And don't even get me started on how they butchered the Zebil Island arc in 2011...
I feel like this version does a good job at making Killua feel more his age compared to to the 2011 version. I don’t know if it’s things like him rejecting the peppers on his plate or him being grossed out by a fish but it’s so childish of him that it makes it funny by comparison.

And all the fillers the 99 version had were wholesome and great, they didn’t feel like filler and were often some of the best parts of the show. It’s important to have those kind of moments to build character, and unfortunately 2011 makes them feel too shallow. Ps: some people use the ‘filler’ as a argument as of to why 2011 is better, but that’s not valid. Togashi himself helped write the filler and some of the filler was work he wanted to put into the manga but was too late to do so. The only reason why it’s not included in the 2011 version is because Nippon studios (1999s animators) own the rights to the fillers. I can’t say this is for definite (look at the replies; if it really originated from wiki, definitely have doubts), but nor can i rule it out as not true, so take this with a pinch of salt.
I think the 2011 version is great, but I can still appreciate that the 99 version was also a masterpiece. The height difference is something they should've kept.
This just isn't true. From what I've seen theres no credible source that Togashi wrote any filler for the 1999 adaptation. It's ok if you like the 1999 version more, but just say that instead of spreading misinformation.
I love old 90's anime that used filler organically between canon stories as a vehicle to go from one instance to the other more than a "we need to give the mangaka time to give us more material to adapt, send Naruto on a new pointless mission for 5 whole chapters and don't allow him to learn anything from it, none of this will matter" kind of deal. 90's Hunter x hunter is my favorite example, the little bits of fluff inside the canon chapters make the characters just feel far more likeable and deep and then the couple of rare filler episodes, are super well written within the context and what we already know of the characters. Like, for example the episode in which Gon and Killua go to stay at Whale Island, is half canon half filler and the second storyline from that one episode has Killua realize that he really likes the idea of living a quiet life as a normal kid thanks to the way Mitosan treats him so unconditionally gently, unlike his parents did. And also where his trauma from growing as an assassin is explored in a way that makes sense for him. I completely recommend old HxH, even if some might say it's pacing is paused and it's seems to take itself super seriously, is a real gem of a show even if it's incomplete... And we don't talk about the adaptation of Greed Island from 2004 as part of it... Nope.

5:36 1999 version Killua pretty much exhibited sisterless behaviour with how he treated girls unprovoked. I never would've pegged him to have a lil sis of his own if the show had adapted chimera ant arc back then. "How can I pass up a chance to tease a violent gorilla like her?" Geez, my dude.
You have to look up all the elevator girl scenes. They're all posted here in one UA-cam video. Funny as hell. And everyone looks way better in the 1999 version, so I highly recommend watching all the episodes from that version as well. :)
I like that in both versions of the anime, both of gon's VA's did almost the same interpretation of the character, I mean the tone of the voice, overall mannerisms like the way they laugh even the voice itself sounds similar.
Adding more character is what this version does instead of adapting a chapter an just hoping its not boring when not on paper or even just making the chapter better

dude this isn’t even the best the 80s and 90s have to offer, i love this anime but there are even better animes from the 90s
killua being an even bigger brat in 1999 is everything to me
4:03 killua used all his force to restrain himself from killing that dude
1999 Killua is a menace to society
I love how killua is literally based on a cat’s personality
I think it's very nice to see anime character always change clothes, specially killua.
1999 Killua had the personality and attitude of rich kid RICH KID shown so good that the 2011 kinda not touched upon
5:36 1999 version Killua pretty much exhibited sisterless behaviour with how he treated girls unprovoked. I never would've pegged him to have a lil sis of his own if the show had adapted chimera ant arc back then.
"How can I pass up a chance to tease a violent gorilla like her?"
Geez, my dude.
0:55 Gon’s so fucking adorable I can’t take it
8:22 "What!?🤯 NO!!😤 He's not sleeping!!😭 He's only pretending!!🫵😡"
Aww it looks like they did a lot more with the elevator girl in this version.
Also I personally think kurapika looks better in this one.
Kurapika looks so dang pretty, I agree
You have to look up all the elevator girl scenes. They're all posted here in one UA-cam video. Funny as hell.
And everyone looks way better in the 1999 version, so I highly recommend watching all the episodes from that version as well. :)
@@japanesefunnyshorts8584 Where do I go to find the 1999 version? I've tried looking almost everywhere and I'm only ever seeing the 2011 series.

I call him drippyka
I really need to watch this anime sometime. It truly radiates a different kind of energy
Ive only watched the revamped version of this anime, ive never watched the '99 version but i gotta say that this looks 100 times better.
9:28 THE PARENTS HAVING THEIR ROMANTIC TIMEHASHAHAHA
5:12 HELP NOT KILLUA SPANKING GON
WHY IS THIS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE CURRENT ADAPTATION?
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINK KILLUA ACTUALLY IN PAIN AT 1:23 THE SOUNDS ARE JUST SO IMMACULATE
3:28 SOBBING LMAOOO
I love these 1999 scenes...it really shows fun little sides to them
Killua was already my ultimate favorite character before this, now after this he's everything ❤
the snack that smiles back
7:49 Why does killua i- isnt it-
6:12 In slow motion:
Someday i’ll be…
PART OF THAT WORLDDDDDDDD~
9:55 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Fun Fact: there's now more time between now (2024) and the 2011 version than there is between the 1999 version and the 2011 version.
スシ(仮)でいじけるヒソカ可愛いい…ちぇって言ってるキルアも可愛い…萌えるわ…好き
0:03 new type sound
Killua being afraid of dead fish is literally sending me💀✋🏻
The old version is surely more expressive and funnier. The new one can be funny too sometimes, but everything just seems so vibrant.
3:15 actually about to kill his best friend for a clondike bar
Killua really is a pro killer
man, seeing Kurapika's face sowly soften like that... that really is a gem of older animes, huh.
THEIR VOICES ARE SO CUTE WHY ARE THEY SO ADORABLE I JUST WANNA HUG EM AND PINCH THEIR CHEEKS
I like that in both versions of the anime, both of gon's VA's did almost the same interpretation of the character, I mean the tone of the voice, overall mannerisms like the way they laugh even the voice itself sounds similar.
I always love the extra few scenes they put sometimes in anime when adapting something, it usually happens in old anime and I love it!
Adding more character is what this version does instead of adapting a chapter an just hoping its not boring when not on paper or even just making the chapter better
7:33
Gon's scream XDDD
As much as I love 99 Killua, I'm so glad they realized that red and orange are not his colors for the remake.
I like how hisoka realized that he don't stand a chance since killua dish got rejected
I had such a tiresome day today.
This made me feel so much better 🥺❤️
i'm sorry you had a rough day. i hope you still enjoy the rest of your day and have a better one tomorrow!!!!
@@ahkaashi630 I've been battling depression for years now.

@@snekatamilselvan9460 dont even mention it im really glad that it could help even just a bit!! i wish you nothing but the best!!!!
On the next remake, I hope they add some of these scenes back. They add so much fun to the show.
Aww the way Gon says "Killua" is so cutee
This vibe is why I love the 1999 version more
"This woman is scarier than hisoka" made me cry😂
7:33 gons scream actually TOOK ME OUTTT I WAS LAUGHING AT IT FOR LIKE A MINUTE STRAIGHT HES SO CUTE 😞😞🙏🙏
