Ashley Graham eating the watermelon and cannolis is actually a thing in Germany! It’s called Rollkuchen- a fried dough you eat with watermelon! So not quite cannolis but very very similar! And so soooo good!
I love how she describes food, and how relaxed she seems when talking about it. I knew I liked her when she said peanut m&m’s! Those are my favorite haha
I love Ashley Graham!!! Can I just say how informative your channel is. I don’t know why but I am fascinated by research, you speaking facts is really amazing. Most of the “influencers” these days just say a bunch of things without actually researching regarding the matter. As a Nurse, I appreciate you speaking facts and giving us legit resources. I am so glad to have stumbled on your channel! I was spending months watching youtube videos and I should say watching your videos is both fun and informative. I am all in for the information and education so I can incorporate those in my everyday life. We love you Abbey!
You have helped my mindset so much! I appreciate that. I got so caught up in what is healthy and clean at I would get anxiety if I chose the “wrong” unhealthy foods for a meal. Thank you Abbey!

Your BFF Freelee has recently made another What I Eat In A Day if you are interested! It seems a bit more balanced this time around, but still a bit crazy.
Hey Abbey, I just wanted to say thank you! Your videos and your knowledge particularly around intuitive eating have really helped me. I have PCOS as well, and I've struggled my whole life with disordered eating patterns and a lot of emotions around food. You helped me feel okay about certain foods, certain cravings, and helped me listen to my body. Since I started listening to your channel and especially intuitive eating, I've lost so much weight and improved my PCOS, and I stopped associating food with emotions as much. My specialists are so happy. I've been okay with my size regardless of what size I am, I am okay shopping for clothes and not caring about the number on the label. I've stopped associating exercise with pain and suffering lol and instead enjoy exercise as a way to help ease emotions. Thank you so much for making it okay to be human and for helping me break out of toxic cycles of behaviour. You've taught me how to listen to my body and to respect myself. Thank you for your hard work Abbey!
My fiancee is from Sicily and my grandad is from Calabria, so when I heard cannoli + Calabria I died a little bit, but I'd really like to try her combination, I really believe that testing how foreigners eat our typical food can help us discover new flavours that we're not used to because of our strict traditions 😊
P.S I wanted to thank you.❤️ I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now and I am getting to the place where I'm not feeling out of control hunger at night! How? By ADDING protein, carbs, or fats to my meals/snacks to make them more satisfying. Doing that simple change has made my hunger so much more manageable. I no longer eat a single protein bar for a snack or quick lunch. And I was afraid that it would affect my weight (losing prednisone weight has been challenging) but it hasn't at all! I'm no longer even fluctuating in weight anymore. I'm also not experiencing as many hypoglycemia attacks anymore. Thank you, Abbey!🥰
Bologna and cream cheese! Spread it on, roll it up, and slice it in rounds. My mom used to give it to us as a snack but everyone I've ever told has never tried it so idk, I guess it a a weird combo.
I dont get this whole 6pm is eating early? That’s sees such a normal time. What time is a normal time 8 or 9. I’m winding down then and getting ready for the next day
I guess it depends the culture. For example, in the UK, eating around 5/6pm is normal. In France we find it super weird as most of us eat between 7.30 (when we are early) and 8.30. And in Spain they usually start dinner after 8.30 or even 9 pm.
In Portugal, most people have dinner between 8 or 9pm. But it’s not even uncommon to eat dinner as late as 10pm (11 is rarer but can still happen). I’ve never met a Portuguese person who ate dinner before 8pm though.
@@elineplantier probably because of time when sun goes down. In warmer climates summer lasts longer and thus days are longer. Only after around 9-8 p.m. is sun setting. Meanwhile in colder climates, sun sets as early as around 3-4 p.m. so 6 p.m. may seem like it's already 'late'.
Do you realise that you making this video is seriously important to my life right now? I just found out I'm pregnant and have been having major guilt about my caffeine consumption. But I have to be able to work and i need the caffeine to do that. I thought I had to keep it under 100mg, which is entirely impractical for me. I will say that the stress from the guilt going away might actually naturally give me more energy and less stress enough to slightly reduce my caffeine consumption as well as to just reduce unnecessary stress. I could cry. Thank you for making this video. You have no idea.
2021 Abbey is great ! I can see that you are much more comfortable with your skin/beliefs and better at reviewing people's overall diets with high compassion. And I really love how veggie friendly and not jugdemental you are. As someone 90% vegan (vegan will hate me for saying tbat) I really dont want to see people tell me im good or bad, science+ encouragement are all I need! Thank you, keep on going in that direction :)
I don't drink as much coffee as her, BUT I GET THE NEED! And it isn't even all about the caffeine for me. Sometimes, it's comforting. Sometimes, I want to drink it at midnight when I get home from work (but try to refrain) just bc it's soothing, yummy and comforting.
Love that you do this series of reviewing these videos. Some people take what a celeb as gold standard as they assume an expert has been advising them.
Cannoli are from Sicily, but the real question is HOW do you eat cannoli with watermelon? Like.. did she cut it and put the slices in the cannoli? I don't know how they're there, but in Italy cannoli are BIG ahah
In the Netherlands, specifically the Betuwe area where I live, it is very common to eat at 5 pm. In the rest of the country I often hear that dinner is served at 6:00 pm, but rarely later. I'm always so surprised that in many other countries they don't eat until 19:00.
I love pink salt! I always accidentally over salt my food with table salt and I'm my palate is super sensitive to salty foods so I have accidentally made my own food inedible for myself. But with pink salt, I've never over salted and made my food inedible. Even when I'm measuring and using the same amount as table salt, it still doesn't taste as salty
I agree. I love the taste of coarse ground pink or grey salt. It tastes so much lighter than table or kosher salt. I bake and cook with kosher salt but finish my food with the pink salt.
6:30 On the topic of bread allergies, my mum can’t eat store brought non gluten free bread for the life of her. It doesn’t matter if it was whole grain or not she always get stomach issue. However when I make homemade (tangzhong) bread with normal flour and yeast, she tells me she can happily devour it all without feeling any pain or discomfort. I’m trying to say that it might not be the gluten in the bread, but it might be the preservatives or any additional ingredients in store bought bread that causes issues. Side note, I can’t eat gluten free anything because I get bloated and very uncomfortable
The biggest problem with Intuitive Eating (and I myself am an intuitive eater) is that it is so clearly a western concept. We are so privileged and we have such an abundance of food that we feel victimized if anyone tells us we can’t have all the things on our whims. But the fact of the matter is not even in total deprivation but just in the general world that kind of abundance isn’t normalized the way it is here. We have this sense of deprivation if we don’t have pantries bursting at the seams and fridges stuffed to the rafters. When in reality many of our western counterparts and other friends who live with slightly less abundance around the world don’t feel this desperate need to affirm ourselves with balancing our salad with a handful of M&Ms to feel like we’re not deprived. I think this is a conversation we need to have more often when we talk about intuitive eating is how it is such a first world concept. And why that is problematic when we carry those ideas into the rest of the world
Italian friend here! Definitely a weird combination ahaha but we don’t judge until we try right? And Calabria is not the best place for cannoli actually! It’s Sicily!
Thank you for spreading the truth about caffeine and breastfeeding! So many moms get hate or come at each other in message boards over it. With my daughter I noticed I had to delay my second cup of coffee until after her first morning nap if I wanted her to go down well, but other than that it didn't affect her.
Totally second this coming from someone who has Colitis and Chrohn's and doesn't eat a lot throughout the day. Abbey makes it possible for me to enjoy food living vicariously through everyone's diets :)
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I couldn't stomach anything greasy so I had a lot of salad and sushi rolls (mostly cucumber or avacado, but I did eat a little bit of tuna, even thought I knew I wasn't supposed to). I had a lot of cold foods. With my second child (son), I was always in the mood for cookies, for filling meals. I had really bad heartburn so I always had candy in my mouth to help but yeah I just could not have had two very different pregnancy cravings. One thing that stayed the same both times was pickles. I ate a lot of pickles. I'm not claiming I ate the best foods or the recommended foods, but I think it's important to discuss it with your doctor and just eat a little bit to help satisfy the craving so it doesn't build up.
I craved salads so much when I was pregnant with my second. With my first, it was eggs Benedict. But those salads... lots of fruits, seeds, and crunchy bits with beautifully crisp leaves. Nothing else sat well with my morning sickness for so many months.
I come from a place where people usually eat dinner at 5-5.30 pm, and now living in a place where people might eat as late as 8.30, I really struggled with this in the beginning. I don't like to eat the biggest meal of the day so close to bed time, it just doesn't make sense. Now I usually eat my bigger meal at lunch and in the evening I'll have a soup and maybe some cheese or bread and cheese with yoghurt, rather than like pasta bolognese or fried chicken or pizza lol
I love Ashley so much. As a new mom with a VERY different body since giving birth, seeing her confidence in her clothing and in her motherhood really has shaped how I frame my experience of motherhood. I want more of that confidence still!
As a half Italian, I think the watermelon and the cannoli could actually have a good flavor. As long as you just add a bit of the watermelon with each bite as opposed to putting them together right away and ending up with a soggy mess. Fruit and creamy stuff go well together, so I don’t see why this would be any different
When I was pregnant I had 24 hours a day morning sickness for 6 months solid. All I could manage to keep down was bovril drink with strawberries or arrow root biscuits my mum made me because its supposed to help. I think it may be a family thing I know my nan had a hard time and my mum was actually still throwing up in the delivery room when she had me. I'm in the UK and 6pm tea time is pretty normal here it's funny how things like that change in different countries. I love Ashley's relationship with food you can tell she's a foody at heart it's lovely to see esp some one with her career where there's normally unhealthy relationships x
I’m having trouble picturing watermelon with cannoli, but it’s amazing with feta or goat cheese and pistachios. Plus, The Flavor Thesaurus (awesome book!) also recommends chocolate and cinnamon. So Ashley might be on to something...
Great advice once again ☺️ Italy is actually one of the top countries to travel as a celiac, it's because a significant amount of their population have the disease. Also here in Europe most gluten-free brands are Italian. They were in general aware of the subject before it became a "trend".
I perl it like an orange and then pull all the yummy part our of the inner peel sections. It’s putzy, but it’s worth it to have a big bowl of grapefruit. The inner skin is the only part Thats really bitter.
I’ve been vegan for 8 years now but the way she described that lamb stew had me reconsidering my life for a split second 🤤 lol. But for real I need a vegan version of that stew ASAP!
Marinated chicken is the best imo 🤤 Tandoori chicken is marinated using yogurt and lemon, Greek chicken uses red wine vinegar and teriyaki chicken uses mirin (rice wine). The acids really make the spices penetrate more.
I've always liked Ashley. She seems chill and down to earth.
Yeah, she cool AF!

Agreed!
I will keep watching your videos.
I am so glad to have stumbled on your channel! I was spending months watching youtube videos and I should say watching your videos is both fun and informative. I am all in for the information and education so I can incorporate those in my everyday life. We love you Abbey!
Aw thank you! I'm so glad it's helpful
You have helped my mindset so much! I appreciate that. I got so caught up in what is healthy and clean at I would get anxiety if I chose the “wrong” unhealthy foods for a meal. Thank you Abbey!
Watching your videos has put things in perspective for me after feeling like I’m being bombarded with so many different food and wellness philosophies and also struggling with disordered eating. Thank you so much for your content.
Just a heads up that grapefruit(juice) doesn't go well with some medicine/drugs! So be careful if you take some.
YESSS! I love grapefruits so when I decide to eat some I always clear with my docs that none of my meds are going to interact with it!
I love pink grapefruit but can’t due to medication.
Clicked so fast. I love Ashley! When it comes to eating, her marriage, motherhood etc she seems like she genuinely just does what she feels is best and just radiates positivity with every decision. A good release for international women’s day 👏🏻
Thank you! ❤️
Yeah
I really liked this one! Ashley is so positive and talks about food in such a healthy way
Agreed!
I’d love if you reviewed NikkiVegan. She eats a “normal” vegan diet and makes really delicious looking food.

Love her, and also Hannah Hagler and Nisha Balsara aka Lose Your Veganity.
Oh do Helena rose love her

She’s lovely. I’d like to see this as well.

Thank you for sharing! I'm so glad it's been helpful 😊
That's so true!
I LOVED this review. It is so nice to see someone who loves and ENJOYS food SO MUCH in a larger sized body.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Abby: My top twenty coctails....

😂👍
Raspberry pepsi is a thing?! OMG
Raspberry Pepsi is something I didn't know I needed, but now I need it ASAP! (everything with raspberry tbh)
Where can you get Raspberry Pepsi???!!! 😳😋🤔
This sounds so yum
Love you Abbey! You make me feel so calm and I just love how you never judge. Just wholesome advice.
I'm so glad it's helpful!
I'm so glad that's been helpful! ❤️
Who else wants Abbey to do a video where she tastes "weird food combos"? 🙋🏻
Great idea!
Here's one for you: rice, romaine lettuce or cabbage, fried salmon (flaked), corn, tomato sauce, and sriracha sauce. So yum!
Bologna and cream cheese! Spread it on, roll it up, and slice it in rounds. My mom used to give it to us as a snack but everyone I've ever told has never tried it so idk, I guess it a a weird combo.
xGLOWx yum! I used to eat that or sub ham for bologna rolled around pickles. Delish!
@@TheTruthHurts6666 who thinks that's weird?? that sounds amazing, I think I'll try it lol
“Top 20 cocktails” 😂😂😂 you’re my kinda girl!!
I totally laughed out loud at that part!
😂❤️
Ashley has always been such a role model for me! As I have gone through school for dietetics it made me appreciate her more and more.
Whatever works for the individual!
I start cooking dinner between 6:30 and 7 on my off days. On work days i start between 9 and 10
Do you realise that you making this video is seriously important to my life right now?
Thank you so much!
I love how you made evident the enthusiasm that Ashley has for the food she eats. I too love her, so transparent and healthy!
I'm glad it's helpful!
Cannoli are from Sicily, but the real question is HOW do you eat cannoli with watermelon? Like.. did she cut it and put the slices in the cannoli? I don't know how they're there, but in Italy cannoli are BIG ahah
I'm not sure! Possibly
Interesting, thanks for sharing
I agree. I love the taste of coarse ground pink or grey salt. It tastes so much lighter than table or kosher salt. I bake and cook with kosher salt but finish my food with the pink salt.
6:30
On the topic of bread allergies, my mum can’t eat store brought non gluten free bread for the life of her.
Eating dinner late is so strange to me. A lot of people in the rural midwest eat dinner at like 5:30-6:30.
And as an Italian eating dinner at 9-11 isn’t uncommon for me 😂
We eat dinner anywhere from 4pm to 6pm so I get ya
My parents make us eat at 5pm, but when they are gone my brother and I eat at like 10:30 pm lmao
I lovr that you didn't negate her experience with gluten and even talked about non celiac sensitivities and their link to autoimmune diseases!!!
When she described the salads my whole soul wanted that salad! Now...I need to hit the grocery store!
Thanks for the info!
Frozen dark chocolate sounded interesting, never thought of it, gonna try.
I've been keeping all my chocolates in the freezer for years
Frozen Snickers are also good lol
Question. @11:45 you mention craving acidic things due to dehydration - is this a thing? How does that work?
I wish more people ate like this, with this much love for themselves, their bodies and those around them. Loved this video!

We tried the Built Bars based on your recommendation and I’m pretty sure I’ve never eaten more protein in my life.
They're so good!
Thank you for spreading the truth about caffeine and breastfeeding! So many moms get hate or come at each other in message boards over it. With my daughter I noticed I had to delay my second cup of coffee until after her first morning nap if I wanted her to go down well, but other than that it didn't affect her.
I'm so glad that was helpful!
Could you do a video for those with diagnosed IBD? From a dieticians point of view
I'll put this on the list!
Totally second this coming from someone who has Colitis and Chrohn's and doesn't eat a lot throughout the day. Abbey makes it possible for me to enjoy food living vicariously through everyone's diets :)
Yes! That would be awesome!
Sounds amazing!
Interesting, thanks for sharing!
I love Ashley so much. As a new mom with a VERY different body since giving birth, seeing her confidence in her clothing and in her motherhood really has shaped how I frame my experience of motherhood. I want more of that confidence still!
I'm so glad it was helpful for you!
Yeah congrats
As a half Italian, I think the watermelon and the cannoli could actually have a good flavor. As long as you just add a bit of the watermelon with each bite as opposed to putting them together right away and ending up with a soggy mess. Fruit and creamy stuff go well together, so I don’t see why this would be any different
YES I requested this! Thank you for coming through!
😊👍
"knows her way around a cheap candy" LOL! I love this. Totally me!
Flavor Thesaurus? I’ve never heard of that, but I’m definitely gonna check it out. Thank you ☺️
One of my favorite new meals is avocado tossed in salt garlic and olive oil and air fried, then topped with tomato, cilantro and chicken.
Me: " I Wonder how much sugar is in that built bar..."
Abbey: "As a lower sugar bar..."
Stop reading my mind Abbey! 😂❤

35 weeks pregnant and I learned SO much from this video. Planning to breast feed and hopefully drop weight in the process.
Great advice once again ☺️
Italy is actually one of the top countries to travel as a celiac, it's because a significant amount of their population have the disease. Also here in Europe most gluten-free brands are Italian.
They were in general aware of the subject before it became a "trend".
Interesting, thank you for sharing!
I always loved Ashley Graham, she encompasses what body positivity really should be about

The last time I had a grapefruit, I cut it up the way I cut oranges and ate it that way. Didn't add sugar because why would I, it's delicious as--is!
I perl it like an orange and then pull all the yummy part our of the inner peel sections. It’s putzy, but it’s worth it to have a big bowl of grapefruit. The inner skin is the only part Thats really bitter.
Yum!

Marinated chicken is the best imo 🤤 Tandoori chicken is marinated using yogurt and lemon, Greek chicken uses red wine vinegar and teriyaki chicken uses mirin (rice wine). The acids really make the spices penetrate more.
Yum! Love that too
