I was honestly really pleased with this video - so often I hear things like avocado toast or oatmeal, which are fantastic breakfasts, and then things just get strange and restrictive from there. This seems like it actually stayed pretty balanced!! I will say...no raisins in the rice pudding...but rose water though, that elevates it so impressively!! My dip vote is 100% guacamole!! And while I was making granola yesterday I literally thought "oh I should throw some hemp hearts in here because then it'll have more protein!" That is how integral the hunger crushing combo has become for us in this house!
Oh wow I am offended that the dip options didn't include hummus, that's always my go-to with chips. If not, then I vote sour cream. For ice cream flavors, definitely coffee.
Hummus is my go to for dipping crackers. Salsa seems to be my go to for dipping chips, but I also LOVE some homemade guacamole.....or even just mashed avocado.

This question in the video puzzled me a bit. Am I the only one who doesn't have a favorite? Ice cream is amazing and I love the variety. I'd never buy the same kind twice in a row or even in the same month. I want them all, so they have to rotate and make me miss them until I decide to "repeat" a flavor.
@@viktoriiab5312 My brother is exactly the same. He always has to try new flavours. That's so interesting to me. The idea that "dairy is bad for you and oat or almond milk is better" only applies really to the lactose intolerant. I don't know where this comes from. If you don't have sensitivities to dairy, and you're not vegan, there's absolutely no reason to avoid dairy. And too many of the "dairy police" do things like use dairy yogurt but decide that oat-based ice "cream" is somehow better.

Abbey, I’d love to see a video from you on preservatives and certain ingredients you don’t recommend (if any).
I would choose the Simple Mills version just based on the fact that it doesn't have palm oil. That ish is burning the orangutans and destroying their habitat.
I agree…you didn’t take into consideration the ingredients at all, you only looked at the nutrition facts. I think Kate Hudson meant HEALTHY in the ingredients used. Cheez its are not made of 100% REAL good for you food
A teaspoon of cold jam swirled through warm rice pudding. This is far superior to any raisin. Keep the desiccated grapes away from my pudding.
Sounds amazing!
Thank you for sharing! So glad that's helpful for you 😊
Oh wow I am offended that the dip options didn't include hummus, that's always my go-to with chips. If not, then I vote sour cream.
For ice cream flavors, definitely coffee.
I love hummus too!
Hi hive on the coffee ice cream!!!
Hummus is my go to for dipping crackers. Salsa seems to be my go to for dipping chips, but I also LOVE some homemade guacamole.....or even just mashed avocado.
For me guacamole then hummus then sour cream then salsa and for icecream i love pistachio mango and chocolate
I’m watching this while eating my homemade Zuppa Toscana and knowing it’s perfectly OK for me to eat it. I love your wit and sarcasm, it’s helped me so much in my path to defeating my eating disorder. Thank you.

the immediate “never mind!” when she mentions celery juice almost made me spit out my coffee 😂
YES BECAUSE THE HEALTH BENEFITS FROM JUICING CELERY IS SO ANNOYING. HOW DARE ANYONE JUICE CELERY. SO FUNNY TO MAKE FUN OF PEOPLE DOING IT. KINDA LIKE HOW FUNNY IT IS THAT DAILY CONSUMPTION OF COFFEE CAN CAUSE PERMANENT HAIR LOSS, IMPEDE YOUR CNS, ACIDIFY YOUR SYSTEM WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY DEHYDRATED, ALL DUE TO THE ABILITY FOR CAFFIENE TO STIMULATE BOTH OF YOUR ADRENAL GLANDS AT THE SAME TIME SO THEY HAVE NO SUPPORT.

I vote for all three dips in a layer situation with cheese, they were all the rage in Australia in the 90's
Agreed!
That’s how I eat them to!
Spinach artichoke dip is excellent, and would be my second choice (if it was an option here) after guacamole!
Yum!
omgsh yes I'm obsessed with spinach artichoke dips

I love it on a baked potato!
Just recently discovered your channel, and I absolutely love it. Such a great educational and positive approach to food. Society needs this, especially now. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you, I'm so glad it's helpful!
Team no raisins!
WHO ever had the idea of putting raisins in every sweet food, cake.....
The ABOMINATION 😳 everything is ruined!
Same. I think it’s the texture for me. Why put little chunks of chewy grape jerky in the middle of something soft?
They ruined carrot cake with raisins in them
@@ReturnToSenderz But it's not soft! Rice pudding has *shudder* things in it. They lurk just below the creamy surface and ...just no. I have to put my rice pudding through a blender to eat it. At that point...you might as well add what ever.
They're vile. Like, why???

Butter pecan baby!
This was a surprisingly pleasant and normal food diary. Yay, Kate!
On walnuts being bitter and dry. Best way is to soak them for some time, the bitterness goes away, then bake for a bit in the oven. They are soo delicious that way!

I loved how much she smiled when talking about food. It’s so refreshing compared to some other people have shared. She is so joyful talking about what she likes, what her children like, and what her mom made. Just great 🥰.
I just found you last week, 12/9/21, so happy that I did. Love your sense of humor and the fun things you put into your videos.
And I also love how Kate’s athliesure business caters to bigger bodies and a lot of bigger sized folk can find cute sports wear instead of the usual boring black everything leggings they try to sell us.

😂wow!
as a non american human i’m very curious to know what the flavour entails
It’s the best flavour ice cream I’ve ever tried.
@@diya-hn2wy It's peanut butter ice cream with pretzel and brownie pieces.
My favourite ice cream flavour will forever be Ben and Jerry's Chocolate fudge brownie. I have had ice creams that are better but I have so many childhood memories associated with this one and its just so easily available.
Sounds amazing!
I think it all just boils down to who is more risk taking with their food choices and who prefers to stick with things they're comfortable with. I wish I could be adventurous but I kid you not. If I get something and don't end up liking it, I regret it so much its insane. Like just completely unnecessary regret and the entire thing I'll keep thinking about my comfort order as I eat. It's ridiculous.
Yummy!!!
I absolutely love Kate Hudson. Her Fabletics line is amazing.
😊❤️
Pistachio ice cream is my fave, the best I’ve had has always been whilst holidaying in Italy x

Haagen Dazs makes fantastic pistachio ice cream!
Walnuts & oatmeal 🤩 is ahmazing, add honey to it and it’s pure perfection

I was pleasantly surprised with this! So much better than most of her colleagues..
For sure
I'm team salsa. But have you ever tried tzatziki as dip? Delicious!
Oh my, no! The karamelsutra one is the best B&J! 😅
Rice pudding with a little bit of vanilla flavour, no raisins, no cinnamon, just the rice. So good!
Thanks for sharing!
I had some with my dolma the other day. SOO good!!
Yessss I love tzatziki!! My kids eat it with a spoon.
I'm a huge fan of ice cream and I was blessed to have "artisanales" ice cream near me all my life.
So huge fan of unusual flavors, like beetroot/citrus, lemon verbena or even "Grand Marnier".
But the one I'm obsessed with right now is vanilla with nougatine, it was just amazing !
Well, I might just as well be able to talk about ice cream all day long !
Abbey "I think it's important to make time to move your body"

Me "Oh that right !" and slouching even more
Thank you for being so soothing 🙏
I'm so glad that was helpful!
I'm loving the memes in the editing 😂
So glad!
Why choose one dip? Have them all, they work so well together. If I have to choose one, guac is king!
So true!
I am Mexican and I can tell you that from time to time we mix the guacamole and salsa together and it's so yummy to add on tacos, on quesadillas, on top of eggs, with chips/ crips or even veggies. We make a different version of rice pudding and it is normal to add cinnamon, vainilla raisins, chocolate chips and even cranberries.
My favourite ice cream: Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk
Ben and Jerry’s had a ginger snap flavor ice cream years ago that got discontinued and it broke my heart. It was delicious.
they used to have a creme brulee flavor back in like...2011-12 and it was so fucking good, I have no idea why they discontinue some of the best flavors but keep the bs ones.
That sounds amazing!
Rice pudding is disgusting to me and finding out people add raisins (also disgusting) gave me a visceral reaction. 🤢
I understand!
😲
I love me some chips and dip. I prefer fresh chunky salsa with so much cilantro and garlic it’s ridiculous 😂
Sounds great!
Yessssss love cilantro

Healthy isn’t JUST about calories, fat, sodium, etc. The difference between simple mills and the cheeze it is that simple mills does not have a cocktail of preservatives, dyes, fake flavors, etc.
Fav ice cream flavors: Pistachio or Tiramisu (yes I love the pastry too!)
MY FAVORITE IS PISTACHIO TOO!! You just don't meet a lot of us out there. God bless you sister. 🤗
Pistachio or hazelnut, if you haven’t tried it I would recommend

And p.s. ALWAYS 2 big pieces.
Yummy!!!
The way you’re pronouncing LaCroix is SENDING me 😂😂😂 although I realize you’re just pronouncing the French correctly, in most places ppl say “croy” 🤣
But she’s saying it right tho😅

As a Texan, my heart broke when you said sour cream was the third in the dipping trifecta and not QUESO 😭😭
Yessss
How you went from "why would you have vanilla ice cream when you could have vanilla with something else in it?" straight to "nothing else in my rice pudding; I'm a purist," haha!
Ben and Jerry's Phish Food is my favourite but Netflix and chilled is my second
Yum!
Every morning I’ve been eating toasted Ezekiel bread with hummus, cucumber, lemon juice, feta cheese, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and hot pepper flakes. Omg it’s so good! But I always here abbeys voice in my head ...”protein from the chickpeas in the hummus, fiber from the Ezekiel bread and cucumber, and fat from the feta cheese” 😅
Haha I have the same! Even when my husband is grabbing a quick bread-with-cheese for snack, Abbey's voice in my head makes we tell him "grab a tomato or a few radishes with that, please" 🤣
Same 😄
Aw I'm so glad! That sounds great 😊
I love Ezekiel bread.
As far as dips, I love me some French onion dip actually. Really easy to make as well, just get a box of onion soup mix (the dry, lipton one is what I use) and a 16oz container of sour cream. Mix them together and you got a French onion dip. So yummy.
On the sour cream thing, I mix some tajin, cilantro, and lime juice in mine when I make nachos. It’s really fresh and delicious.

TW: funky eating habits
I'm really glad I found your channel because you offer a balanced perspective on food that doesn't aggravate my orthorexic/OCD tendencies.
The word "healthier" put a lot of foods in a Pandora's Box for me and im kind of rediscovering what I actually like eating versus what I can allow myself to eat.
Anyways, thank you for your meme filled videos. I appreciate you.

I snack. I'm an intentional snacker, really. I go for walks on my 15 minute breaks at work and when I get back, I have something like carrots or celery sticks with hummus or some kind of nut butter, banana chips and dried mango slices, half an avocado, etc. That's the time for a glass of water too. My evening snack is usually watermelon or a small bowl of popcorn sans butter. Nothing about this makes me feel bad. 🤷

Mint chocolate chip Gelato has been my absolute favorite lately. The only time I eat Vanilla ice cream - and it has to be Vanilla Bean - is when there is a nice warm batch of brownies.

I do looooove sour cream- but I’ve got to flavor it with some ranch seasoning or French onion dip mix 🥰 Guac will always be number one though!! And for ice cream- Van Leeuwen Brooklyn Brown Sugar Chunk. Ohhhhh my heavens, it’s insane!!! 😍😍😍
Crazy unpopular opinion- I love raisins in just about everything, but not in rice pudding! I am a huge fan of “pudding” desserts in general- banana, rice, bread, etc!

The which dip question... I'd have all three 😁 make that a nacho dish and im sold 😋

I love ice cream too, especially in the summer! Choosing one favorite flavor is so hard. Though I do really like Hagen Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter. I also like to eat a more vegan diet sometimes, so I've been trying non dairy ice cream. The Magnum Non Dairy Vanilla and Chocolate Bars are SO GOOD! I had to double check the box to make sure they were actually non dairy. I also found them to be a bit easier on my tummy and digestion than dairy ice cream which I appreciated.
I love it too! Sounds great
I'll often use a Greek yogurt as sour cream. They taste exactly the same! And it's healthier for you. 😁

Yep I'll sometimes swap Greek yogurt for mayo too. It's a slightly different taste but super good for protein
Is no one going to talk about the fact that her trifecta of dips included sour cream and didn't include queso???
My bad!
I’m really impressed by Kate’s food choices. I was 100% expecting almond mom.
A Delicious Oatmeal Recipe
In a microwave safe cereal bowl combine the following--
1/2 cup extra thick rolled oats (I use Bobs Red Mill extra thick organic oats)
1 tsp. olive oil
2 TBSP. Craisins (or other dried fruit)
2 TBSP toasted walnuts
2 TBSP shredded coconut
2 packets of Truvia
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
Water to cover ingredients
Microwave 1 minute, stir well. Microwave another minute. Add 2 TBSP almond milk, stir into mixture. ENJOY! So very satisfying, nutritious, and filling! I sometimes eat this breakfast for dinner. SO delicious! You may sub monk fruit sweetener for the stevia (Truvia). The oats are beautifully cooked without being slimy.
I have to go non dairy in the ice cream department or I’ll be stuck in the bathroom for 3 hours wishing I was dead. 😝
Same! And dairy free icecream is so expensive. Breyers started making dairy free icecream recently though which is the best price for dairy free for the amount you get! So happy
😂
Same. I can do a small ice cream sandwich but gone are the days of eating the entire pint of ice cream. I just have yet to find a non-dairy alternative that hits the spot. I think I should look into those lactose pills for those 100° F (37° C) days where I'm in the mood to finish the whole thing.
For the most part, same. That's why if I want the cows milk based Ben and Jerry's that I love I have to set my stomach and intestines up for it by having no cows milk in the rest of my day and taking a pill or two. Otherwise, hard same!
