely ever pass up an anime recommendation. Especially when there's Mamoru Miyano as one of the romantic leads. While I'm not sports anime fan and tbh all the karuta bits made me zone the hell out, Taichi has actually become one of my favourite romantic anime characters. Chihaya doesn't deserve him. I mean yeah I want him to be happy romantically but also can't lie his confession episode was one of the best and most powerful of the entire show. The fact that he walked away from the club and called Chihaya out on her bullshit expectations of him, what a man.
